I'm getting a little nervous about DM. This situation reminds me of last season, when DM caved in to Kevin Towers' demand and added Garrison along with Inman for Linebrink. That has turned out to be a mistake and I really hope that DM does not repeat the mistake. Stand firm to Mark Shapiro DM! Call his bluff, look for other alternatives too. I'm already very uncomfortable with losing LaPorta and Green for the CC rental, no way will I improve on that offer, I'd rather walk away than make an awful trade. Now I think DM should reduce his offer to the Indians. If Shapiro wants quantity like the Phillies offer, I'm more than happy to replace LaPorta and Green with 6 lesser prospects.

I'm not worried about the Dodgers competition at all because I don't think Colletti's offer to the Indians will be close to the Brewers. Throughout the offseason, Colletti has proven to be very unwilling to part with his top propects in trade talks. LaPorta is better than what the Dodgers will offer.

No way I'd include Hardy in the deal, we need him for the playoff run too. Gamel, Escobar, Green and Jeffress are also off limits to me. LaPorta and Weeks for CC is my final offer to the Indians.

To me, LaPorta and Salome should be more than enough for the Sabathia rental. Anything more than that is asking for too much by the Indians, and maybe we should step away.

I'm resigned to losing LaPorta for CC, but please Doug don't include Green too. I don't think Gamel can stick at 3B but Green can, he was moved from 2B to 3B by the Brewers last year partly because of how bad Gamel was defensively. Like Gamel, Green is another valuable lefty bat that we have a shortage of, especially when Prince is gone. I think Gamel probably should be moved to 1B or the OF soon.

Really hope Yost is gone along with his eight inning guy Mota right after this season is over.

I wouldn't mind trading Weeks for Hudson if the Dbacks are interested. But I'd much prefer to keep Hardy long term and move him to 2B or 3B after this season with Escobar at SS.

Good luck to Burnett if he opts out of his contract, I seriously doubt he will get $12M for next year given his history. I think teams might not even offer him $10M for next season.

When I saw the title "Who replaces Hart in right?", my first thought was that the Brewers are moving Hart to CF. Just wanna say that I'm much more confident of Hart staying a Brewer longer than 3 years than Prince.

I would pass on A.J. Burnett, he's undependable and not worth the money.

So far so good for new GM Hammond, I like the draft picks and the trade for Jefferson. Now to extend Bogut's contract for 5 years, and hopefully pull off a CV, Mason and Gadzuric for Kenyon Martin trade http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Starting lineup: Mo, Redd, Jefferson, Kmart and Bogut Bench: Sessions, Bell, Alexander, Mbah a Moute, Voskuhl, Ruffin, Ivey and Storey. If it happens, this new team should be decent and interesting to follow in the upcoming season.

The Mariners want to dump Sexson badly, their fans really dislike him and his awful contract. By bundling Sexson with Felix, will actually make the trade more attractive to the Mariners, than just Felix alone. For the Brewers, it would mean absorbing the remainder of Sexson's contract so as to get King Felix. The Brewers can either dump Sexson right away to clear a roster spot or at the end of the season. EDIT: Beltre is due around $12M in 2009, I will definitely pass on him.

To me, Jeffress is currently off limits. With Ichiro in RF, the Mariners do need a better CF than Bloomquist. I wouldn't mind doing a Prince + Gywnn + Gillespie + Zack Jackson for King Felix + Sexson if the Mariners are interested. Sexson still hits lefties pretty good and I'd platoon him with Rivera or Dillon against righties, or send down Dillion and callup Brad Nelson to platoon with Sexson. King Felix is a young stud, Felix + Yo + Parra for next season and beyond = awesome.
