  1. The more I read about Lawrie, the more I like. I agree with X that this is the guy to go for with the first pick. The Brewers do have an excellent Canadian prospect (also from British Columbia) who plays 2B and 3B in Taylor Green, so being Canadian doesn't hurt at all http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I think Lawrie have more power potential than Green though. I read that Lawrie plays C and OF too, I'm not sure how good is he at those positions, but I'd be interested to explore his catching ability. A recent video of Lawrie in the infield, outfield, at C and in the batting cage
  2. Today the Manyan has 2 BB, 1 K and a monster homer in 4 ABs. He's truly the god of 3TO.
  3. Just a thought. With Sexson sucking badly in the last year of his contract and Seattle sinking out of the race, I wonder if the Mariners are interested to trade Felix Hernandez for Prince. I read that they are currently looking for a 1B.
  4. I know this could be blasphemy in the church of 3TO, but I think Kapler is slightly more macho than Branyan at the moment. Of course if the Manyan were to explode offensively soon, that would convert my thinking.
  5. For me, I'd like Torres to continue closing even when Gagne returns. I'd used Gagne in low pressure situations or in middle relief.
  6. Excellent win, great job by Suppan and Weeks with the big hit. Now please kill off the Braves with the sweep!
  7. Reading his mailbag article today, Tim Melville is Haudricourt's guess for the first pick too.
  8. I've been thinking about Haudricourt's report when DM revealed to him that he had picked up Ned's 09 option 4 months earlier. My thinking then and stll do think that picking up Ned's option was a really bad move. Ned's not a lame duck manager, he's simply a terrible manager that should've been gone. By picking up his option, the team will have to waste an additional $1.1M to get rid of him. In the article, Melvin said that Yost could be fired in midseason this year if the team is still performing poorly. I wonder if this is just lip service by Melvin to appease the numerous angry fans? Because now would be high time to fire Ned, Doug. Callup Kremblas now.
  9. Yes! Finally it has happen, they should've done it last week.
  10. What the hell is Bill Hall doing! Send him to the bench.
  11. I agree, Prince needs to go on a real diet. His increasing weight is affecting his defense.
  12. For me, The Last Crusade was the best, followed by Raiders. I really like Ford's Indiana Jones character and style. The new movie will start screening Friday night over here and I'll be watching. Hopefully it's not too disappointing. BTW, for those who wrote the spoiler in white text, I can still read every word of it... I think Indiana Jones movies tend to be unbelievable and here's hoping that Get Smart and Dark Knight are better.
  13. I agree, it's pathetic and even more pathetic away from home. They don't have that killer instinct and are just contented to win a series.
  14. I think Bush could make a good, durable reliever and would be more useful to the team in the pen. I don't think Bush should be sent down, instead I'd move him to the pen and trade for Greg Maddux to take his rotation spot http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Glory Glory Man United!! As the Red Devils Go Marching On! On! On!
  16. His brother is the pitching coach here, maybe that could be attractive to him.
  17. Why doesn't everyone here who wants him gone take up a collection? By my reckoning, the money should be raised by Friday... If I could, I would make Doug Melvin pay a large chuck of Ned's 09 buyout for his boneheaded move. There was absolutely no hurry or need to pick up Ned's 09 option that quickly, he was basically sticking it to the fans by doing that. He should've have waited, and now he deserves to get his salary deducted for his mistake.
  18. Fully agree. Man, what a disappointing day today has been.
  19. I think Melvin quietly picking up Yost's 2009 option right after last season's debacle was a really bad move on his part. Now it cost the Brewers $1.1M to buyout Ned for next year.
  20. Yost gets paid a million dollars to be a cheerleader with no accountabitity on the team's performance. What a great overpaying job. If I'm a player in this team, I'd much rather have a beautiful babe as the manager. I bet she can cheer me up much better than Ned can.
  21. I'd prefer to trade Hall than Weeks. Hall's gonna be expensive the next 2 years and may not be worth that money. Crabbe is currently not in the Brewers 40 men roster and I'd prefer leave him out of it for the rest of the season at least.
  22. The day is not over yet, I still have some hope remaining.
  23. Looks like Yost won't be calling him "Braunie" anytime soon, after how Braun threw him under bus yesterday. I guess he will be calling Braun something else...
