  1. In case anyone's interested, the Dodgers T.V. guys kept track of the number of balls used in the game. Final tally: 79 through 9 innings; 99 through 12. Have to admit I did wonder once about how many balls are used in a game. You can all rest easy now.
  2. Jenks looks absolutely horrible right now. He's no threat whatsoever. How many guys has he stranded in this series? Now that I said that, he'll probably knock one onto National Avenue next time up. Hope so. Never thought I'd have a chance to say "thanks" to the pitchers, but they're bailing out this pop gun attack. Watching the game on Dodger T.V., and without Scully, it's brutal.
  3. I finally get to watch a game from start to finish (on the Dodger's network) and it's one of the most frustrating in recent memory. Why Jenks wasn't taking a pitch with the bases loaded, after 2 previous walks that inning, is truly a mystery to me. You KNEW he was going to swing, whether it was a strike or if it was 10 feet over his head on the way to the backstop. That AB was absolutely brutal. As the previous poster said, he is killing the team. And I don't care what the reason was, I would not have let Bennett hit with the bases jammed. Sometimes Nedley manages as if the team isn't expected to win, so it's okay to screw around, and boneheaded, illogical decisions will go unpenalized. This one should have gone in the W column.
  4. This is when a good manager earns his money. IMHO, one of the most important attributes of a good manager is the ability to motivate his team to play games against lesser opponents, and in situations when the players might not be as jacked up as usual. I think Ned has this capability, I sure hope he puts it to good use. There's no reason they can't win each of these series'. Side note, but my problem with Mike Sherman is that he rarely shows any interest in providing this type of motivation. More often than not, his players come out of the tunnel dragging their arses.
  5. Thanks RoCo. I knew there was no way they could have left 32 OB. How about those 21 k's though? 30+ in the past two games.
  6. I can't believe the Crew was even in that game. Did anyone see it? How did they score 9 runs despite being 8 for 53 with 21 strikeouts? Did AZ really leave 32 guys on base? That's gotta be some kind of record.
