  1. This should be Swarzak's last batter no matter what
  2. Get Knebel up, Swarzak's thrown a lot of pitches...
  3. Probably, but at this point of the season can't play for tomorrow, even if it is the Cubs.
  4. Thank god for instant replay, we get all the calls right this way
  5. Ok liked the Thames move, don't get the perfect GIDP candidate here...
  6. Like the buttons Craig is pushing today, including Thames here...
  7. It usually drives me nuts hearing voices in the background in an empty stadium during a game. When those voices are coming from the Brewers dugout (I think), it's pretty fun.
  8. The only team they lost games to during their 8-2 stretch is the Cleveland Indians.
  9. HUGE escape, a la Chase last night. Cubs now down 7-0. LETS GET SOME RUNS!
  10. Don't like it either, but Hader/Swarzak/Knebel can't pitch all these innings
  11. For as good as Arcia is defensively, he seems to make a lot of errors on plays he should handle easily
  12. Seems Shaw's plate discipline has declined lately, can't seem to lay off anything low, including low and off the plate
  13. Honestly hadn't even thought about it, but yeah he's been playing pretty much daily. I think he doesn't argue much about his off days during the year, but he has to know these are career defining opportunities. When he is done, we'll all talk about his grand slam against Pit in 2008, his Wild Card clinching HR against the Cubs in 2008, his division clinching HR in 2011...and hopefully another big moment in 2017. I think he wants to play every day from here on out, and it's refreshing to see.
  14. Outside of the 2 games where we scored 10 runs each? And still scored 4 in the loss. Yeah not much going in Pittsburgh but it's just 2 games. Before that they scored 8+ in 4 of the previous 8 games including double digits in 3, and have averaged 5.9 runs/game over the past 10 even including the last 2 games.
  15. Wouldn't say he's been impressive at the plate, I'd say he's been fine. Don't get me wrong, I like the kid, and I expect he will continue to get better, but to date he has not been overly impressive offensively. .232/.328/.375/.703 And that's with some luck given his BAbip of .379, to go with a K-rate of 38%. Given his good defense and propensity to strikeout...he's more or less a left-handed Keon Broxton at this point. He's got a cannon and been great defensively, but offensively he's just been ok. I'd happily platoon him and Keon the rest of the season.
  16. Holy cow what a hose on Phillips, even is he was 8 feet up the line...
  17. Huge K of McCutcheon, lucky on that first pitch fastball over the middle to Bell...
  18. Rays finally get a hit, and it's a dinger! Small victories these days against the Cubs...
