  1. Hmm- I called them at like noon and the guy asked me if it was on FSN. I told him no and he said to let him check if they would still get it. He came back like a minute later and said that they would. I wonder if the people there just didnt know what was going on because the guy on the phone seemed to understand . Yeah they tried to get the game through MLB earlier this week and it was blacked out. They had no idea what they were doing. I wouldn't get your hopes up.
  2. Did you try brats last time? I called them last time and they said that they would get it but it was pouring that night so I just listened to it instead of venturing over there. Yeah I did. I called them too and they said the same thing. When I got there they had no idea what they were doing and couldn't figure out why they couldn't get the game. I doubt they had any idea the game was not on FSN when I called ahead.
  3. Would this mean a doubleheader this weekend? Or a make-up game when both teams have a day off later in the season (or one of those "if necessary" make-ups)? The thought of spending all day tomorrow or Sunday watching the Brewers makes me giddy.
  4. Ok I'm going to try again after failing miserably earlier this week... Is there anyone who knows a bar in Madison that will be showing the game tonight? I'm hoping to not bounce around between sports bars again and have everyone look at me like I'm crazy for wanting to see the local baseball team play a game.
  5. Awesome, I've already gone over 48 hours since my last Brewers fix, I don't know how much longer I can go.
  6. So is there any way to see this game in Madison? Will it be playing at any bars or anything?
  7. Bautista should drop another sac bunt...
  8. Until they start handing out playoff berths at the end of April, this means nothing. I remember last year the Pirates were in 2nd behind us towards the end of April and fans at Miller Park were cheering when they saw the Cubs beat the Pirates on the scoreboard. Don't be swayed by early results. And if someone offers you Gabe Kapler for Matt Holliday in your fantasy league...don't do it.
  9. In last year's 30-3 win over the Orioles, the Rangers' Wes Littleton earned a save by recording the final 9 outs. Now that's a tough save.
  10. I'm looking to add a couple of fantasy sleepers to my team. Which of these guys should I add? (I can add 2 right now because of guys on the DL): Joey Votto Evan Longoria Josh Fields
  11. My reaction when I heard this was that, years later, Alou is just trying to put it in the past. Either he wants to make it seem like Bartman didn't do anything wrong so that people get off his case, or he's just sick of talking about it. I doubt he really thinks he wouldn't have caught it and has just been lying for years...what would be the point? Obviously way too late to matter as Bartman is now, and will always be, Chicago's version of Bill Buckner (sad given that he was just a fan...). Maybe I'm just naive, but I think it's just an attempt to end the ridiculous talk about that stupid ball and an innocent bystander.
  12. AL EAST 1) Boston Red Sox 2) Toronto Blue Jays 3) New York Yankees 4) Tampa Bay Rays 5) Baltimore Orioles Blue Jays will surprise and contend for the division title. AL CENTRAL 1) Detroit Tigers 2) Cleveland Indians * 3) Minnesota Twins 4) Chicago White Sox 5) Kansas City Royals Tigers will be scary good...95-100 wins. After Indians it's a toss-up. AL WEST 1) Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 2) Seattle Mariners 3) Oakland Athletics 4) Texas Rangers Seattle could challenge for the division...but won't. NL EAST 1) New York Mets 2) Philadelphia Phillies * 3) Atlanta Braves 4) Florida Marlins 5) Washington Nationals Best race in baseball - Mets and Phils. NL CENTRAL 1) Chicago Cubs 2) Milwaukee Brewers 3) Cincinnati Reds 4) Houston Astros 5) Pittsburgh Pirates 6) St. Louis Cardinals God I hope I'm wrong. I've been bred my entire life to expect disappointment from this team, and I can't help but expect more of the same this year. God I hope I'm wrong. NL WEST 1) Los Angeles Dodgers 2) Colorado Rockies 3) San Diego Padres 4) Arizona Diamondbacks 5) San Francisco Giants Dodgers are underrated by many. Look at that rotation if Schmidt comes back healthy. AL PLAYOFFS Detroit over LAA Cleveland over Boston Detroit over Cleveland NL PLAYOFFS New York over Chicago Los Angeles over Philadelphia Los Angeles over New York WORLD SERIES Detroit over Los Angeles AL MVP Miguel Cabrera NL MVP David Wright
  13. Actually I wasn't thinking about that fact that we will have an open roster spot with Cameron's suspension for the 1st 25 games (right?). I guess I should say I hope Dillon is on the team once our complete roster, including Cameron, is playing. And, that said, any chance Dillon gets to start over Gwynn or Gross during Cameron's suspension?
  14. I'll give it a shot. Now you can all complain when the newbie to the board that no one recognizes/knows wins. I apologize in advance. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  15. What are the chances Joe Dillon breaks camp in the bigs? I just love this guy. I admit I haven't been analyzing any stats or anything, but he was productive off the bench at the end of last year and continues to impress in Spring Training this year. I know, I know, it's just Spring Training, but I can't help but want this guy with the Brewers. He always seems to give productive, professional at-bats, even in a pinch hitting role. Assuming we break camp with 4 bench players...2 of those will go to Counsell and the backup catcher. That leaves 2 spots for, in my estimation, Gross, Gwynn, and Dillon. I don't know who you send down, but what do you all think is the likely outcome? And is there any chance Hart moves to CF during the 1st 25 games and Dillon gets a corner spot? I think I just need justification/tempering for my developing man-crush... (unambigufied thread title --1992)
  16. Well, he does have 4 OD starters in there: Gwynn/Gross, Fielder, Hardy, and Kendall. That said, the fact that there are only four, one of which will start Opening Day only due to Cameron's suspension, may not be coincidental.
  17. I'm checking in from time to time, and i think it helps those who check this thread later to see how the game went as well, No need to keep going if you don't want to, but it's great if you do!
  18. Last year, Kruk predicted (at the end of April or May I believe) that the Pirates would overtake the Brewers for first place in the NL Central by the end of the following month. I believe it was also reported that he was pressured by ESPN to make that prediction to stir the pot. Either way...he was still a bit off.
  19. Sounds like a nerve problem to me, something involving a pinched nerve or herniated disc. It also sounds like something that should be treatable, I am not a neurologist but would also, obviously, suggest you see a doctor. P.S. Is it sad that my 2nd post on the Brewerfan message board is medically related? I think so...
  20. If Ned were to actually institute this strategy, I would hope he bats Fielder 3rd behind Braun. I understand the logic of many here wanting Hart in the 5-hole with Fielder still clean-up, but IMO it would be a big mistake to not put Braun and Fielder back-to-back in either order. To split them up would be a waste of their ability to influence the pitches seen by the batter in front of them. Don't you think some of Braun's success last year had something to do with him batting in front of an MVP candidate?
