  1. Wasn't bad either considering they couldn't figure out bunt coverage earlier in the game. No harm in that at all in my opinion. Make the 3b make a play.
  2. So after that double, I am either going to be very happy or go outside and shovel my yard. (We got 12 inches of snow last night.)
  3. I find it hard to believe they're outplaying Boston right now. For the lack of situational hitting the Brewers have right now, the Red Sox aren't that bad today. Marco threw well, Luc and Gomez are having good days at the plate, other than that, this isn't very good. You're not going to win many games when your lineup is 5 strong. Our 6-8 hitters, 9 with the DH, haven't done anything to get anyone excited.
  4. Peavy was all over the place for one. Second is the reward of getting the 4th run isn't worth the risk of running yourself out of the inning and 3rd since you already tried to steal once in the at bat, they were probably aware of it and so Peavy was probably quicker to the plate. Segura took a seed right down the middle of the plate. With two outs, I wonder if he missed the sign for some reason.
  5. To steal the line from Hank the Dog, which was hilarious, I now refer to any bogus, short sighted, barely researched article from ESPN in the same way: "You employ Ray Lewis."
  6. It blew up over Twitter. Reds' Beat Writer, ESPN and MLB have both confirmed via Twitter. Obviously on ESPN at the moment, Phil Jackson and the Heat without LeBron trump this......
  7. Scary moment in Surprise tonight. Sal Perez hit Chapman with a line drive off his face. Medical personnel ran out right away; Chapman's father came out of the stands. Estimate of 120 MPH comebacker. The game was called in the 6th. Obviously this isn't usual. Prayers to Chapman and the Reds.
  8. Going to my 5th in a row. Sitting in TB430, Row 3!
  9. PEDs grumble grumble grumble Hopefully Braun is locked in, in full "F you, I have something to prove" mode and has a great year. .317/.360/.560 34 HRs, 116 RBI, No All Star appearance, 1 new wife, and a little Braunie in the oven by October.
  10. FJF is due for about 200 K's in a row now.....
  11. As I said before, it's been reported that MLB is waiting to make their cases on every player involved so they can lay down all the suspensions at once. So the fact that they haven't yet really isn't an indication of anything except that they aren't done interviewing all of the players yet and putting together their cases. They still may not have anything on Braun, but even if they didn't they'd wanna try to sully his name as much as they could before that was found out for sure. And this premise is bogus. (Not your premise, Prince, MLB's) Imagine for a second that Braun would have not been on the Bereavement list and went 4-4 2 HRs, a 2b, and 5 RBIs yesterday and the Brewers beat the Dbacks. Then let's say that the Dbacks lose out of the West and the Wild Card spots by one game at the end of the year. This could happen with any of the 20 guys that are "going to be suspended after the All Star break." MLB needs to put their big boy pants on and suspend the guys IMMEDIATELY if they are, in fact guilty.
  12. I can't wait until I see "Braun and A-Rod Not Going To Be Suspended; We Suck" on ESPN's Bottom Line. If MLB had enough to suspend, it would've been done by now.
  13. Yeah, isn't Aaron Rodgers in prison or something??
  14. This same thing happened to me a lot when I lived in AZ and would go to ST. Some days I would take pics at the beginning of practices, run them over to the Walgreens on the corner, and have them signed by the time I left for the day. They were very good about turning them over for me. I had a pic of Braun and Hart that I had both of them sign at the same time as they were standing by each other. Corey liked it and said if he would could get a copy, he would make it worth my while. The next day I brought him one and he gave me the batting gloves out of his back pocket. Pretty cool. Turbo, were you at the T Rats Monday? My dad won the "front row seats" in 113 and there was a guy there who seemed to take a lot of pics and offered some next to the people I was sitting by. Definitely a host family.... Just curious.
  15. Why can't we get this Yo every time out? Streak breaker today (if you know what I mean)....
  16. People are going to be very upset when they find out Scooter isn't the savior....
  17. 27-0 and Weeks hits .456 Realistically 18-9. They have to turn it around some time.
  18. The ball is every other team in baseball, the microphone is the Brewers, Sophia is Doug Melvin....uhh....did that just happen? http://www.everyjoe.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/sophia-minnaert-blooper-hit-by-baseball.gif
  19. I had the privilege of hearing former MLB ump Tim Tschida speak two Saturdays ago. Eventually, in a room of high school officials, the speech he gave turned into an incredible Q&A session. One of the first questions to come up was what he thought of replay. Obviously he wasn't for it entirely, but he gave some excellent reasons as to why, which really led me to see the issue from the other side. Last year, his crew kept a tally of what they deemed to be "reviewable plays" during a 4 game series in Boston. After going through the game on tape afterward (something they do regularly) they tallied an average of (the exact number escapes me) somewheres in the low 30s PER GAME. Can you imagine even getting buzzed from a booth how long a game would take it you reviewed everything you could? Especially if Josh Beckett were on the mound like he referenced! He also stated that even with the flag rule as in the NFL, managers may blow the flag early and then at the end we STILL would have an imperfect process where human judgement would come into play later in the game potentially. He also stated that they have to log in to an MLB database that is in every umpire dressing room in every MLB park and they are given ratings based off of their calls. Typically (no surprise) their scores are very high. If they aren't, they do face action. Finally, he said that a lot of times when you see these glaring bad calls (he referenced a phantom tag between the Yanks/Red Sox I believe) it typically comes off of a day where their travel schedules are extremely long and they are going through fatigue. They take care of their own travel schedule and always fly commercial, so if there is a delay they will often ump on about three hours of sleep. That happens all the time he said. You would think with the amount of money MLB has, they could pony up and get them chartered flights by crew. He even said, "I'm not making excuses, it just is what it is. Next time you go to your job, think about what it would be like to do it on three hours. Now add in the 40K fans and the media. It's not always glitz and glamour." Side Note: He DID know that the crew that had the Segura baserunning blunder did a 12 INNING (edit) night game on the East Coast the night before (AZ/NYY)the mess that was Jean Segura and RRR. He was a great guy and had some incredible stories that only the men in that room know. Frankly, it was an opportunity of a lifetime to sit and listen for 2.5 hours. It also really made me think twice about harping on MLB officials.
