  1. Also I really don't believe back spasms have anything to do with delivery style/motion. I get 'em occassionally and I haven't thrown a baseball in about 10 years. However, being almost 60 might have a lot to do with it. Kerry has been criticized for throwing across his body (whatever that means) which has caused strain on the shoulder and/or the elbow. Prior on the other hand was said to have perfect mechanics. Go figure! I'm sure this is no less frustrating to me as when you guys hear next month that Big Ben is going back on the DL.
  2. When you make a joke, you really ought to try to make it somewhat realistic. How did he get the out for 1/3 inning? Did he come in to the game with at least 4 guys on base? Because I sure as heck can't figure out how to score 5 runs on 5 WP's otherwise.
  3. Seeing as how you guys have only 6 games in AL parks, it's going to be hard work in all that DH'ing BTW - I think Fielder should rest for all the games against the Cubs. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. When their styles are basically the same, yes. If you are the Diamondbacks with hard throwing Randy Johnson and a soft tossing guy that almost needs a relay throw to get the ball to the plate like Doug Davis, then the answer is no.
  5. Partially correct. Hill is designated #4 because Lou wants to break up Lilly and Hill. #3 & #5 are still to be determined among the 3 you mentioned.
  6. I'm not quite sure I understand that comment. If you had signed Lilly and we signed Suppan, you guys would have won the division. Lilly was in fact the reason why we won. All Suppan had done prior to last year was had a good run in the playoffs for the Cardinals.
  7. I'm sure you guys have heard by now, but Pie had surgery to repair the twist on Monday. What you may not have heard is that was back with the club yesterday and will be out only 3-5 days. Think about 3 - 5 days for THAT surgery. I'd be out 3-5 months!
  8. That is it exactly as far as Lilly and Hill. It's not a guarantee that the number 3 guy is Dempster - could still be Lieber.
  9. Even to a Cub fan, that's a great story.
  10. Actually tailgating does take place at Wrigley. It's just not in the cars in cookie cutter parking lot. It takes place in the many bars of varying atmosphere that surround the ball park.Take the time to enjoy the experience if you come. And BTW, I'm not so sure the writer of the article is a Cubs fan. He's just some guy with an ax to grind. I happen to like Milwaukee. I like your stadium but I'd really like to be there when the roof is open for the whole game.
  11. Well a lot of people have suggested that the Reds may contend this year and they may. But next year their pitchers will have countless arm injuries. I feel sorry for Reds and their fans - no I don't - I've been to Riverfront - their fans are idiots.
  12. Hi Brewers fans - I come in peace. I am an administrator at the WindyCitySports site on yuku. I am also a frequent visitor to the yuku Astros site and I like to talk to other teams fans and get their honest opinion of what's happening around the league and especially the division. (I can hardly wait to get to that Dusty Baker thread.) I have made the trip to Miller Park a couple of times. In past years I have visited County Stadium, original Comiskey, original Busch, Riverfront, Fulton County, Veterans, and Shea and no we Cubs fans were not the ones responsible for them coming down. Also have visited the still standing Astrodome, Candlestick, and Jack Murphy as well as Dodger Stadium. My advice to those of you that want to come to Wrigley is to cheer for you team and not against the Cubs. It's what my friends and I do and we usually don't have any problems. You will not have any problems at Wrigley (except for the occassional druken idiot that happens to be at all ball parks) if you follow that tact. In fact you will have a good time if you can put up with the cold weather that is probable for that first series. Further advice: don't put up with physical abuse (verbal should be expected) call security. True fans don't want to be lumped together with the idiots. You will have backing from true Cubs fans. Trust me - I'm not from the IRS. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
