  1. Folks I have my tickets for sale for Sunday, September 1, v. the Angels. Tickets are for sale at face value, if you're interested in them, please tweet me at Rickeyh35 and I will make arrangements to meet you. Cost is $200 for the tickets which include passes to the Club. THis is also the Gorman Thomas Bobblehead game. Rickey
  2. Hey Folks- I'm sure this will be released soon, but my heart goes out to the family of the staff member of the Brewers who passed away today at the game. I wasn't at the game today and my heart aches for what went on today. He was a great guy, and someone that I will certainly miss. I'm not sure if the Brewers will be having some kind of memorial fund set up, but I certainly hope they do. DM
  3. Ok looks like the high bid for the final day is currently $350, so Wallus has the inside track on these tickets! Best of luck to everyone, and keep on bidding...you can bid in $10 increments, if it makes it easier for you, but just be sure you can afford to top the previous bid! Thanks again for making the auction a success once again, and good luck to all the final bidders! Rickey
  4. Mo's is a great bar, and if you're looking for a very good steak, I'd go across the street to their steakhouse, the bar and restaurant are off of Wisconsin and Plankinton, about a five minute walk from the hotel. There are also a lot of bars on Water St, a nice bar is Trinity, which houses three bars inside the one location, nice and if the weather is nice they'll have the outdoor patio open. If you want German food, across the street is Mader's, and if you're looking for a good pizza, besides a slice (Brick 3), is the Calderone Club, great place, and the bartender Larry who usually works weekend nights, is a great guy, very funny and he'll make you feel at home. Also, if you want a good non-smoking restaurant, Molly Cool's is also good, it is in the same building as Lucille's. You can also take the Milwaukee City bus to Miller Park, you can get more details here, but it is a shuttle that will drop you off 100 yards from the front door of Miller Park, well worth the $2.25. There are a lot of bars around Miller Park as well, but your best move is probably to hang out at the bars downtown, then catch the shuttle to MP. Also, if you want to people watch and run into players, hang out around Milwaukee & Mason Street, around the Pfister (also worth noting that a trip to the bar Blue on the top floor is very cool, there is a good Cuban restaurant there and a bunch of clubs if you're so inclined. Also you can sit at the outside tables at the Metro Hotel (good food and drinks), and people watch. Also, near Cathedral Square, which is on Jefferson and Wells, there are a number of great places to go, and if you want a great site to people watch, go to Elsa's on the Park, great food (burgers are unreal), and a cool crowd. You can also check out Braun's restaurant, there is another thread on that in the forum. Also, I'd check out the Public Market, if you like seafood, the St. Paul Fish Company is fantastic, oysters on the half shell and $1 taps of Schlitz beer on Saturdays. You'll really enjoy Milwaukee so have a great time. Rickey
  5. Hey Peavey We ate there on the Saturday night that the Cards were in town, keep in mind it just opened, so there are always a few kinks that a place has to get over, but my impression was very favorable. The bartenders were slammed when we went, but they got to us quickly, and we were seated within 20 minutes, when they told us the wait would be 30 minutes. The food was very good, I had the Blackened Seafood, not quite sure what the exact name was, but it was very good. Drinks were cold, nice wine list, and the service was great. Desserts were sick, huge and very good. Overall, I'd give it a A- (keeping in mind it just opened), and we'll be back. This isn't supposed to be Major Goolsby's, so if you're looking for that kind of food or kind of atmosphere it isn't there. It is a little upscale, but I wore jeans and felt comfortable. There were people in there wearing jerseys and hats who had come from the game, including a large group of Cardinals fans, so it was kind of an eclectic crowd. Edmonds was sitting next to us at one table and besides the ditz who went up to him with a camera while he was eating and then after being rejected for a photo sat down at their table, people were fine. Rickey
  6. Hey Josh- Yes, the winning bidder can pick from any one of the nine games offered, so if Vlad is your man you bid away...of course you can't wear his jersey to the game you can just cheer him and take photos but I don't want these tickets to go to a fan of the Rangers/Padres/Astros/Giants/Pirates who is going to sit in the seats cheering for the opponent. My seat mates would kill me, and that isn't going to happen. We once had someone sell their tickets to Cubs fans, and they never heard the end of it. Rickey
  7. DOA- You're correct that the person who buys these tickets should not re-sell them or put them on Ebay or sell them to a broker, if the person who buys them can't make the game, they can work with me to exchange them for another one of the nine games that are listed. As far as face value, that is $190 for the pair of tickets, which is why I started the bidding out at $200. rickey
  8. Now I know I've hit the big time! Just remember when he starts wondering what I'm drinking, tell him it is vitamin water!
  9. I've had numerous people come up to me over the past few years and tell me they wish they could sit in my seats for a game, well now is your chance to do just that. This is the third year I've done this, and based on the response we'll try this again this year. I'm going to have an open auction for my both of my seats to an upcoming Brewers game. There are however, a few rules that go along with sitting in these seats. First off, no foul language or upsetting of anyone sitting near you, secondly, no calling all of your friends and waving to them when you're on camera. Third, if you're not a Brewers fan don't bid on these seats, I don't want someone with a Astros/Rangers/Pirates/Giants/Padres jersey sitting in these seats. If you can abide by these three rules you're free to bid on these seats. One thing that several people have mentioned is that the game that I would put up for auction was one that they couldn't attend, so this year, I'm going to offer up several games that the winning bidder can choose from, that way if you're coming in from out of state (even let's say like California or Arizona) you'll have time to make your reservations on your favorite airline and hotel! Depending upon the response, I MAY offer a second game to someone who is willing to match the winner's final bid, they could have the second game from this list of possible games. Here are the games that are available for this charity auction: Tuesday, May 25 v. Houston Astros, 7:10 pm Friday, June 11 v. Texas Rangers, 7:10 pm Saturday, June 12 v. Texas Rangers, 6:10 pm Tuesday, July 6 v. San Francisco Giants, 7:10 pm Friday, July 9 v. Pittsburgh Pirates, 7:10 pm Saturday, July 10 v. Pittsburgh Pirates, 6:10 pm Friday, August 20 v. San Diego Padres, 7:10 pm Saturday, August 21 v. San Diego Padres, 6:10 pm Sunday, August 22 v. San Diego Padres, 1:10 pm One more thing, this is a charity auction, with 100% of the proceeds being given to one of the charities listed below. So here is your chance to get a tax deduction, feel good, watch the Brewers, and then go home and see how you look eating peanuts and hot dogs on TV. There are a few things that need to be clear before I start this auction, they are: 1) Winning bidder will choose one of the three charities (listed below) that they want to give their money to. 2) Winning bidder must provide me with a phone number by the end of the auction so I can contact them to arrange the exchange of tickets and money order. 3) Winning bidder will personally meet me to receive the tickets (unless you're out of state, then you will need to mail me the money order and I will send you the tickets) and will at that time provide me with a money order written out to one of the three charities. I will send the winning bidder a receipt from the charity so they can use that for the IRS. Please be sure you've got the funds to pay for the seats. I will have the winning bidder provide a money order to pay for the final amount of the winning bid. 4) The open auction will end on Friday, April 30, at 8:00 pm, CDT, with the highest bid at that point declared the winner. This isn't eBay, so please don't wait until the last minute to submit your bid. 5) I will personally donate $200 to the other three charities that are not chosen so no one loses out. The three charities that I've decided will benefit from this auction are: 1. American Cancer Society 2. The MACC Fund 3. Make-A-Wish Foundation While I certainly understand that there are many more charities out there that are worthy of receiving a donation, these are the three that I've decided I'd like the proceeds of the sale of my tickets to benefit. In addition to the tickets the winning bidder will also receive passes to the .300/Metavante/NYCE Club, where they can go before, during or after the game to have a drink or some food. The opening bid of the tickets will be $200. The seats are in Section 121, Row 4, Seats 9 & 10, you can put your left arm on the dugout sitting in my seat, and you can rest your beer on the dugout as well (of course it won't be up there long, the ushers will tell you to take it off). Thanks and good luck! Rickey Aka The Doorman
  10. Well, it doesn't look like this is going to go anywhere this time. Ah well, we'll look forward to 2010. The bidding is still open until Thursday, but considering there is yet to be a single bid, it looks like no one is interested this time. Rickey

  12. Actually, it was two different players, but I digress...Happy, so what did you end up with this time? Marlins home run ball
  13. That bit from the Marlins feed just made it on SportsCenter. The guy seems to enjoy getting those homers, that's for sure.Looks like it didn't turn out very well later... Happy Youngster's Bargain
  14. I'll be giving Wes a standing ovation without question. I already thanked Scott Shoeneweis for his efforts and he gave me the thumbs up! Rickey
  15. Head to Foley's across from the Empire State Building, great sports bar, tons of memorabilia. http://www.foleysny.com/ Rickey
  16. Congrats to Wallus who is now the winning bidder of the tickets, since I was never contacted by Andersoc402 to pay for these tickets. In the future please only bid if you are serious about going to the game, it isn't fair to anyone to have someone bid who doesn't plan on going or isn't going to pay what they bid, in the end it is the charity that loses out. Since the final bid was $300, I'll add in $25.02 to cover what the final bid was by Andersoc402 to Wallus' final total to the charity he picks. Again, thanks for everyone who bid and hopefully we can do this again later in the year. Rickey Aka The Doorman
  17. Just a note to Andersoc402, you've got until 6:00 tonight to send me an e-mail or call me about your winning bid, the tickets will be offered to Wallus who has already contacted me to purchase the tickets if you fail to contact me. Thanks Rickey
  18. Congrats to Andersoc402 on winning the auction for my seats with a final bid of $325.02! I sent you a note earlier today with my phone number and e-mail, please be sure to contact me today to arrange transfer of the tickets and money order. If I don't hear from you today I'll have to offer the tickets to the second place bidder of $300 to Wallus. Again, please call or e-mail me ASAP to confirm your winning bid. Rickey
  19. Hey Folks- There is still time to bid on these seats for next Tuesday's game, the high bid right now is $325.02 from Andersoc402. The deadline is 10:00 pm on Saturday night, the winning bidder should e-mail me their phone number on Saturday night to arrange pick up of the tickets on Sunday or Monday. Thanks Rickey
  20. Bingo! Yes, that is Rick, he is another long time fan that has been to about as many games as Bob has, but obviously misses the Brewers broadcast and usually misses a pitch or two thanks to wanting something to drink or eat! Thanks Patrick! Rickey
  21. Ok, I found out who he is, his name is Rick Schuller (I'm not sure how to spell his last name) but he is the guy that sits across from Baseball Bob and has glasses and wavy hair. I also forgot to mention that he ALWAYS brings a glove to the game. Rickey
  22. Took some digging, but Baseball Bob's name is Robert Koehler, he is not the person who co-authored the book about the American Association Milwaukee Brewers. There is very little out there on him, but I do know he was on a Brewers commerical about four years ago, along with the dentist who has season tickets and is usually there getting autographs before most games. If you look at the photos of Prince swinging a bat you'll see Bob, he's bald and is right next to the dugout. I don't know what the guy with the wavy hair and glasses name is, but I know that if you have a copy of the Brewers DVD, on the game broadcast, there is a shot of him grabbing his head after that homer and Braun's curtain call. He sits right above the dugout, across from Bob. Rickey
  23. Yes! I'll do some research and see if I can get a couple of photos that I can post. Rickey
  24. That's my feeling as well. I'm just sort of hesitant to launch the feature with just two fans. I suppose The Maniac might be worth inclusion, though.Brian et al: First off I think it is very cool to have a Brewers Fan HOF, and I'd be honored and humbled to be added to something like this, but I must say I don't think I deserve to go in with the "first class" of members. I really think The Maniac, Happy Youngster and Baseball Bob should be the first class of members. A lot of people know me, The Maniac & Happy because of TV, or we're on the jumbo tron, but one guy who doesn't get a lot of play (although he was in one Brewer TV commerical) is Baseball Bob. He sits right next to the Brewers dugout and has a single seat, he's only missed one game since 1990, and that was because it was for his divorce hearing. He once told me he hadn't missed a Brewers broadcast since 1974!!! I mean, NOT ONE! I don't think he's missed a pitch (which means he isn't leaving to get anything to eat or drink or otherwise) since 1990 as well. I'm a fan, but there is no one that compares to Baseball Bob as the ULTIMATE BREWERS FAN! I know I get a lot of publicity because of where my seats are, and that frankly if they were three seats over a lot of people wouldn't know me from Adam, but if the Brewers main TV camera for the side shots was on the third base side, EVERYONE would know Baseball Bob. There is also a guy who sits behind the Brewers dugout in the first row with glasses that is a huge fan, and he too doesn't miss any games. I think if you watch the broadcast of the Brewers clinching game against the Cubs last year, there is a shot of him after Braun's homerun with a great look on his face as he is cheering Braun that says it all about the moment. So thanks for all the kind notes about me, but I know there are a lot bigger Brewers fans out there, and the majority of them are right here on Brewerfan.net. We've got a great fan base, and I'm so happy that the folks at ESPN finally decided to show the Brewers on Sunday Night Baseball. Too bad we didn't destroy the Cubs that night! Cheers Rickey AKA The Doorman
