So time to start taking bets on who DH's tomorrow. I'll go with Fielder and Kotsay plays 1B.
-
I hope we are interested. Doug should get on that now.
-
Well, just looked at upcoming pitching matchups and it's not great. Getting Lackey, Lester, Wakefield in Boston isn't bad. But we face Hellickson, Price, Davis when we come back home to play the Rays. Ain't gonna be easy.
-
Inexcusable to not at least get a split in this series. I hope they go into Boston ready to play well, or a sweep is on the horizon.
-
C'mon Rickie, what are you doing?!?! Twice in the same game. Ugh.
-
I can forgive him for doing it once, but twice? This is just ridiculous. Especially when down 4.
-
Agree with that. The worst part is we could make 3-4 moves to improve the MLB club without even trading anybody and it would make a pretty big difference.Braddock, Green, Boggs in; Herrera/Estrada, 1 of Yuni/Wilson/Counsell, Kotsay out.I'd also bring McClendon back, and Yuni is for sure who I would drop out of those 3.
-
I think we'd all take Braddock back now for sure. He has been outstanding against lefties. Only hitting .105 against him this year.
-
I'm with you on that. All that should matter is production, and he has been great this year. J.C. Romero just got DFA'd by the Phillies, I wouldn't mind picking him up. Lefties are hitting only .208 off him this year, which isn't bad. He was just struggling a little vs. righties.
-
Wow, our new lefty is great!
-
Get Betancourt out of the game. He had no play there. Idiotic throw.
-
Agreed. I thought it was gonna happen when Counsell got 2 starts in a row against he Cardinals, but no such luck.
-
I hate Betancourt. I'd rather have him K there to give Kottaras a chance to go yard and give us the lead.
-
http://www.cbssports.com/.../entry/22297882/30056431 Just DFA'd by the Padres. He's an interesting option as a righty bat off the bench. Don't know if we need him, but he would provide some pop. Wilson has been pretty good in that role so far though. Thoughts?
-
http://www.mlbtraderumors...or-assignment.html He was just DFA'd by the Phillies. They didn't use him much as a LOGGY apparently, so he struggled a bit. I think he'd be a good pickup as another experienced lefty in our pen though. Thoughts?
-
Fielder and Weeks both in the derby would be epic. I've wanted to see Weeks in a derby ever since he came up, and we all know what Fielder can do.
-
Well, now can everyone get back on the Weeks bandwagon? Guy has been making some amazing plays the last 2 days.
-
And the ump takes one right to the stones. That cannot feel good.
-
Yeah, that was really stupid. The last person you wanna run on in their outfield is Fukudome, and it was right in front of him. Don't get that one at all. I can understand being aggressive in certain situations, but that isn't one of them. Not gonna get on him much though. He had a great game last night, and is having a great season.
-
Nieves can defend ok and not hit, Kottaras can hit and not defend, so I think Rivera may be the happy medium. Pretty good on defense and pretty good hitter.
-
Same could be said about Counsell. Other than those 2 consecutive starts he got recently, he hardly starts any games. It especially makes no sense because Betancourt and McGehee have been so bad. I don't see how it would hurt to get Counsell and Wilson in there periodically. Gomez I could care less about, but those other 2 should start more games.
-
It's nice to see Lucroy able to take the day game after night game off today. I guess we have that luxury now with a backup catcher who can actually hit.
-
Yeah, I do think it's a pretty obvious choice to try to resign the guys you just gave up most of your top prospects for.
-
Interesting that Kottaras is playing today. It's pretty clear that they are already comfortable with him playing more than just catching Wolf. Why? Because of his bat. What a surprise that is.
-
Crap, this really sucks. I don't mind Herrera as a LOGGY, but I still want Braddock on the roster. If he was replacing Estrada this would be a good move.
