  1. People are speculating that it was a cost-cutting move, which sucks. People are also suspecting the move was made to make room for Bill Michaels to join the station, which would also suck. If they were gonna dump someone for Michaels, it should've been Gary Ellerson. All he knows is the Packers, which is basically the same for Michaels.
  2. Yeah, I agree with dumping one. I'd get rid of Wilson, because at least Yuni offers some power off the bench. I know he hasn't shown it a lot, but he has more power than Wilson. If we bring in a new SS to play everyday, and already have Counsell on the bench, then we don't need Wilson also. Would rather have Yuni in that instance. Although I wouldn't mind dumping both of them.
  3. I like that trade a lot. Would be nice to bring in a couple players. Can probably get who they really wanted at 14 anyway.
  4. I was very disappointed to see this. I was gonna post it myself, but I really didn't want it to turn into an argument about whether or not Doug was good at his job. I am a fan of his, and loved his show. Listened to it every morning during the summer for the last 4 years. I think he was the best out of everyone at WSSP. Not a fan of The Big Show really, so Doug and Mike was my favorite show. Sad to see him go. He is a great guy, and a big time Wisconsin sports fan. One of the only guys from Milwaukee on that station. Really hate the move, but I definitely wish him the best. Hope he lands somewhere else in Milwaukee. You might wanna change the thread title. He didn't leave, he was basically fired or let go, however you wanna put it.
  5. I've come to the point where honestly, I can't really blame Roenicke for those comments. Counsell and Wilson might be ok for a very short time, but they don't really bring much to the table. I really don't think any of those 3 are the answer. Doug has to trade for a better option, or it really doesn't even matter who they play at SS. As much as people think that Counsell or Wilson would be better options, it just isn't the case. Counsell seems to have hit the wall, and Wilson isn't very good either. The only thing they offer is a little bit better defense. I think Ron realizes that Yuni sucks, but he also realizes that his other two options aren't great either. It's really all Doug's fault at this point. He needs to get Ron a better option at SS, or he'll just keep running Yuni out there. I'm frustrated about it like everyone else, but it is what it is for now. Until we bring in someone else we'll just have to keep dealing with it. Roenicke has to defend his players, and that's what he's doing until Melvin gives him a reason to not have to. Throwing Yuni under the bus won't really help his cause at this point. He gave up on Gomez because he had a better option in Morgan once he was healthy. It's not like he's afraid to go to a better option if he thinks it's there. The rest is up to Melvin.
  6. Escobar will be hitting .220 again by the end of July. Not that worried about him becoming some star player or anything.
  7. 2B Rickie Weeks CF Nyjer Morgan LF Ryan Braun 1B Prince Fielder 3B Casey McGehee RF Corey Hart SS Yuniesky Betancourt C Jonathan Lucroy P Zack Greinke Well, at least Braun is back tonight. Braun at half strength, or even 25% is better than Kotsay. I'm guessing Yuni bought himself another month of starts by getting 2 hits last night.
  8. I think the problem with getting a new arena is that about 90% of Milwaukee could care less if the Bucks relocated. It is going to be a very tough task to get more people interested in this team. Especially enough to be able to get a new arena.
  9. Tonight is the night for Greinke to really step up and be lights out. We really, really need it.
  10. This is the misconception everyone seems to have. The owner decides whether or not the team moves. As long as Kohl is the owner, this team isn't going anywhere. I don't see him selling anytime soon, because he won't sell to anyone wanting to move the team. We'll have plenty of time to rebuild and start competing again while Kohl is still owner. If that happens, then he should find a buyer willing to keep the team in Milwaukee.
  11. Agreed, we must get Rickie in the all-star game as a starter. Closing the gap another 100,000 votes in one week is a good sign.
  12. I'm in heavy favor of a rebuild. Wouldn't bother me at all as a fan, because I know that the Bucks will never get anywhere with the current team they have. First step to a rebuild is trading Bogut. Then we try to stockpile lottery picks in anyway possible. If Hammond can't dump his crappy contracts now that's ok. Just sit on them and if they suck, that helps the rebuild, if they play well, it build trade value so we can dump them at the deadline or next offseason. No one on this team should be considered untouchable. There is no one close to that good on the roster.
  13. Yeah, all it shows is that Brewers fans vote a lot. Which is good, because we need to get Rickie in there.
  14. Rickie gained another 100,000 votes on Phillips. Gotta keep voting for him, and he should be able to catch him.
  15. Because the Jays just signed him to a 2 year extension yesterday.
  16. Yeah, I think Melvin is just going to wait until close to the deadline to make a move. Has to see what all of his options are first. But for now, Roenicke should be smart enough to just platoon Counsell and Wilson at SS. Not sure how much longer Betancourt has to suck before he hits the bench.
  17. I wonder if Melvin is more looking for a little bit younger option to trade for at SS in hopes that he can fill the position for more than this year. Or in other words, I'm not sure that he's just looking to trade for a veteran stopgap.
  18. Well, can't say I feel bad for the Cards on this one. Plugging Berkman in at 1B and Jay in RF isn't a bad fallback though. The Cardinals always have their classic over achievers.
  19. Here's some great quotes from Roenicke I just saw on the Brewers website about the Brewers thinking Betancourt would provide power. "[it's] not the consistent power," manager Ron Roenicke said. "He's driven some balls pretty good to right-center, which I think he needs to do to get his average going." "I think once Yuni starts getting a lot of base hits, where he's comfortable in what he's doing, I think the home runs will show up," he said. Um, Ron. Yuni isn't going to get a lot of base hits. He has a hard enough time hitting the ball out of the infield, much less get multiple hits. He's never going to get going. He's incapable of hitting for average, much less power. How he hit 16 HR's last year is beyond me. He's a horrible player.
  20. Yep, he was just as fat.
  21. Yeah, and he batted 2nd. LOL. That's hilarious. He also went 0-4 with a K.
  22. Yes, but how will they get a star on the team? Won't be able to sign one or trade for one. Only way is through the draft, and it won't happen with where we draft on a yearly basis. Need to tank, which will never happen with Bogut on the team. We might be a good team with him at some point, and a playoff team, but never a contender.
  23. Not saying there is. But to get high in future lotteries they have to tank. Won't happen with Bogut on the team.
  24. Maybe this injury is karma for watching his home run yet again. Finally caught up to him.
