  1. I don't understand Wilson over Boggs either. We really don't NEED another backup IF like Melvin seems to think we do. Unless someone gets injured, we are fine with just Counsell. I'd much rather have Boggs as our right-handed pinch-hitter. Wilson is just not a good option in that role at all. Frankly, he won't be any better than Almonte. In this situation, not sure why they didn't just wait for Almonte to come off the DL then.
  2. Yeah, we just did that with Herrera. Wilson just doesn't have options remaining.
  3. Basically, Wilson is another Cruz. Maybe slightly worse, but I'm not sure yet. This move tells me that Melvin regrets not keeping Cruz. That basically sums it up. And to think, this all could've been avoided if he had just chosen to keep Cruz over Almonte. Erick Almonte of all people. Oh well I guess.
  4. A lineup we could realistically see if McGehee continues to struggle, and Morgan keeps hitting would be something like this. Weeks Morgan Braun Fielder Hart McGehee Betancourt Lucroy This isn't the exact lineup I would go with, but I could see Roenicke going with it.
  5. That sounds nice but trade what and for who? I'd love Reyes, but I just don't think the Brewers have the guns unless they want to completely drain what little is left in the farm. Reyes is a difference maker and will not come cheaply since the Mets could just sit on him and take the picks. There are plenty of other SS other than Reyes that are better than Wilson. Like say Brendan Ryan from the Mariners, Furcal, Bartlett, Ronny Cedeno, Hardy, etc. I think there will be plenty of cheaper options than Reyes available around the deadline.
  6. I doubt he'll take playing time from Yuni. Counsell will most likely do that, so Wilson is there as an extra IF to protect us.
  7. I guess I don't have a problem with adding another backup infielder. But I'd rather just trade for a better one than pickup a guy like Wilson. Maybe they are planning on giving Counsell some more playing time now at SS and 3B, so an extra IF would come in handy.
  8. This is dumb. I'd rather have Boggs or Rivera on the roster than this guy. We never need 2 backup IFs anyway.
  9. With the bottom of our order coming up, and they way they have failed so far today, I'm not optimistic.
  10. Good, we're bringing in our defensive ace Betancourt to play SS.
  11. I would've, but Roenicke seems to refuse to use him for more than one inning like Macha did.
  12. Probably because the inning took so long, and he was sitting forever. Didn't wanna throw him back out there with 100 pitches already. Original plan was probably to put him back in. Hawkins wasn't warming right away.
  13. Greinke now has 39 Ks and 3 BB this year. 13:1 K/BB Ratio. Wow.
  14. Alright, Prince with another RBI. Way to go big fella!
  15. Yeah, Kotsay and Gomez both suck, but Plush is back Friday so it's ok. I can get over it.
  16. I don't think they have. That's about as good as it gets right there.
  17. Totally agree. I really hate hearing the argument about players being pitched definitely based on where the hit in the lineup. In actuality, the difference is extremely minimal, if different at all. I'd rather just have our worst hitter hitting 8th. That makes more sense to me. I don't see why Betancourt should hit in front of anyone in this lineup. Just put the 7 best hitters 1-7, and Betancourt 8th.
