  1. Bill is an idiot. There's 2 outs, and he'd score from second on a hit anyway. That steal didn't really make a difference. If there was 1 out, then yes.
  2. Damn, I thought that was gone for sure. I hate Dodger Stadium.
  3. Good thing Roenicke finally woke up and made the move. Just flip Lucory and Betancourt and I would love this lineup.
  4. I had a feeling all along that the Marcum deal would be our best deal in the end, and that might happen. Just had a good feeling about him moving from the AL East to the NL, when he was already pitching well to begin with.
  5. The Marcum acquisition has been absolutely huge for this team. Without him, we'd be in a lot of trouble right now. I'm sure Greinke will pick it up, and make that trade look good also. I think the Morgan acquisition will end up looking great by the end of the year also, and I have to agree that Estrada has been huge too. But for all we know, the biggest acquisition may not have been made yet. Who knows what Melvin may do at the deadline. May just be a few small moves to upgrade the pen and possibly SS, but that could be huge for a playoff run.
  6. Wow, that is crazy to think about. Looking back though, it's definitely a good thing.
  7. Yeah, I think this is a good sign for Rivera. Have to think Nieves' job is in jeopardy here. I'm glad to see Rivera back. Also glad Green was DFA'd, and hopefully we never see him back. Overall though I'm not really sure what this move means. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  8. RIP Harmon. Class act. The game and the world will miss you!
  9. Mattingly is making some really odd managing decisions this inning. Walks Fielder, then brings in a lefty to face McGehee, then pulls the lefty.
  10. Why did they bring in a lefty here? Makes no sense at all.
  11. How many times does Gomez have to fail in a key situation before Roenicke takes him out of the 2 spot?
  12. Beautiful job getting out of that Marcum. Hopefully Loe and Ax can close this out now. I'd consider leaving Marcum in there, but they'll probably have to pinch-hit for him.
  13. Marcum starting out with another rocky 7th inning here.
  14. Oh crap, hopefully Gomez isn't hurt badly on that. Can't afford to lose him. We have no one else to play CF at anywhere above a below average level.
  15. Gomez pops out quite often. All I'm trying to say there. So when he runs down a ball that no one else in the league would probably get to, will you say "what a surprise, Gomez caught that." My point is everyone focuses on everything negative he does and not enough of his positive. Like many have said, if he was hitting 7th or 8th, his offense wouldn't be as big of a deal.Geez, I make one comment and people automatically assume that I hate Gomez and only criticize him. He is great defensively, and I don't mind him if he's hitting low in the order. Either way, his crappy at-bats will piss me off though. All I was doing was making a comment that he pops out a lot. I didn't say anything else about him. He definitely brings value to this team in certain areas. I love his defense. I would just like to see him utilize his speed more with bunts and ground balls. He won't get anywhere swinging for the fences, but we all know that won't change. He is who he is.
  16. I can't believe a baseball player made an out.Gomez pops out quite often. All I'm trying to say there.
  17. Truthfully, as much as everyone criticizes Roenicke for keeping Lucroy in the 8 hole, I have to say it does make some sense. The 8 spot is really a difficult spot to hit in, and it is important in the NL. Everyone saw how Hardy struggled in the 8 hole years back. So it is good that Lucroy is hitting well in the spot. It definitely makes our lineup stronger. Now if only Hart could get going so he can fill the 2 hole. Then we'd have a very solid lineup. We just need to get Gomez out of that 2 hole is all. Doesn't have to be Lucroy to replace him if he's succeeding elsewhere in the lineup. I'd like to see Hart be there.
  18. Still wondering how many horrible games Gomez needs to have at the plate to be permanently dropped from the 2 spot. It seems infinite at this point.
