  1. I really hope Melvin realizes that, but somehow I doubt he'll trade for a new SS.
  2. I'd rather just drop Braun a spot to cleanup, bat Hart or Weeks 3rd, and the other one 2nd.My thought on May 5, 2011, assuming Gamel is 1B and I don't know our SS next season, I'd put the lineup at: CF Nyjer RF Hart 2B Weeks LF Braun 3B McGehee 1B Gamel C Lucroy SS ? I like that lineup. I'd love to see something similar to that next year. Not sure if they'll drop Weeks from leadoff or not, but they should.

  4. Yeah, I'd have to agree. It definitely pisses me off that we have him behind Kotsay and Almonte. He should've been on the opening day roster to begin with. But now, he's probably not going anywhere. For him, it looks like a 5th OF spot at best, and only if someone gets hurt.
  5. Yeah, but there's no need to do that unless we need the spot.
  6. I'm really not gonna get on Hart when he's only had about 2 weeks of at-bats. He had no spring training. But yes, I hope he starts hitting soon.
  7. The only position I could see us trying to upgrade defensively is SS. Fielder and McGehee aren't going anywhere. I agree that it would be nice to upgrade the defense, but there's no way we'll trade either McGehee or Fielder. Fielder would only go if we are already out of the race around the trade deadline. I think we'll be much improved defensively next year once Gamel is at 1B and somebody better is at SS. This year we might just have to deal with it. It shouldn't be as bad as it is now the whole season.
  8. I agree on McGehee, but I just don't see it happening. Maybe in the offseason, but still that is doubtful.
  9. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/121288758.html I'll throw this in here too. Boggs was outrighted to make room for Greinke. So Estrada does get to stick around for now. He'll still probably go when Parra returns I would guess.
  10. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/121288758.html Has 3 days to accept or decline assignment. Surprising move to me. I guess they are keeping Estrada around for awhile. Maybe just until Parra is activated.
  11. The game will start closer to 6:55, because the game just ended 10 minutes ago.
  12. Idk what's wrong with having a Greinke rally towel. It will be a cool keepsake as Rock said. It's gonna be electric in Miller Park Monday, so why not add to it? I'm very happy that I'll be there.
  13. This inning really hurt Estrada's pitch count. Can't afford to make your starter through pitches he doesn't need to in a doubleheader.
  14. Idk why they had the contact play on with the pitcher running, but I'll take it. And then McCann gets a hit anyway. So Rickie cost us one run so far.
  15. Maybe for now while Hart is getting back in shape, but no way will Hart sit once he's 100% ready to go. We can back it off to twice a month then, or preferably not at all.
  16. I believe the rule is that if he gets credited with the win in game one he gets to stay in the dugout. If he gets a no-decision he can hang out in the bullpen or the clubhouse if he likes. If he gets the loss he's gotta hit the road. It does really suck for him if he has to leave, especially if he gets the win. Thanks for the win Marco, now get out of here and get on that plane to Nashville. Rough business.
  17. CC mishandled the ball trying to pick it up, and would have gotten him at first with a clean pick up, but they gave LaRoche a hit instead of calling it an error. So that one play cost him the no-no.
  18. Apparently the entire crowd decided not to show up for the first game.
  19. Why? Players that are not on the 25 man sit in the dugout, like Hart before he was officially activated. Wouldn't it be basically the same circumstances? I assume the league has a policy against just anyone being in the dugout, but he would have a reason. Maybe the Dodgers should start selling dugout seats to celebrities to handle their cash flow problems. Just think what press Charlie Sheen would have going crazy in the the dugout. Yeah, but those players are on the DL, and still technically on the roster. Estrada wouldn't be on the roster. I feel like in the playoffs also, anyone not on the roster isn't allowed to be with the team.
  20. Yep, they should've just taken out Kotsay then, and went Lucroy, Counsell, Gomez at 6, 7, 8.
