  1. Yeah, Sedar hasn't been great at 3rd this year. But it's his first year doing it, so I'll give the guy a break for awhile.
  2. I agree that this will be the lineup when Hart comes back. I don't mind it. I think it will work out pretty well.
  3. I don't see why we didn't just flip Gomez and Counsell. I know Gomez sucks at 2, but you might as well just lead him off in this situation. Why would you ever want Counsell ahead of him on the bases?

  5. Pretty sure it's Power by Kanye West. At least that's what it was at the beginning of the year. That was his song last year, so it might've been used to start the year. I doubt that's what he's using now.
  6. I said we'd try to extend Greinke and Marcum in the offseason, and if not Gamel, then who will play first base? I think he'll be fine.
  7. Yeah, I think we'll go hard at Marcum and Greinke. It just seems like we've given up completely on Prince, and I can't say I blame Doug for that. He's already preparing for Prince to depart by playing Gamel at 1B in AAA. I just think that he'll spend his time this offseason trying to extend Marcum and Greinke, rather than making another futile attempt to keep Prince. We're probably better off with Gamel on the cheap for 5 or 6 years, and using the money to pay pitchers. We will be able to go cheap in CF, C, and 1B. We will probably have to sign a SS though, because we really don't have a legit SS option in the minors. Farris could be useful as a utility guy though when Counsell retires. Other than that we have guys locked up at the other positions. So, we should focus on spending our money to extend Greinke and Marcum at this point.
  8. Agreed, just the fact that Boras is his agent tells me that he's out looking to take the highest offer he gets. Any Boras client is out for the same thing, MONEY. It's pretty obvious that he'll just take the highest offer he gets, and move on. I can't fault him for that either. It's like the CC situation, there was no way he could turn down the Yankees offer. Just like that situation, there's no way we'll be able to match the other offers Prince gets. I just foresee someone giving him a ridiculous offer like the Yankees gave CC. Not saying the money will be similar, by Boras will get him paid somehow.
  9. He'll be fine. I'm sure he could field, and do everything else without pain. The only problem is gripping a bat. I'm sure it'll feel better in a few days tops. If it was broken, then we all know the timetable for that. Lucroy had the same thing. It's mostly about gripping the bat. Good thing it's just a sprain though, and I'll bet he gets back in the lineup by Monday. He could probably use a few days off anyway, because he seems to be a little funk right now. Just give Counsell a couple starts, and we'll be good to go.
  10. Yeah, love to hear that comment from Braun. It sure seems like his approach is better this year, and this frame of mind is why. Braun is gonna have a monster year, and will be a star for us for years to come. It's gonna be fun to watch him play here for his whole career. It's a great feeling knowing that he'll be here.
  11. Who cares? No one can here it over the standing ovations anyway.
  12. Yeah, Fielder likes it here and all, and I'm sure he'd rather stay. The problem is that we won't be able to give him the best offer. It'll be hard to turn down the money other teams offer him, and I highly doubt he'll do it. It would be nice to see, but then again we might be better served to just make sure we lock up Greinke and/or Marcum.
  13. I'm just happy he'll be back by Tuesday. We need him desperately right now. It was good to see Gomez and Kotsay swing the bat well tonight though.
  14. Like it a lot. I hope it debuts tonight.
  15. Yeah, I agree. He's not the only one who for some reason thinks Prince is good in the field. There's no doubt Prince is a great player, a good athlete, and can run decently for his size. He puts it all on the line out on the diamond. He just isn't a good fielder overall. Not sure why most writers seem to think he is, but it is what it is. I would think that most teams can make their own assumptions on his abilities, but you'd have to think what analysts and writers say does have some bearing on how other teams view him.
  16. Isn't that what Pujols wants also? If Pujols somehow gets that, I don't see Fielder equally it. However, if Prince keeps up his huge year, I could see someone coming close to that.Pujols wants 10 years 300 million. Last I heard.Oh yeah, I think you're right. Maybe 8 years 200 million is the highest he was getting offered. I can't remember exactly.

  18. Yeah, that would've been nice. Apparently a good start with the bat makes him an all-around good player, and an excellent fielder.
  19. Do this many people in baseball actually believe he's a good defender? If they do, then he's definitely going to get extremely overpaid. Apparently they've never actually watched him play first base. Most days he looks serviceable over there, but there's plenty of times where he looks absolutely horrible. He isn't gonna last at first base for very long. An NL team will be sorry if they sign him and 4 or 5 years down the road when he can't field at all, and they are still paying him $23 million a year. Honestly, I wouldn't give him anything beyond a 5-year deal, and 4 years is probably even better. An AL team could stretch that because of the availability of the DH.
  20. if you're brandon boggs, nothing's official until the paperwork is completed. he was told he would make the team out of spring training, only to have newly acquired nyjer morgan derail those plans. It is official. It was announced after the Nashville game last night. He is currently listed on the roster on the Brewers website also.
  21. No, because we are carrying 13 pitchers. A pitcher will go when Hart is activated. Then either Boggs or Almonte will go when Morgan comes back. So, you're saying we're going to carry six outfielders? I find that pretty hard to believe.Well, we really don't have a better option at this point. Unless we find an actual decent backup infielder. I don't put Almonte in that category.
  22. Well, it is slightly. It only decreases a couple million a year at the end. What people mean is that most of the money is in the last 5 years of the deal.
  23. I wonder why they would put it retro to the 18th? Isn't the last time he appeared the 17th?
  24. I believe they would have to add him to their 25-man roster. But yes, it's still telling.
