  1. Well, this announcement makes Yo in Game 1 and Greinke in Game 2 a lock.
  2. Congratulations, Brian Anderson! Richly deserved! Honestly, I thought he'd keep getting passed over for national personalities or name-recognition guys like Chip Caray. Definitlely congrats to BA, but with each bit of national recognition, I fear we get closer to losing him. Yep, much congrats, but I agree. I'm getting afraid of losing him. It would be a shame.
  3. Yeah, I have seen a couple MLB writers say that the Brewers will get earlier games on both days just because they won't be the marquee matchups. That would solve the Saturday problem, but not sure what the start time of the first game on Sunday will be.
  4. Here's some easy changes to make it better. This puts Gallardo and Greinke on a pretty much regular schedule the whole time. Just gotta decide whether or not they would want Marcum or Wolf with 2 WS games or 2 NLCS games. Can't really predict how it would all work out though. Game 1- Saturday, October 1st- RHP Yovani Gallardo (7) Game 2- Sunday, October 2nd- RHP Zack Greinke (6) Game 3- Tuesday, October 4th- RHP Shaun Marcum (7) Game 4- Wednesday, October 5th (if ness)- LHP Randy Wolf (8) Game 5- Friday, October 7th (if ness)- RHP Yovani Gallardo (5) NLCS (depending on how many games it takes us to win NLDS- assuming 5 for now) Game 1- Sunday, October 9th- RHP Zack Greinke (6) Game 2- Monday, October 10th- RHP Shaun Marcum (5) Game 3- Wednesday, October 12th- RHP Yovani Gallardo (4) Game 4- Thursday, October 13th- LHP Randy Wolf (7) Game 5- Friday, October 14th (if ness)- RHP Zack Greinke (4) Game 6- Sunday, October 16th- (if ness)- RHP Shaun Marcum (5) Game 7- Monday, October 17th- (if ness)- RHP Yovani Gallardo (4) World Series (depending on how many games it takes us to win NLCS- assuming 7 for now) Game 1- Wednesday, October 19th at Miller Park- RHP Zack Greinke (4) Game 2- Thursday, October 20th at Miller Park- LHP Randy Wolf (7) Game 3- Saturday, October 22nd at AL Park- RHP Yovani Gallardo (4) Game 4- Sunday, October 23rd at AL Park- RHP Shaun Marcum (6) Game 5- Monday, October 24th at AL Park (if ness)- RHP Zack Greinke (4) Game 6- Wednesday, October 26th at Miller Park (if ness)- LHP Randy Wolf (5) Game 7- Thursday, October 27th at Miller Park (if ness)- RHP Yovani Gallardo (4)
  5. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/130635818.html Thought this belonged here. BA is the lead announcer for TBS for the playoffs with Smoltz and Darling. The rest of the teams are listed in there. Please not Stockton and Brenly for any Brewers games!
  6. Yeah, that looks good to me. It's pretty easy to get Marcum on the road there, so I say do it. Give Wolf the 1 start, and then Yo and Greinke get 1 home and 1 road.
  7. I jinxed them. My job is done.
  8. I was able to get 4 in the loge. Pretty happy with that.
  9. Hey guys, I have some extras in the loge assuming we get home field and the games on Sunday. 2 in Sec 231 Row 2. 2 in Sec 233 Row 5. Both for Game 2. If anyone is interested PM me an offer.
  10. Just saw on Haudricourt's twitter that Roenicke told him Yo won't throw on Wednesday. Basically said he gets the feeling the Roenicke has all but announced him as the Game 1 starter.
  11. I would personally weigh that very little. While we expect players in general to perform better at home, Greinke's 2011 home/road split is flukishly large. In contrast, he actually had a better ERA on the road last year. As is with many of the seemingly unexplainable splits baseball fans latch onto, the most likely explanation for it is going to be largely centered around luck. If someone wants to use it as a tiebreaker, great.I do want to use it as a tiebreaker. Between him and Gallardo for Game 1. I go with Greinke because of this stat.
  12. I don't mind trying to get Braun a day off, but not in this situation. We need him tonight.
  13. How is Greinke being 10-0 at Miller Park this year meaningless?
  14. Idc what the statistical chances are of a Cardinals sweep, I just think it'll happen. The Cards are hot and have been playing great baseball, they need to win to get in, and the Astros are the worst team in baseball. It adds up. Pressure is on the Braves to take 2 against the Phillies.
  15. Greinke being so good at home probably makes it a slam dunk for him to get Games 1 and 5 if we get home field. At least that's what I would guess the coaches would think. If we were guaranteed not to have home field I honestly believe they'd hold Greinke back to Game 3. Roenicke likes to play by the numbers, and in this case it's probably a smart move when you can do it. Won't really have a choice in the later round as much.
  16. Those are central times. Listed right now on my guide on u-verse. For sunday it's 5 and 830. I'm assuming these aren't completely official though. Gotta figure they are close.
  17. So for the lottery is it that you can buy 4 tickets for one game, or spread the 4 over both games? I was a little confused by that. Although it's probably easier to just try for 4 to one game either way, assuming you need that many.
  18. Yeah, we did lose 4 of 7 against the D'Backs during the season, but I don't put much stock in that. I do think we're a better team. Not really scared of them like I am of the Cards and Phillies right now. The Phillies have the talent, and the Cards are red hot. But with the Cards likely winning the wild card, we avoid both so I think that's a good thing. Hoping for a battle in the NLCS with one of those teams. That being said, we have the best chance to get their by playing the banged up Braves so that's what I want.
  19. The game times for Saturday on my guide right now are listed as 11, 230, 6, and 930. Not sure how that'll work if there's at least 2 and possibly 3 games in the eastern time zone, and only one in the central. I would assume they were hoping one would be a pacific time zone game originally. Have to think these times will change. Maybe switch it to 11, 2, 5, and 8. So unless Texas takes home field, it would look to me that the Brewers would get the 8 pm game as the only central time zone game.
  20. Yeah, the Cards will sweep the Astros for sure. Then Atlanta has to win 2 against Philly and Lee, Oswalt, Hamels to force a playoff. Don't like their chances. I think their only hope is that the Cards somehow lose a game in that series and they get a one-game playoff.
  21. They did this when they clinched in '08, so it doesn't surprise me. It's basically a send off to the team for the playoffs. I like it. I'll be going.
  22. Well, I think it would be easy to avoid conflicts anyway. Just throw the Brewers in the 830 game on Sunday, because the Phillies are eastern time zone and that's too late for them. Then on Saturday give them one of the 2 early games. I think both will happen.
  23. Yeah, that makes sense. Really, I think I would be comfortable with Yo, Greinke, or Marcum starting Game 1. I'd prefer Yo or Greinke though. If I had to choose, I would pick Yo for sure though. I think he can handle the pressure of a Game 1 and possible Game 5 the most. Marcum hasn't been good at home for some reason, and I guess Greinke would be a good bet too since he's been so good at home. I think it'll be either Yo or Greinke in Game 1. I think it'll be those 2 in Games 1 and 2 most likely. The only way that won't happen is if Roenicke decides he needs Yo for a full start on Wednesday. Then he'd probably go Greinke, Marcum, Yo, Wolf.
  24. I heard Game 1 and 2 will both be early games to avoid viewership conflict with the UW/Nebraska and Packers games.
  25. Arizona seems content to line up their rotation for the playoffs. They don't have a great lineup for pitchers the last 3 games.
