  1. I don't know everyone's capacity so I'm sure a bunch of these teams can't do it for one reason or another, but spots I think he'd do well: Pittsburgh SF Rams Indy Our entire division but obviously an lol Just a hunch but I feel like NO and NE are looking for more long term solutions.
  2. The gloating doesn't bother me at all. All's fair. The Packers choke so much, there's really nothing any team's fans can do to make me more disappointed in them than I already am. I own the team's identity now. They've earned it. But c'mon. Be willing to own the doublespeak and the absurdity of the "I quit the league because of morals" when it's clear as day you quit because the team sucked, and there's a paper trail that you waited until they had a winning record to hop on. Just laugh at it like anyone would.
  3. IMO, you experience more joy as a Browns fan, seeing them make the playoffs and win one game, after a ton of horrible losing, than the Packers have given me for 10 years. Lower expectations are easier to surpass. The Brewers postseason losses never hit me like the Packers. Because I expect the Packers to compete and see a team usually good enough to go far. They just lose in truly agonizing ways.
  4. It is literally exactly what you said. Even the phrase "end of story." Also, there are no wounds. I find you incredibly entertaining because you doublespeak more than any poster here. Like when you said this during Week 1 NFL pregame of this season. I'd stop bringing it up if you would just admit it was funny and laugh.
  5. Yup, but were unable to do so when it counted most. not sure what your statement has to do with anything though. Not the same situation by any means. You said when you beat a team twice you are better, period, end of story. And you're not sure what that has to do with it? Sometimes I really think you don't believe 50% of the stuff you say. FWIW, I don't think NO was ever better than Tampa. I'm not sure how they lost to them at all.
  6. Tampa beat the Packers twice. 1st game was a total blow-out, 38-10. Packers lost. 2nd game was for a chance to go to the Super Bowl, the biggest game on the planet. Tampa had to go to Lambeau, weather, yada, yada, yada. Packers lost. Nothing you can say will convince me that Tampa is not a better team based on those two things alone. Packers played Tampa twice, and lost twice. Tampa is the better team. And both games were full anomalies. Rodgers, who has thrown less than a handful of pick sixes, threw 2 in one game. In the first game, the Packers thoroughly dominated the first quarter. In the second game, they won the 2nd half 16-10, with 7 of Tampa's points coming on an 8-yard drive. They scored 7 more on a Green Bay classic loft pass with 1 second left in the half. This is what the Packers do. This is the same team that picked off a QB in this game 5 times and lost. If you showed me Brady's line yesterday before the game, I'd guess the Packers won by 14. Tampa may very well win the Super Bowl, but they were not head and shoulders above the Packers. This team is just incapable of closing the deal. I give Tampa lots of credit because the stops are stops. They had to make em and they did and their speed and 2nd level is insane. But Tampa isn't some team that GB can't play with, like SF was last year. I'd like their chances to beat Tampa any given day. Last year, they couldn't have beat SF in 100 tries. And by the way, that Bucs team you quit watching but decided to watch again this season (lol) lost to New Orleans twice.
  7. Odds are they'd lose anyway. It's top 10, but more like 7 or 8 on that list.
  8. Both drives that ended in FGs deserve harsh criticism. Running down their throat and then just stop for no reason.
  9. Yeah. If the Packers had one shot to score to turn that game it would be one thing. They had three. They got a field goal. And that's only relevant because they are climbing out of an 18-point hole again. This one stings to me because I'm still not convinced Tampa is a better team. But it doesn't matter, they did what they had to do to win and GB didn't. Tampa deserves all the credit for those 3 stops. But that deficit was almost entirely ridiculous GB missteps.
  10. I honestly thought they should have just went onsides. That would at least have assured they still got the 2 minute warning and they still needed to stop them 3 and out regardless. They got a break on the kickoff. Dumb special teams play by Tampa. But still not as dumb as kicking the field goal there... Agreed with the onsides kick, that is what I expected, but then again, I expected them to go for it on 4th and goal rather than kicking the field goal. You could argue not onside kicking was also quite pointless. You needed a 3 and out regardless. Sure, you can maybe go down 8 again but either outcome requires going down the field with no timeouts and 90 seconds. I don't think they could have done that against that defense anyway, in either scenario. If all the Bucs had to do was keep the clamps on and play the sidelines for 90 seconds. In fact if the Bucs do start the drive at the 40, they likely play it more conservative and you're MORE likely to get the ball back. Packers blew a lot of chances, that's definitely the reality.
  11. The call just makes no sense. You need a stop and touchdown either way. It's only justification is if the FG pulled you within 3. The win probability was 10% if you go for it. It was 9% if you kick the FG. If you convert the FG the probability was 9%. If you convert the TD it was 24%. It likely jumps much higher if you also get the 2. It was inexplicable.
  12. They need a CB, so I am prepared for them to not do that. I know many will disagree, but CB2 is the biggest hole on this team. There is potential on the roster at other spots of weakness, the cupboard is bare at CB. I do not think the draft is the answer but the inflexibility elsewhere is a problem. They can let King go but it doesn't solve the problem if their answer is Chandon Sullivan.
  13. Centers come and go. Exaggerating a little but there are much harder positions to replace. If the Packers have done one thing really well, it's been knowing when to let linemen go. Same goes for Aaron Jones, I am not too busted up over losing a diminutive RB. Not to downplay the player he's been overall, but I wouldn't pay him if we had the money. He's been good at taking busted plays and turning them into gains, he was fun to watch but just not a position I'd invest in. He'll likely go to some team thinking he can cure their running game fade into nothingness over 1-2 seasons. The odds of the back-end of any Jones contract being good for the Packers are really slim. On the 49ers, what usually happens is that half of those players are never the same again and your window never really re-opens, and that division does them no favors. There will be other teams that challenge for sure, but who those teams are is really anyone's guess. Tampa will likely be a thorn for the Packers again. The Packers could be worse offensively and still be quite good. Until that defense is dependable it just doesn't matter. I'm in agreement with you though basically. Everything fell into their lap this year and they blew it, there's no other way to say it. This was as "easy" as it was going to get. My gut says the Rodgers-Packers 2nd title ship has sailed. If Pettine goes, it's another year of growing pains schematically too. I just don't have any faith in em at this point.
  14. That and the speed of the one they decided to call was absurd. It's a flag or it isn't. Don't look at Brady's facial expression and then decide throw it. That was a joke.
  15. I won't participate in these unless I know the cause/individual personally. It's been abused way too often.
  16. Same. Apparently he's now "lost the most championship games." I had these kinds of gymnastics stats that do nothing but cut a guy down. How many did Favre lose with the Packers? Two, because from 1998-2006 he couldn't get there, more than once directly because of his play. These legacy arguments place more success on guys that win two Super Bowls but go 6-10 seven times, as opposed to Rodgers who is literally always right there, but just cannot seem to get a break in the clinching game. Your "playoff record" essentially benefits from not making the playoffs at all. If you win two titles and end your postseason career something like 8-2, that's "better" than Rodgers going 11-9. It's dumb.
  17. When the Packers got the ball at 14-10, I made a post here that Rodgers had to be really careful and that 14-10 at half was fine. Boy did that go awry. I know there was a hold on that throw, but you can't start squeezing rocket balls in because you think there might be a flag, which I've seen people comment. They just could not turn the ball over there. Brady is just such an aware player. Even his picks weren't very consequential, and the play where he saw within half a second there was nothing there and chucked the ball at the ground to preserve a FG. Those kinds of meh decisions can make a huge difference.
  18. Yeah. Brady's last int was more of a heads up play on his part. That either ends the game right there or serves as a punt.
  19. I don't want Rodgers to leave. He's playing at a better clip now than he has his entire career, which is saying something. But if it happens, I agree that I'd like to see him go somewhere else and shine, because I really like the guy. I also want Jordan Love to succeed because it would be good for the team, and I'm a Packer fan first and foremost. I'm not going to get any sort of fulfillment out an "I told ya so" moment if Love isn't good. I would imagine most true Packer fans would agree. I'd want him to stay if I had one shred of faith in this team not tripping over itself in January but this is what we are. I think he's all but gone after 2021. I just get the sense through his cryptic words that he wants to complement a team with lots of pieces in place, like twilight Manning or Brady. I think he knows inside being Atlas for the practice squad heroes and the 17th ranked defense is never going to do it. Maybe they can deal for some first round picks and snag Love's backup 15 years early.
  20. Because for the 15th time, it has nothing to do with the assessment of Love being a stupid selection. Had they taken a WR, the odds of that player making a big difference this season are slim. As I already said, most 1st round picks don't move the needle in Year 1. They could possibly already have their slot WR, a 1st round talent with a year in their system going into 2021. Instead they are right where they were, I guess hoping MVS learns to catch this offseason and that one of their middling scrubs emerges as a viable option. Or a linebacker. Or someone who could have pushed King out of the starting lineup. Or any guy that absolutely sucked. Who knows. Point is that any of them presented a chance to improve the team for Rodgers and Jordan Love does not. Nothing says "We're knocking on the door, now let's beat it down," quite like drafting a backup for the MVP of the league who won't take a snap for 3 years if at all. And now I'll vent: I hope Rodgers does leave and win somewhere else, I really do. Gute can have fun with Jordan Love and show the world what a genius he is.
  21. What?? Sorry, SECOND worst. He must have had a decent game in week 17, and my apologies to Elandon Roberts of the Dolphins for not giving him the honor of calling him the worst. His pass rush rating was slightly above average. Run defense and pass coverage were horrid. Really, really bad. I don't know anything about this guy, but I don't feel like any of this automatically makes him a worse pick than Jordan Love. I also doubt you'd be as critical had the Packers taken him and would instead be urging patience as he develops. A quick Googling shows that he really wasn't all that bad, just wildly inconsistent and there are a number of folks that think there's something there. But really, none of this had anything to do with the central thesis, which is that basically any pick other than QB, K and P would have told Rodgers we were trying to acquire an immediate impact player, and that drafting Rodgers during Favre's career isn't a parallel for several reasons I already stated.
  22. I couldn't care less about Brady losing. It's not any kind of rah rah thing for me. May as well play 20 Super Bowls and play until 67 at this point. There's nothing he could do at this point to tarnish what he's already done.
  23. I'm sorry, but that call to end the half was monumental in the game, and it is an extremely huge reason they lost. They could have come out of the break and gotten a lead on one possession. Not only were they down 2 scores, but it was a massive punch to the gut. It wasn't "one bad play." It was a catastrophe and the exact moment I said "Yeah ok, we're not winning this game." They did come back but it doesn't make the play less significant. Yesterday was just another in a way too long line of comical Packers choke jobs. I know it's a fresh disappointment but I'm not sure I want to even watch this team anymore. This crap is so unbelievably predictable with them it's become astounding.
  24. I blame Bostick, because his assignment was to block and that ball was floating right into Jordy Nelson's arms, but at this point it's clear we would have found some other way to lose the game, so, meh.
  25. King was never good and was a disappointment his whole time here. I'm surprised he's 25 because it feels like I've been watching him stink for 8 years. Fans are sometimes reluctant to admit that random players aren't any good and he was the latest example. He's bad.
