  1. I was watching Baseball Tonight and just when they're about to do the webgems (what I've been waiting for) they decide to go "live" to show Rivera's 600th career save instead. Not happy about that.
  2. It doesn't have to last. They're only a half game back from us. AZ has a pretty easy schedule. They're getting the 2 seed. I'm still not going to be overly concerned in a 5 game series if one game is in AZ instead of Mil.Unless St. Louis overtakes Atlanta, we'd play the Phillies if Arizona gets #2. Division rivals can't play each other in the first round.
  3. So the media loved him all season, and now after that one small incident they've all turned on him again.
  4. Taylor Grenn is 4-4 pinch hitting. Move over Kotsay
  5. Count me on the ball in glove side, but that logo aside, I think we can all agree that this one sucked http://onmilwaukee.com/images/articles/static/brewers_94_99.gif
  6. 283 No-No's in MLB history. Looks like George was the 293rd Cycle. So, it's pretty darn close to 1:1. It may be close to 1:1 looking at the totals, but there are only 2 starting pitchers per game compared to 18 hitters.
  7. If he was running harder to first that wouldn't have been an issue
  8. You should have no problem selling them. Attendance for the 2008 playoffs was 43,992 and 43,934. According to the official website, capacity is 41,900. So that means that over 2,000 standing room only tickets were sold. An actually seat should be easy to sell.
  9. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who's had a hand in this deal. I went to one of the Dodgers games with some friends and they only wanted to spend around $20. This allowed us to get good field level seats instead of terrace. Definitely made the game more enjoyable. I hope it's back for next season. Thanks again.
  10. It depends on how much of a price difference we're talking. For less than a 5% difference I bet it happens all the time. But if we're talking $100 million vs $120 million it doesn't count for much.
  11. Franchises like the Cubs justify spending more for a guy than they know he's going to be worth over the course of a contract by using a "win now" mentality. Even with Fielder, I don't think the Brewers are necessarily a playoff team in 2012, everything else equal. Fielder is an elite hitter but he can be replaced with 2 or 3 above average players for less money overall, IMO. That's the luxury of having a couple of bad players in certain roles. As for being able to trade him in 5 years, I think that is far from a certainty. I hope that is not a hard scenario for people to envision. What? You don't think that the same team that is currently leading the division by 10 games would make the playoffs next year?
  12. We've gotten to the 7th inning with only one run given up on a day we started Marco Estrada. You have to be happy about that.
  13. Alright, so clearly it worked out there, but why not walk Pujols in that situation?
  14. I thought the same thing when he got the hit, but it'll be tough for that to make it since it's a Monday and they'll have 3 days worth of news to choose from.
  15. Craig Counsell was featured on the Colbert Report tonight for his hitless streak. A clip should be up on the website by tomorrow.
  16. I always like this one. If you are talking about this specific situation then maybe this one. I was hoping to find something a little broader about the Cardinals being the classy police.
  17. I need to explain what's wrong with La Russa/St. Louis to a bunch of non-Brewer, non-Cardinals fans. Is there an article or post that sums up the whole situation somewhere on here?
  18. That's cool they got a "Jerry" chant going, but if you're going to do it, you have to do it Jerry Springer style.
  19. You mean the same fans who jump on Ryan Braun for watching his HRs, but have no problem with Pujols watching his for twice as long? I think they'll find a way.
  20. If only Prince was an inch taller. Thank god he didn't tumble over the fence though. And there ya go Frankie.
  21. Mid-game trade for Barmes, stays on the field for the next half inning.
  22. Infield hit for Casey McGehee? What the what
