  1. I just threw up in my mouth a little. Teams no longer pitch around our 8th hitter with the pitcher due up. That's bad.
  2. Brewer base runners will have to keep moving themselves over like Hart is doing unless the hitters can start advancing them.
  3. Time to start playing like an ace if you want ace money, Ben.
  4. I don't think they should give up on Weeks, unless a nice trade presents itself that will help the Crew. I do think that Weeks needs to start showing immediate improvement throughout in order to justify his job as a starter. As many have stated, the Brewers are no longer in a position to let their young players work their issues out on the field. It's time to produce, and the players that do so should get the most playing time. I hope Rickie can have a nice hot streak that continues through October. But, until that happens, Durham and Counsell should see some more playing time.
  5. Hey, not bad. I wonder if Yost is scared of Kendall. He does look kind of mean.
  6. Here's to Ben breaking out of this funk and going 7+ innings with a win. And here's to hoping Yost has Kapler in center, Durham at second, Counsell at short, Branyan at third and Rivera at catcher today. Too much to wish for?
  7. Pulled the string on that one. One more time Torres.
  8. Good move Ned. Two hard hit balls and go to the closer. Could be a Jeff Suppan type inning if he gets left in.
  9. Counsell at second instead of Rickie late in the game. Ned is learning.
  10. Wow, how many other Brewer pitchers would have just given in that last at bat and either walked him or thrown up a bp fastball? 12 pitch at bat and CC prevails -- nice!
  11. I guess you're right. Can't blame a man for being born. He was doomed from the womb.
  12. He forgot how many outs there were and almost got doubled up. Just Rickie being Rickie.
  13. Ok, now he does it with men on base like I asked. How about doing it with your eyes closed next time Prince!
  14. With a man in scoring position when the game is not out of hand. Nice job.
  15. Thank you Prince! Now, can we try and do that with men on base?
  16. Braun showed no hustle at all running to first on that last out. Granted it would have been an out 99% of the time if he ran hard to make it close, but why not? I can't remember seeing Braun so lackadaisical in his running.
  17. He just hung a curve to Weeks and he popped it up foul. Sheesh!
  18. This is not a sarcastic post. I bet if Weeks tried to bunt for a base hit, like Blanco just did with no runners on and the defense back, his average would get no worse, and likely improve if he did it all the time.
  19. Man this Morton guy is one hell of a pitcher. His ERA and record must be like.......oh, that bad huh. I'm sure he dominates at AAA, though! There's a feather in our cap!
  20. My point in posting this was to try and establish a record for Yost in pressure situations. Games on ESPN, TBS and Fox are an interesting study as they are seen across the country and put the team under a spotlight. I'm sure players and managers will all say that they don't pay attention to those things, but we are all human and they must have some knowledge (especially Yost) of who's broadcasting the games. It's a small sample size, but interesting nonetheless.
  21. Durham certainly does not have near the range or arm strength that Weeks has on defense. What he does have is better hands and he tends to "turn outs into outs." The Brewers need that defensive consistency as well as Durham's ability to hit for average and get on base. Weeks will make the spectacular play from time to time and his bat will show flashes of brilliance, but too many strike outs, pop flys and errors in between hurts the Crew. I say platoon Weeks and Durham until Weeks can show that he will consistently get on base and "turn outs into outs" on defense.
