  1. It's nice that the Brewers are allowing the Pirates to get some much needed bp in the 9th.
  2. I think you're being way too generous with a 5.75 ERA. With most pitchers, I would agree as they may regress as time goes on, but it would be in smaller increments. With Suppan, his regression seems to be getting exponentially worse by the season. Watching him this year, I have no confidence that his ERA would be any less than 7.00 if he pitched all year. That's not just my disdain for Suppan coloring my view of his outlook. I see nothing in his pitching that could sustain an ERA less than that. His velocity, movement and control are all falling off a cliff, and this team's hopes of getting to the playoffs are following Suppan's skills with every start he makes.
  3. I would second the art museum suggestion. If you don't buy a ticket, at least stop by and take in the beautiful architecture. I think they open and close the "wings" at noon. I would also suggest taking a stroll along the Riverwalk. Head from your hotel west to the river and take the Riverwalk south to the 3rd Ward area. The 3rd Ward is the old warehouse district with great 18th and early 19th century buildings recently redone into condos, shops and restaurants. Milwaukee is a hidden gem and it's hard to go wrong with any of the suggestions so far. I hope you have a great time and please let us know your honest opinion of the trip when you get back. Enjoy!
  4. Great play by Gomez to save a run. Davis is doing a great impression this year of Looper circa 2009.
  5. Thank God that was not hit to Hart. If the Brewers never played the Cubs again I would be a happy man.
  6. I am hoping against hope that Macha keeps CV in for the 9th. I don't think good things are in store for Hoffman at Wrigley today.
  7. If Suppan allows any runs this inning, I will find out where Macha lives, go to his home, and drop kick his dog. There is no excuse to not pinch hit for Suppan when Parra, Narveson and CV are in the pen.
  8. That's great Doug, but I'm not so sure that Suppan allows the Brewers to pitch deeper into games. I think what Doug meant is he needs CV to pitch deep into games since we'll need him early and often with all the crap that Suppan and Davis will throw out there. This is total bs. I said this in a post before the season started. Keeping Suppan on the 25 man roster not only weakens the starting rotation, but the bullpen as well. Example A is linked above. So what should we all do tomorrow to take our minds off the Brewers being swept in embarrassing fashion by the Scrubs?
  9. "Hart, the left fielder" Just go away ESPN. At least pretend like we exist! How about a Fielder walk off.
  10. If Joe Morgan and Glenn Beck made a baby, all logic would cease to exist and our heads would blow up.
  11. Great avatar Diskono. Soup and Spaz Hands all wrapped up into one team killing monster. Hide your children everyone! As for Zaun, he looks like crap at, and behind the plate so far. Very un-Dude.
  12. What are they doing? I can't see on my pip view. GO BREWERS!
  13. For those with DirecTV, channel 720 has a sports mix with the Rockies broadcast as one of the games. You can scroll over and get sound while watching the game, but it's a small picture in picture screen due to the other games being shown. Not sure why you can watch it here, but it's blacked out when you switch to the actual channel.
  14. I'm looking forward to watching the improved defense and speed of this team (especially the speed). I think there will be a noticeable improvement in both. I'm also looking forward to seeing some league average offense out of the catching position. I think Kottaras has a chance to surprise a lot of people with his bat. Lastly, I'm looking for a continued increase in Brewer fan attendance at Miller Park and Wrigley for Cubs series's.
  15. I love it when a plan comes together. Great news.
  16. http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=21738?page=10 It's also being discussed here.
  17. TH's blog had been updated, and after talking with Macha, the DL is a possibility as his neck's been bothering him. It sound minor, but maybe they can come to a gentelmen's agreement to put Suppan on the DL to start the season and get treatment for his "injury." When ready, he could come back and replace an injured or struggling pitcher. This would be the perfect situation as Suppan would still add depth to the starting pitching while not hurting the current rotation and bullpen set ups. Edit: I see battlekow beat me to it. Damn my slow typing!
  18. http://www.midwestgamingclassic.com/ Has anyone ever been to this? It looks like it could be fun with all the home systems they have there to play.
  19. If Suppan is the 5th starter, I'd advise you to sell your tickets and lock yourself in a dark room with no tv for that day. Trust me, it will be better than watching the inevitable in front of thousands of Cubs fans.
  20. I don't think you can justify keeping him in the bullpen either, even if it is just mop up duty. Villy deserves the last bullpen spot, not Suppan. I hope today allows the Brewers to see that they have no other option but to cut him. Who knows, maybe he would accept an assignment at AAA since I doubt anyone would try and pick him up.
  21. I'd say bye bye Jim and hello Fred if I'm the Brewers. I would imagine there would be some competition with other teams to sign him as he would be a valuable back up. Why are the Giants releasing him? Has he had injury issues?
