  1. I don't mind Yuni. It's McGehee that gets all of my hate. What in the hell happened to that guy??
  2. A little late post here, but Hart's leadoff AB was a flat out disgrace. Way to come out and set the tone.
  3. Great thread, Bombers. I am with you, I am all in. I can't put my finger on it, but I believe they make the playoffs. I live in PA, and can't (read: don't) want to think about all the money I've spent over the years on the MLB package to follow the Brewers, but I feel a real sense of optimism with this group that I haven't in awhile.
  4. I am fine with the deals the Brewers made. As pointed out, they've made a ton in the past 8 months. The Greinke and Marcum deals were huge. I think the JHJ deal was bigger than people realize. An understated move to add versatility and depth. Weeks will be back before we know it. That said, of all the players that moved on deadline day, who exactly should DM have made a play for? Ed Wade made is abundantly clear he had no interest in dealing with the Brewers, so any player off the 'Stros roster is moot. Furcal? I just don't get the love there. Someone on here posted Jose Reyes in this thread. Are you f***** serious??? The Mets made it clear weeks ago they weren't trading Reyes. Just wasn't happening, and that's the fantasy talk that makes me nuts this time of year. The only player I guess I would have liked to see added would've been a Jeff Keppinger type. He is extremely versatile defensively and gives excellent at bats. But, again, a Wade deal. It's funny, I've seen the Phils mentioned in this thread, and the irony is all I hear from Phils fans is how much they hate their team. Their pitching obviously dominates, but they are so streaky at the plate, and you are looking at a team that is extremely beatable in a short series if their pitching stumbles even a little bit.
  5. Agree with BrewerTerp...Rockies fleeced the Indians and it's not even close. Buyer beware with Jimenez, and quite frankly I am surprised anyone would touch him. (there is a reason the Rockies wanted to deal him)
  6. Ed Wade made an ok deal for Pence, but not 'great' by any means. Singleton has serious potential but was blocked at 1b, Cosart (24 years old) has major maturity issues and even Phils fans will tell you is overrated, and not sure who the PTBNL will be. The Phils tried Singleton in the OF where he failed, so he was a goner. The thing I don't get is that with Pence still under contract past this season why Wade didn't ask for someone closer to MLB ready? Seems strange. It also seems strange he included cash to the Phils to keep them under the luxury tax AND he makes so many deals with the Phils. Personally, I think Pence is overrated. People make it seem like he was the only good player on that team for years, and that's simply not the reality. Lastly, why is Wade taking a hardline stance on Barmes?
  7. This is a great deal on multiple levels for the Brewers. It's an understated deal that gives the team versatility and depth. Big fan.
  8. @Aytumious...great answer. Pretty informative. :facepalm. Your answer is pretty short sighted, but that is par for the course with fans who want to make knee jerk deals or cut their wrists. Sure McGehee sucks, and I pretty much hate him, but to give up ANYTHING for Betemit is foolish. Just bring up Green. Hell, move Gamel back there. To give up any asset whatsoever for Wilson Betemit, even you sitting on your recliner eating potato chips, is dumb. You making any fantasy or APBA trades today? High five, friend!
  9. LOL I know what you mean. The few times I get post game Brewers live on MLB Extra Innings (I live in PA), it has been a little less than informative.
  10. What is the fascination with Betemit? I ask genuinely. Marginally better - offensively and defensively - than McGehee and some of you are willing to give up assets for him? And please, spare me the sabremetrics. Betemit is a lateral, and unnecessary move, for this club. I'm convinced that there is a portion of fans that don't watch baseball at all. They get a hold of the name du jour and base an opinion off what their fantasy team's stats tell them or the most recent trade they pulled off on XBox. They want to make trades for the sake of making trades.
  11. I had the COL feed, and they said Marcum was fine, that he had a strained neck. And that info they got that directly from the Brewers. Strange that the FSN broadcast wouldn't have that info.
  12. Good post Patrick. I still love what Attanasio has done and I love his genuine fervor for the Brewers. A new era of hope. Bud Selig was once championed, yes, but what did Wendy Selgi Preib ever do with the club? I am honestly asking because I have no idea.
