  1. Well I went ahead and started dissecting the base. The base is hollow and the talking apparatus sits nicely inside. I had to take apart the bottom to get to it. So I got the apparatus out and put in new batteries and sure enough it worked! But it kept playing...over and over...until I took apart the apparatus and played with the wires. I found a loose one that when held tight only allowed Ueckers call to play one. It eventually broke off, but I can solder it back easily once I get a solder gun. I am thinking that this might be the problem with those that didn't work. The "cheap" wiring might have caused a bunch of them to play over and over again while in shipment, thus draining the batteries. Once I get it all finished I will post pictures. I am debating how to put the base back together; I can put it together like it was or try to make it accessible in case the batteries die again in the future.
  2. Hey guys! I recently picked up one of the limited edition Talking Ryan Braun bobbles from last year...the one with Ueckers call. This one is broken, and from what I understand a lot of them are. When these first came out there was talk about how to fix them, and I remember saying that if I ever got one for cheap I'd try to fix it and post details so anyone who was interested could fix theirs. Although I didn't get this one for cheap, I am still pondering whether or not I can or even should fix it. So I have two questions... 1) If I fix it and can get Ueckers call to work again, is the bobblehead of any value? (i.e. is it worth more broken or fixed knowing that the base has been modified?) 2) If I can fix it, does anyone have interest in knowing how so they can possibly fix theirs, or am I just doing this for my own edification?
  3. You're welcome. The stitch 'n' pitch will come down in price. And yes, I agree the Cooper is too much. Of all the powder blues he has always been the cheapest!
  4. Not sure if you can get a deal on these, but there is someone on Craigslist that has three of the bobbles you're looking for. The Weeks Huntsville is priced well...not sure about the other two. http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/clt/1905623992.html Bernie Brewer Stitch n' Pitch (with box): $60 Rickie Weeks Huntsville (with box) $20 Cecil Cooper 2004 Powder Blue (not pictured, with box) $35
  5. I didn't win it, but it sure sold for cheap! $56 total with shipping...less than $3 per bobble!
  6. Looks like you rethought your max bid a few times there! Congrats! The same seller sold a Prince Fielder High School bobble for just under $20 shipped, which is the lowest I've seen in a while.
  7. As far as the Mr. 3000 bobble, I had a guy in Michigan who was suppose to pick one up at an antique store for me about a month ago. I was watching a particular bobble he had and asked if he had any more Brewers related bobbles. He told me no but that he saw a Mr. 3000 and would go get a price for me if I wanted. I said sure and he got back to me about a week later and told me they had it for $8. I asked him what a fair price would be to get it to me and he told me $18. I told him I was interested at that price, but that's the last I heard from him. He probably got wind of the one on eBay, which ended shortly after the final email exchange. I'm waiting to see if he lists it on eBay...
  8. Maybe you were more nervous because the Miller Park crowd is a bit more judgmental since they aren't as drunk as Gillespie...
  9. I went to purchase the new Fielder bobble from this year (it looks like the old Knuckleheads...I believe the boxes say "Sports Bobble") and apparently they're sold out. If anyone has one for sale or knows another place I can pick it up let me know. Thanks!
  10. Yeah I was really hoping he'd make it until I realized I was in section 206 not 207. At least his toss had some effort...can't say the same for the second guy!
  11. I'm glad I didn't bid on any of his stuff. Too fishy, plus prices WAY overinflated. For example...why would someone bid $166 on a High Life bobble when one is listed right now on eBay with a buy-it-now of $70? I wouldn't be surprised if he offers second chance offers to the second highest bidders in the auctions...or the REAL bidders. This way he gets top dollar for everything listed. If anyone on here gets a second chance offer on something they lost out on I'd be interested to know. I'd also suggest not accepting the offer!
  12. Yeah I can't believe some of the prices he is getting. It is funny to see extras I sold him just weeks ago find their way to eBay now. I asked if he was getting out of the hobby, but he told me he has doubles of everything he is selling. Who knows...?
  13. I'll trade the upcoming Italian for the Yount!
  14. And he has another lot listed that ends in 6 days. Must have gotten a case of these somehow. Who knows how these guys get these. I know the guy with the Brauns works as a longshoreman out in Cali, where all the bobbles for SGAs are routed through from wherever they're made overseas --- coincidence?
  15. I love the jersey numbers as a personal touch to the Fielder and Braun photos!
  16. I am looking to purchase or trade...and I have some pretty rare ones! Let me know!
  17. I can trade for last years Suppan since I have extras. I think I also have an extra Melvin if interested. Thanks!
  18. I have a bunch of collectibles I am selling for another collector. Included are a few Bucks, Brewers, and Packers items. I will supply pictures to those interested. All items will be best offer otherwise I might have to put it on eBay for the collector since he needs the cash. Here is what I have so far... 20. I am looking to complete my collection of TEI bobbles. I am attaching what I have already, which doesn't include the gold base bobble from 2000. I know of two more including a newer version of Bernie and a pinstripe Milwaukee player. If anyone has any info on what others were made please let me know. Also, if anyone has any for sale let me know, including the ones I already have since I may want to replace a couple with nicer versions. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/8c716a4e1542e762c32881a4b8363f6f80ea6a39.jpg
  21. How do you know what they are putting up to auction before they actually list?
  22. I've got the following Bucks...most with boxes and some without. Sidney Moncrief is gone, though. They are packed away right now, and I am most likely looking to sell the whole lot and not piece them out. I also have two Bangos from 2003 (standing with ball) and 2004 (action pose...like he's going to dunk) included in the lot. http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/87b369b542c4106a403ded446411c53406328552.jpg
  23. As far as the media packaged bobbleheads here is what I know... There was at least one sausage (I believe the Polish) that was wrapped in a large Klement's themed hot-dog wrapper (like what they look like at the vending stations at Miller Park.) There was a special "Sunglasses at Night" Corey Hart bobble that was also given out to "big wigs" that contained the Hart bobble along with a red pair of sunglasses. If you don't get it then you obviously don't know your 80's hits! You can see both of these in the picture next to the Attanasio. I believe the sausage is within the bubble wrap next to Attanasio and the Hart (there are two) are just to the left of these...the box has Hart wearing sunglasses on it. I don't know anything about the "special" Barrelman bobble that he claims. I have never seen it and in his pics there is just a picture of a boxless Barrelman. Who knows!
  24. I have been looking for this bobblehead for awhile now and nothing is turning up. Does anyone have an extra to sell or trade? I have a few extra bobbles I can trade. Let me know. Thanks!
