  1. The Wild Cow is a vegetarian restaurant here with a sandwich named after Prince Fielder. In an effort to persuade Prince to make a trip to Nashville and try the sandwich that bears his name, they have decided to make a short video about the day after game 6 (otherwise known as the Marcum game). I star in the video as a hungover, dejected Brewers fan that is really hungry and discovers the sandwich. We have finished the first day of shooting and are expected to have one more day of shooting. The video should be done in about a week and I will post it here when we get everything wrapped.
  2. Would anyone be interested in having a separate In Game just for the MiLB games? Or would it just be easier to keep them with the MLB games. Not sure how often it would be frequented, but I just thought it would be cool to keep track of certain players down on the farm, for whatever reason that may be. It would also bring a little more traffic to this side of the site. Just an idea...

  5. @ JimH5- I totally understand your position. The Nashville Sounds season ticket holders are allowed one day of the season to come on the field and hit balls with some of the players and coaches. I think that I should clarify that when I was told that by the coach that will remain nameless, that I believe that it was meant to be tongue in cheek, and I guess that I didn't convey that as well as I should have in my initial post. Sorry for any misunderstandings on my part and I certainly didn't intend to throw Gamel or a coach under the bus, just passing along the joke I was told.
  6. I have one (maybe 2). I also have others, Prince Fielder, Braun, Brenden Katin, and more.
  7. I live in Nashville and have watched/ talked to Gamel (amongst many others). I have heard from the coaching staff that they feel he does not work as diligently on defense and baserunning as he does on offense. An unnamed coach went as far as to say he was partaking in "wacky weed" (lol), but somehow cleared all the testing. Personally, I think he is just a cool, laid back sort of guy that really enjoys hitting (he also is very accessible and signs a ton of autographs, etc). I don't feel he is the long term answer at first, but I really hope he proves me wrong because I have enjoyed watching his progression and this would be another great Brewers bat.
  8. I would like to see Katin too. When he connects, it's pretty much gone. Has a great outfield arm too. He would be an everyday player for a Pittsburgh or Washington.
  9. I agree 100%. Besides the fact that he has a great bat and clubhouse presence, having Braun and Fielder together gives the Brewers lineup a little mystique, similar to great combos for other teams: Manny and Big Papi, McGwire and Canseco, etc.. except without the steroids.
  10. I see Suppan in the 5th spot. I live in Nashville and go to a whole lot of Sounds games and I just can't see Narveson in the rotation. Maybe like a 7th inning relief guy. It was horrible when Soup came down here. Hard to watch. Especially since we saw probably the best game he threw in 09 in Atlanta like a week before.
  11. I'm sure everyone already knows this, but just in case, Jeffress has been sent down from AA Huntsville. The people at the gift shop said they were "Hopeful" that he comes back soon...
  12. Just got back from a Huntsville Stars roadtrip. We left Nashville about mid day Saturday and caught the game that night. It was rainy for that game and most of the weekend for that matter. The Stars had a come from behind victory that was pretty cool. The Sunday game was the complete opposite. Huntsville led the game untill the 8th when some relief pitcher (#23, don't know the name because they do not display on the scoreboard or announce) was throwing grapefruits and gave up a million runs. There was a highlight for me though when Nashville fan favorite Vinny Rottino stepped into the on deck circle. I told Vinny to hit one back to Nashville and he launched a massive solo shot to centerfield, the deepest part of Joe Davis stadium, which I believe is 425 feet. There really is no reason why he shouldn't be playing at least the AAA level. They also let you tailgate in Huntsville, and you can't in Nashville. Do any other posters on here make the trip down to Nashville or Huntsville? I did meet one of the Brewers batboys and some friends that made the trip from Milwaukee to Nashville recently. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
  13. Thanks for the pics haas, I didn't even know they had posted them. I'm going down Monday to pick up my season tickets.
  14. I went out to the bar the other night and had Rogue XS Imperial IPA, 9.5%abv and came in a ceramic bottle. It was really good, but I have had better. I tried the XS Imperial Stout recently too and it was really really good at about 11.5%. I then decided I would balance it with a Meantime London Porter. It was good, probably the best porter I have ever had. Then I had Dogfishhead Theobromas. Long story short, I drank these great beers too fast and got wasted. So I think I'm gonna stick to water for awhile.
  15. Friday the 13th on NES is SUPER hard. It was one of the games in the "Power Play" series. I have it on my Wii hack.
  16. I can already hear the boo birds down at Greer calling his name
  17. Alright, thanks for the info. I'm going down thursday to buy my ticket package. I can't wait!
  18. Direct Tv is the best service out there hands down. So you have to pay a little more, it's worth it. You just have to ask yourself this question: Do I want the best service (channel availabilty, picture clarity) available? Am I willing to pay for it, or will I miss that game I want to see? ALL games-Directv,yes Dish,no 100% HD games-Directv,yes Dish,no MLB Network-Directv,yes Dish,no Everybody wants to save money, but there are some things you have to pay for.
  19. Greer Stadium is a dump, but it kind of has a charm to it. It has this old toilet trough...the same trough I used when I started going to games when I was like 5 years old. I hope they fix the bathrooms. There are super old pictures of Magglio Ordonez, Aramis Ramirez, and Don Mattingly around the Concessions. I really hope we get a new stadium and that the Brewers will always be linked to Nashville. I would definetly buy season tickets. In case anyone was going to come down here to catch a game, Thursday, July 9th is Ryan Braun bobblehead night and the Sounds play Round Rock Express, an affiliate for Houston Astros.
  20. I think the camping out is literally one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Wow. That is dedication personified. I couldn't do it just because I live in Nashville, have a full time job, and would not be able to afford the trip+tickets+ time off from work+ gas there and back from Nashville. I have nothing but respect for those guys though and it looks like tons of fun. The cardboard shanty...pure genius. I didn't see any shots of guys grilling?
  21. I live in Nashville, TN and usually travel down to Atlanta for at least one series a year. Downtown is safe, but right outside of downtown you will find better rates on hotels. If you want to live it up gangsta style, Buckhead is where you want to stay, it's the wealthiest part of Atlanta. A buddy and I are going down for the June series too. It would be great to meet up with some of you guys for some beers or whatever during the weekend.
  22. I'm so glad I found the beer thread. I'm a new Brewers fan, and new to the site, but it has become indespensible to me now. Down here in Nashville, there are several brewerys, but only a couple brew pubs ( brew and sell on premises), and only one great bar. I LOVE BEER and plan on brewing my own some day, but for now, I'm content just to be an avid admirer. Theres a bar down here called The Flying Saucer( beerknurd.com ) that has a drinking club called the UFO. Once you have tried 200 different beers they give you 200$, a party, and they put your name and anything you want to say on a gold plate and put it on the wall, but you can only have three tallied in one day. They have an excellent selection and knowledgable bartenders. It's a great place to hang and drink before the Sounds game and the 10$ flat Bud Light prices if you guys ever come down here. They also show Predators games on the big screen. I'm at 130 something right now, so wish me luck. Heres what I have had lately, I try to buy American: Rogue XS Imperial Stout (Portland,OR bottle 11%abv,$30+)-This beer was worth every penny, notes of espresso, chocolate balanced by intense hop bitterness, I recommend halfing this one with a buddy. Rogue Double Dead Guy(Portland,OR bottle 9%abv,$12-15)-Exactly what you think it will be. Pack a lunch. Avery Maharaja IPA(draft, great IPA,notes of corriander balanced with the hops, not sure what the alcohol was, but it was in the 8-9% range) Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine (Chico, CA draft This beer looked and tasted great and is served in a red wine balloon. Dark amber red in color with a tall high alcohol head and superb lacing.) My birthday is on St. Patricks Day if anyone wants to come down and drink for free! I can't wait to hear of all the tastings you guy have!
  23. The Nintendo Wii might be the single greatest invention ever created. I love mine. Walmart should be the lowest prices on games and accesorys, but why buy games? I have every single NES, SNES, Gameboy, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, Saturn, Turbo Graffix 16 game loaded in a hack program thats stored on a 8GB SD card! So I literally have thousands of classic titles at my finger tips. I did buy David Ortiz Backyard Baseball 09 though. It's more of a kids oriented game, but it's lots of fun, and the Wii Sports game is fun too.
  24. Most ball players give 100% 100% of the time, and some ball players already have inflated egos. If you take that type of ball player and the WBC, representing ball players around the world, says "We think you are one of the very best from your country, we are inviting you to play in a tournament that is played for the pride of the country you represent, that will undisputedly decide that your country is the very best.", I think that guy is going to try and give 1000%. Pitchers are going to throw harder, Fielders are going to play harder, Everyone is going to play harder, and eventually, someone is gonna get hurt. I know it wasn't WBC, but remember what happened to Laporta?
