  1. Yes. Why is it so predictable?? I'd like to see our stats versus pitchers with ERAs north of five or six. But they'd be terrible.
  2. Woof. Definitely looked like a ball but I agree lucroys technique had something to do with that. Hopefully the baseball gods don't look to even up after that.
  3. So was Gomez suspended or is this the lower back tightness from last night? Was Braun being taken out last night just a precaution seeing as how he's back in?
  4. Just don't understand the complete ineptness against cardinals. I'll take the strikeout of Molina as a small victory tonight.
  5. The first time the thumb was mentioned in spring training WITHOUT a "everything is 100%, feels awesome" I was ticked off. How is it NOT better after five months off?? I knew it would become an issue and here we go. Massive fuel to the "he'll never be good again without steroids" camp too. ugh,.
  6. I've been thinking of some of the massive contracts of the past 5 years or so and am surprised at how many seem to have worked out despite general fan and Brewer fan predictions that they would be big mistakes. I'm thinking of a few like: CC Sabathia. 4 years in? Still earning his contract. Zito: Had a bump in the road but pretty much earning his monster contract Matt Holliday: thought for sure the Cards would regret that and he is still dangerous. There were others I thought of for rival teams that I hoped and prayed the player would burn out and they didn't but I can't think of them now. Any contributions? Ones that were a mistake are hard for me to think of. Only one I can think of is Soriano.
  7. If Braun is claiming that dude provided "consultation" that at least one of the parties believed to be worth $20-$30K, wouldn't there at least be some paperwork to prove it? And if it is NOT the truth, no one would be this stupid to use this excuse. I mean, it would take one denial from this guy or one other scrap of evidence. Either Braun's team is telling the truth or they must be pretty confident in this lie.
  8. i didn't think it was all that bad. but i know richard justice was a regular on FireJoeMorgan.com and it made me miss that site. It was brilliant.
  9. didn't think of that. interestingthought.
  10. I was just thinking this same thing. Time to make hay.
  11. pebadger or xisxisxis, if you have time, any thoughts on the assertions in this article: http://healthland.time.com/2012/02/24/ryan-braun-why-he-didnt-fight-the-drug-test-itself/#ixzz1ne6QFMNy thanks for any insights.
  12. yeah a chicago friend is taunting me using everything they are saying like it is the word of god. want them dead.
  13. i hate that this happened. the fact that it may take heavily scientific explanations just means that idiots will always point to it. sucks.
  14. I REALLY hope Braun addressed this satisfactorily. He CANNOT simply say "The process worked, I won't address this further, looking forward to a new season." I'm encouraged by Aaron Rodgers tweet that "everyone talking about technicalities get ready to eat crow". We need some scientific people, independent perhaps, to maybe address what would happen if a sample sat around for 2 days. Ugh, don't have a good feeling right now. Happy he won appeal but want it to be for a good reason.
  15. coooool
  16. ABSOLUTELY. haven't seen the timing of this mentioned much. seeing as how we are almost in february, the timing is [expletive deleted]. they couldn't wait a week or two? talk about effecting performance. jeez. I brought this up as a very probable reason for Braun's struggles in the St. Louis series. He started hot but was lost by the end. His head looked elsewhere and this would explain. Now it could be that he was devastated he got caught or it could be he was worried because he knew he was innocent but was smart enough to know how hard the test is to beat. I am not blaming MLB for telling him or anything like that just saying it stinks It's tough to monitor all 57 pages of this thread http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/wink.gif

  18. They're not validating the suspension they're just suggesting the most likely outcome. I would say that sentence is more accurate then saying the 50 game sentence is likely to be over-turned. I think what MoreTrife is trying to say is why put any opinion about the outcome in there at all? Putting that sentence in there makes it sound like they have some sort of inside information about the situation, but they are not going to explain any further. Exactly
