Yeah I've been telling people I think the Brewers are going to be sneaky good. Just go around the horn and there isn't an expected black hole or negative contributer anywhere. Maybe some unknowns. 1B - Thames is probably biggest question mark but between him and Aguilar could be solid. I expect .500, which I guess isn't standard definition of optimism but with this team and what's expected it is.
I see a lot of talk of promise and hope with Broxton. Anyone worried about the fractured wrist? isn't that a pretty difficult injury to come back from hitting wise? Didn't Weeks fracture his wrist sliding into a base and didn't it affect his hitting? And Victor Roache as well? I want to be hopeful as well just not sure how to think abouthim coming back from that wrist.
Okay I think I figured it out. We picked up an asset for free, weighed whether we wanted to keep the asset, then decided we wanted to use the roster spot elsewhere so put feelers out to see if anyone else wanted asset. Then we got $$ for asset.
This is way over my head...I'm sorry. Can someone explain what happened? We selected a player for the Cubs basically? And they said we'll give you cash for the favor?
I feel like the brewers have some intriguing pieces moving forward. Villar is only 25 and hitting with a little pop over almost an entire year now. Perez is appearing to be a good super utility. And broxton seems to be a very good CFer who may turn into an average hitter. I think things will start to take shape end of next year.
It's too bad we have these affiliates that present such hurdles for our prospects. Brevard for hitters and Colorado Springs for pitchers. It'd be nice to have some neutral places.
Why was Wily pulled after just three innings and 60 pitches, and scoreless 2nd & 3rd innings? My guess was they are baby-stepping him. Get him out after positives and keep his confidence up.
