  1. I've liked villar but boy between the botched double plays and caught stealings... Seemed like that may have been called for though because scooter really swung on a crap pitch.
  2. Yes! Because it was during the 05' season when Braun was in town after signing his contract. I know it was around this board. That is where I first seen it. I used to have it saved but can't find it anywhere. https://web.archive.org/web/20050628012311/http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brew/jun05/336680.asp I wish I could be more help. The picture is mentioned in that article. UGH. Such hope in this quote "During the pre-game workout, Braun spent time and posed for a photo with J.J. Hardy (22 years old), Rickie Weeks (22) and Prince Fielder (21) - the players he is expected to join in the Brewers' "infield of the future." " Wish we could've done more with them.
  3. Slowly going from "a lot of reasons to watch" to "not many reason to watch". Offense starting to disappear and pitching has been atrocious.
  4. 2022? That's almost two developmental cycles built in. All those guys you listed in the rotation will be hitting 30! At the tail end of prime pitching years a bit. Our current cycle will either be a few years into success or we'll be on second rebuild by then. I think 2018 will be first year of actual competitiveness.
  5. Fixed that for you. Hope I'm wrong. Ha! Sounds about right.
  6. Not seeing many bright spots early on this milb season. Phillips, arcia and Reed I guess but would like to see more.
  7. Oblique are such mysterious injuries. Never know how long they'll take to heal and I have no idea why.
  8. I usually feel good when Santana is up. Good approach. Hopefully he'll be a nice pickup.
  9. It's been so long since I've had low expectations for the brewers it's actually kind of refreshing. And now that they're (so far) exceeding them is quite nice.
  10. It'll be interesting what will happen if Arcia is mashing in AAA. With Villar really producing for now and another very capable SS in Rivera, the infield will suddenly be very crowded.
  11. I'd be even more optimistic if Will Smith and Corey knebel hadn't gotten injured. Will Smith is a few months right? What about knebel? Replace freeman and someone else with those two and the bullpen is a definite strength.
  12. Same here. Hope the pleasant surprise play continues. Not expecting anything crazy but the patience and solid play is nice to see.
  13. "If he throws a fastball right on the black, a changeup on the black, and then a back-door curveball on the black, good for him. I’ll probably take all three and strike out looking. But pitchers don’t do that consistently. They make mistakes." Eh, top of the rotation guys across baseball can. It'll be interesting to see how it goes for him.
  14. Enjoyed reading that immensely. Hope for the future. I think 2017 will be fun. Making waves, prospects getting called up. Kinda similar to the weeks, Hart, Hardy, fielder core from 04 or whenever it was.
  15. Yeah. Glad they are in Appleton. I'm planning on making it up for a few games.
  16. With those fairly good numbers, why didn't he make the A's MLB roster?
