  1. DM's needs to address: 1) A lhp who consistently gets out lefties 2) A ss with a good glove and at least a pulse at the plate 3) A good bench bat to replace Counsell (Wilson can more than fill Craig's shoes to play the utility IF role). Make it happen Doug. You didn't go "All In" with Marcum and Greinke to not improve the team now did you?
  2. It sounds like they're afraid to use him because if he doesn't respond well by Thursday, they could put him on DL retroactive to last Sunday and he'd only have to sit out 7 more days.
  3. I know Chapman has a tendency to be wild sometimes, but man is his stuff flat out nasty. 100+ with a hard breaking 92 mph slider
  4. Wolf ends up going 7 with only 2 earned runs. Excellent effort by him today working around 12 base runners. We haven't scored a lot for him this year...time to get him some runs!
  5. If we don't start putting up some zeros, we have little chance of winning today. I know that's obvious, but I felt it was worth saying for some reason.
  6. There was no prayer for a DP as soon as that ball was hit. Why Rickie refuses to eat a throw sometimes is so frustrating!
  7. It was for replacing Chipper Jones. He got in because he got the 2nd most votes. He might even end up starting. Polanco isn't going to play either. NL 3B, yuck.Yeah, with Wright, Zimmerman, Freese and Panda being hurt most of season, Ramirez getting older and McGehee not playing well this year, the options in the NL are pretty limited
  8. Can't get Bruce out by pitching... get him out on the bases instead!
  9. Nice to see Gomez make his playing time pay off. I think he can be an effective part of this team in a platoon / late inning defensive or pinch running role
  10. Just look at the difference in the depth of our lineup vs theirs. I don't think Willis looks all that good and yet we only have 4 maybe 5 guys who can make that even matter
  11. If we are patient, we will score lots of runs today. His stuff is pedestrian at best and as long as we swing at strikes, I like our chances.
  12. I just got done watching the Women's WC game (not even really a big soccer fan) and I have come to the conclusion that officials in every sport are just plain terrible. Maybe it truly is because we have access to so much more technology than we used to, but it's absolutely brutal in every sport.
  13. And now a no call on a swing, that turns into at least one run. Argh
  14. Brutal turn of events in the last 30 minutes or so. We fail to capitalize on a golden chance to win in the 9th and then proceed to let them blow it wide open with terrible defense and the Cardinals complete a big comeback from 6-3 down in the 8th.
  15. Doug Melvin, please tell me you're watching this game and realize how obvious your moves are at the All-Star Break?!
  16. We can get to Cordero again, but it's the bottom of the order...ugh
  17. I hate Jay Bruce so darn much. Like I said earlier, when we keep him in the yard it's a victory.
  18. Other than Morgan's ab, they were all good there. Hart and Kotsay both hit the ball hard
  19. Just now you realized he was useless? First in the top of the inning he boots a routine ball then lays down an easily played bunt and "runs" like a slug. Trash player. Oh no, I've always known. I was just reiterating. It's so frustrating that we have to run him out there every day.
  20. Yuni is so useless. How do you bunt into a DP there, really?
