Ya thats where I am at, every 5 days for the top 3. I don't see why you would want to give all your 5 starters around 32 starts each. 1-3 should get more. 5 days is beyond enough rest. IMO there is absolutely no reason a pitcher needs an extra days rest in April.

So what is everyone's opinion on having your starting pitchers sticking to an every 5th day schedule vs an every 5th game schedule? I would think you would try to keep your #1-3 guys in the rotation to an every 5th day schedule as much as possible. The 4th and 5th guys might lose some starts / get skipped but in my opnion, oh well. I don't think having Yo go every 6th day is the best decision to have this team make the post-season. IMO, he should have pitched on Friday as he last pitched on Sunday April 17th. But no, they lined him up for Saturday and that was rained out. So now it's been a week between starts. I always hear pitchers are a breed of routine and consitency, so why throw your best pitchers off their normal schedule? I guess I just don't get it, Yo and Marcum should be pitching every 5th day. And when Greinke gets back him too.

The only thing I could see Kottaras netting is a career minor leaguer (similar to Luis Cruz) ... probably someone in their late 20's who hasn't made it past AAA. Which knowing how recently decimated our SS position is with all the injuries, it could be a real possibility Kottaras is the one traded.

I 100% agree. Escobar didn't do well last year. He batted .235 with a .288 OBP. Pretty much what we will probably get with Yuni this year. Esco had 20 errors and .964 fielding % where Betancourt had 18 errors and .974 %. So we are on par to have exactly more of the same as last year. However, in the process we picked up Greinke!! I am for putting this debate to rest. Some wanted him gone the day we aquired him and others say lets what to June and see if we need to make a move by the deadline. I sit on the latter.

I know it was only Wolfe's 2nd start but when Greinke returns who do you pull from the rotation? Wolfe has looked awful this year. If Estrada pitches well over the next few weeks, will they pull Wolfe out?

Two items to comment on: Toronto: I go to Toronto every year in May for work and have gone to a game for 3 straight years. The stadium sucks. It is located in an area where you don't tailgate, good bars are a pretty good hike, fans don't seem "into" it. (Could just be a factor of a bad team) The only coolness factor to it is it is attached to the hotel, so kind of neat if you get a field facing room. But that is a 1 time, well did that thing. (And to be honest gets pretty boring watching a game from your hotel room. But since I was there for a week I got to watch live baseball almost every night from my room without buying a ticket.) Every game I have gone to the stadium is maybe 35% full and that is probably being generous. (I always go to a Sunday day game) The people I work with from Toronto are really into Hockey and Baseball / Basketball is a complete after thought. 2. Move Houston to AL West. JoePepsi: I 110% agree with this. Simple math gives the brewers a 16.7% chance of winning the division but yet an AL West team has a 25% chance. I just don't get this.

I don't blame Pujols on this. The cardinals are ignorant to think he is shunning them from a "home town" discount. What in the heck was the 8 yr $111 million deal he is just getting out of? Big Al has made a whopping $ 105.5 million ($9.5 million average) over the course of his career. Arod makes that every 4 years. He has given them a home town discount for 11 years. The issue here, and for many of these similar deals, is it seems as if the home team doesn't do any future forecasting. They get to the end of a contract and go "You want to make what?" - with a suprise look on their face ... From 04 - 06, you lost the WS, lost the NLCS, and won the WS. Your best player was making $10 million a year. (We pay that alone to Wolfe for his services) ... So why wasn't money being banked from the original home town discount? In the end the cardinal fans will be the ones getting screwed in this deal. They have supported the team by showing up in high attendance numbers for years. And the thanks to them is to dump the face of their franchise. As a Brewer fan, great - Al leaving my division would be good for me, but as a fan of baseball and a fan of a small market team, it goes to show all that is wrong with Major League Baseball. I went back in 2008 and had a blast. Brewer fans were everywhere. The whole atmosphere is phenomenal. Fans were great. They say flat out, we love all baseball fans except Yankee fans. They hate the Yankees. Thinking about it makes me want to go back again this year! Go Crew! (Lets just try and not get swept this time around)

Tampa - horrible - never go. Only went because I was in town. Toronto - horrible - never go. Only went because I was in town. Wrigley - went there on purpose (unlike the two above) and it's always a good time. But the best was when I went to Fenway the last time the Crew played there and had a blast. I highly recommend going if you have the funds.
