  1. I'm willing to give Gomez more playing time now against RH and LH pitching. He's earned it and he seems different dating back to second half of last season.
  2. Can Manny Parra ever have a clean inning? He's a head case.
  3. Doug Melvin a couple years ago didn't have any problem having Gallardo AND Parra in the rotation to start the season (when they were rookies) and say they are going to contend. All of a sudden they are concerned about the pitcher? Give me a break. The same thing with Gamel, he barely has mlb experience and all of a sudden they are just giving him the 1B job outright and publicly giving him a very long leash to boot. If you can do all of those things then you should have no problem starting Peralta out of the rotation. None. This doesn't make any sense.
  4. The five man infield hurt the dodgers on that play. Kemp was playing in and had to go back on that ball (instead of coming in with momentum) and right when he caught that ball he stepped to his left which put him in the wrong position to be able to get enough on the throw to get Morgan out at home. Usually close calls like that the umpire will credit the home team. Anyways very good game again for the Brewers.
  5. Gomez has been playing well let him take over for a few straight games. No. As much as I like Gomez, he's proven in his career he is better off not facing many righties. He wont be facing many righties, because we are only talking a few games. Ride the hot hand.
  6. Gomez has been playing well let him take over for a few straight games.
  7. I wouldn't consider trading Weeks till after the 2013 season. If there is a way to keep Hart after 2013 I'd do it. I think that Hart is capable of hitting 40 hr's this season and is going to have a very good year. I think he's the better hitter. I think that people are saying that Weeks can be traded because it's looking like the Brewers will have a cheaper, younger viable alternative in Gennett. If that's the case then it makes sense to consider trading Week's. I'm ok with whatever as long as Weeks proves to be healthy over the rest of the contract from here on out. I'm also pretty sure that Week's contract is contingent on him being healthy or his 2015 option wont vest (Based on PA).
  8. I hope the Brewers are really paying attention to the pitching in the minors league system right now. Especially after tonight. If Thornburg and Peralta keep this up they both could be apart of the Brewers rotation in 2013. I wouldn't be opposed to having the Brewers letting Greinke and Marcum both go after this season and sign someone like Edwin Jackson, pick up Wolf's option, and giving Peralta a starting spot in the rotation right out of the gate in 2013 like what they are doing with Gamel. The Brewers can still be competitive with this rotation and they will be saving at least 10 million in 2013 by doing this. I'm hoping that the Brewers upper management doesn't see Peralta and Thornburg as trade chips, but as possible future home grown stars for the Brewers that they can control for 5+ years instead of 2. A rotation of, Gallardo Jackson Wolf Peralta Narveson If Thornburg continues to pitch well from now to June of 2013 call him up then, which will push back his FA eligibility.
  9. I think there is another option for the Brewers and Doug Melvin. I could see Melvin trade one of Marcum or Greinke and prospects for another top pitcher who is controlled beyond this season. Doug Melvin always goes after the top pitcher available and there have been plenty of Felix Hernandez trade rumors the last couple of seasons. I wouldn't put it past Doug Melvin to go hard after him or whoever is the top get. This would allow the Brewers to remain competitive beyond this season. I really don't see Mark A ever rebuilding. He wants to remain competitive every year for the fans, and because it's financially beneficial to him and his investors.
  10. Other than his brain farts in the post game interviews, I like his defense and I like his speed.
  11. I have also. I have seen at least 2 times when the pitcher threw a fastball right down the center of the plate to him and he was late by a mile. I'm not one to harp on Roenicke, but so far I don't like the bench that he has put together out side of Aoki. There were better options at the end of Spring Training that he could have put on the Brewers bench and chose not to (Green, Conrad and Maldonado). Don't get me wrong I hope these bench players start hitting and prove me wrong, but I doubt it.
  12. So far, I'm not liking the Brewers bench outside of Aoki. I was frustrated with RR when RR didn't go with Green or Conrad instead of Ishikawa. I was also frustrated with Kottaras making the team instead of Maldonado.
  13. Based off of what I have seen in this first inning the Brewers need to re-sign Greinke asap and give him what he wants.
  14. I'm sorry that your Dad has to go through that thebruce44. I hope he gets better.
  15. Thank you very much for posting this Kalle8. It was a wonderful read. I really enjoyed it.
  16. The Reds season has already begun and they are according to reports in the process and close to extending Brandon Phillips. For all we know the same could be happening with Greinke (Talks heading into the season). I wouldn't read too much into there being no new news. Also, Doug Melvin was supposed to talk to Casey Close for the first time today in regards to Greinke.
  17. There was also a report that Greinke wouldn't hire an agent until after the 2012 season, http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/03/greinke-plans-to-hire-an-agent.html Something apparently speed up the process. Perhaps the write-up of the contract?
  18. I really thought things could get interesting pretty quickly and here we go. If I'm the Brewers my number 1 goal is to get Greinke extended by opening day.
