Should the Brewers win tomorrow Vs the Reds, I really believe that the Brewers can win the rest of the games in the season, which are at home. The Brewers have lost what, only 2 games at home in the last month and a half? 46-29 at home this season. It will be a very good crowd at Miller Park, also. The Cards have to face the Nationals and the Reds during that stretch. Those teams will be playing all out to knock the Cards out of the playoff's. Go Brewers!

The Brewers need to sweep the Reds to have a chance to get to 3 games back before the 6 game home stand. It will be shocking if the Cards lose a game to the pathetic Astros. I don't believe they will lose a game, which is why the Brewers must sweep the Reds. It's not looking good for the Brewers right now at all after today's loss.

Marmol needs to keep the score tied, so his team has a chance for a walk off in the bottom of the 9th.

I'll be at that Reds /Brewers series in Cincinnati. I only live 2 hours from Great American Ball Park. That's going to be a very challenging and important series.

You make a very good case for why we shouldn't rebuild. I say that believing in my head that this season is over already, because we are already 8.5 games behind the Reds and I just believe the Reds wont slow down and are clearly the better team. When Lucroy comes back and Weeks becomes even just an average hitter this line-up is pretty good, and that's with getting hardly any offensive production at SS and CF. As for the Brewers pitching, I agree with those who say that we need to keep one of Greinke or Marcum. What I think will happen in regards to those two is that we hold onto Marcum and re-sign him. Now what I think will happen with Greinke is I do believe that with so many teams in the hunt this season, the second wild card spot, Greinke will likely be the top pitcher to be had, and that Greinke is likely going to get over 100 million in FA, the Brewers will without question be listening to offers on him, and because of all of this I really believe that some team will give up and overpay a ton to acquire him and force Doug Melvin's hand. If this were to happen with Greinke the Brewers could make a serious run as soon as next season. A couple other points I wanted to agree with you on is that Aoki has earned more playing time, and I'm hoping that he gets it and runs with it. I also really like Hart at 1B rather than RF, and I would give him 1B till his contract expires. I'd rather have Aoki in RF rather than CF, because I believe he is better defensively there. I'd like the Brewers to get a good hitting starting CF in a potential Greinke deal and dump both Morgan and Gomez. It's time to move forward at that position. I don't really care that Gamel doesn't have a position in these scenarios, because he didn't really prove much while playing in Milwaukee and the Brewers don't owe him anything. Stick him at AAA or trade him or do both next season. As for the Brewers bullpen issues, the best time to address that is in the off-season. No point in overpaying for it at the trade deadline.

I don't mean to sound negative guys, but what is with the Brewers and drafting hitters who likely won't stay at their current positions due to their defense? Don't get me wrong, I love the offensive upside and the power arms that these players have, but I'm kinda sick of the defensive projects like Rickie Weeks, Corey Hart, Ryan Braun, Mat Gamel etc.. I'm not sure if this is a drafting issue or if the Brewers rushed these players to the Majors (except Gamel) because they needed the offense, when the players needed more time in the minors to work on their defense or whatever, but I just think this is a legitimate issue the Brewers have that I hope they can fix.

I'm getting very anxious now. So close to #27.

The Brewers seem to be scoring more runs with Hart and Aoki at 1 and 2 in the line-up. It has stabilized the top half of the order. Why mess with what is working?

I'm torn on this. Wolf hasn't been good this season and yes there is time for him to turn it around, but should we really expect that from a now 35 year old pitcher who rely's on location to be effective? We tried that with Suppan and that really didn't turn out that good at all. Part of me wonders if the Brewers were to call up Thornburg or Peralta to replace Estrada for a few starts, and they perform well, if Doug Melvin would have the confidence to trade Wolf to make room for one of them. GM's think about the short-term, but they also have to think about the long-term as well. With Greinke and Marcum likely leaving after this season they have to start incorporating some of these young pitchers into the pitching staff. I think it's a bad move to do it at the complete last minute. I don't see Doug Melvin just giving Thornburg and Peralta spots in the rotation out of Spring Training next season. I'm thinking the Brewers can still be competitive and perhaps a better team with Wolf gone and one of the Brewers starting pitching prospects taking his place. I agree it's scary that we're not that far out of it right now.

Shouldn't the Brewers wait until the first week in June before calling up players like Peralta/Thornburg, because of service time?

Not to get off track here, but I'd actually make room for both Peralta and Estrada in the rotation assuming Peralta can turn things around. Especially the way things are going this season for the Brewers. Since Wolf is struggling a lot and this is his last season, assuming his option isn't picked up for next year, I'd trade him to dump salary. June and July would be a great time to call some of these Starting pitchers up to see what they can do assuming the Brewers are about 9 games back still and out of contention.

Aoki is impressive. I'd like to see RR increase his playing time by moving Hart to 1B more often and stick Aoki in RF. Let's see what they can really do at those positions.

I highly doubt that Doug Melvin moves Ramirez to 1B. Doug Melvin has always been one to give into veteran players demands or to play them only at their career positions. It doesn't make any sense to me..

Zach Braddock over the last season or two had a pretty big drop in his velocity and was never really the same pitcher.

Ishikawa better get his act together quickly (20 something outs in 29 AB) or he could possibly lose playing time to Conrad or even Green if the Brewers decide to call him up later and send Ishikawa down. Conrad is coming up hot from AAA and is a switch hitter, and if he continues to hit well, he will likely be given additional playing time. Ishikawa needs to take advantage of this opportunity or he wont be in Milwaukee much longer.

Manny Parra's position in the Brewers bullpen isn't safe. Based on some recent comments (I forget which Js article it was) from RR when he said "Manny Parra needs to produce", lead me to believe that if Parra doesn't start producing he will be traded or let go. I also want to add that Manny Parra doesn't have the mental strength to pitch well on a consistent bases. He has a very hard time getting ahead in the count consistently and that's always been his problem. I'm ready for a new era without Parra.
