  1. Maybe they won't be able to sign Allie and we can re-draft him with a top pick next year.
  2. Hello Almighty, I've had a rough year so far as Brewer fan. If you could allow Stetson Allie to fall to us, have us pick him and then sign him, I would be grateful. Thanks.
  3. He sounds like he has Sheets' sense of humor with the comment about his parents being too cheap to get MLB Network. If he turns out close to Sheeter I will be thrilled.
  4. Obviously this would be hard to say, but what are the odds Stetson Allie makes it to us in round 2?
  5. Pomeranz to the Brewers for Jeff Suppan. Best day ever!
  6. I love the draft. I'm hoping for Allie, but as long as its someone that won't be there in the second round I will bite my tongue and trust in the experts. I wasn't happy with Rogers or even Braun for that matter when they were drafted and so far Bruan at least has put me in my place. Here's to hoping for the best! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  7. Sorry, I guess I should have stated that better. I don't believe we could get Hellickson for McGehee. I was just stating I'd rather get a pitcher with more upside than a number 4 guy since we already seem to have a bunch of those anyway. I don't mind waiting a bit for an arm since we probably aren't going anywhere next year either.
  8. Yeah, I would not be interested in Sonnanstine for McGehee at all. I'd much rather have Hellickson, especially since McGehee is so cheap for the next few years. I'd also rather not give up on Stetter. I realize that we have a bunch of lefties, but I think we need all the young arms we can hold on to. I'd rather send Hawkins and some cash than give up Mitch.
  9. Oh oh. I don't know if I like the sound of that. I hope they don't reach too much.
  10. I just typed a long response saying pretty much the same thing. I would much rather have some Heckthorns and Arnetts that will take a few years to develop than any more Estradas, Loes, or Lofgrens. No offense to those guys as they have helped us a bunch this year, but we shouldn't be building around them.
  11. I totally agree. We don't have that many extra picks this year so we should be able to spend on picks. Although I'd like an arm, I'd be excited about Choice or Castellanos. As bad as our pitching is, we could be in the opposite boat a few years from now if we draft pitching every year. Of course that has worked for TB.
  12. 10-17 Tiebreaker 2 + 1 +3 = 7 Hopefully after this month Melvin has a better idea of where this team is headed and can start building for two to three years from now instead suffering through more "hopefully we'll be around .500" type season and have my heart crushed.
  13. I saw that too. Good think we are playing one of the worst teams in the league or we could be down by a lot more.
  14. C'mon Bushy. Hopefully he pitches well enough to become enticing on the trade market. Might be hoping for too much.
  15. There goes another trading chip. Good luck and all the best Zauny.
  16. I think we really need to go with an arm with our first pick since it much harder to get great arms in later rounds. We desparately need arms and if a bunch of the pitchers we have now turn out to be the real thing, I believe we can probably get more trading a pitcher who will be cheap for years than a bat under similar circumstances. I agree though that the bats are getting thin also, I just think we need pitching first. Admittedly I am more of a pitching/defense wins championships guy so I may be a bit biased.
  17. That was fast. Way to snatch defeat from the arms of victory Hoff. Sigh. If we push this to double digit losses in a row I think I'll take a break from the Brewers til my ulcer gets better.
  18. Yeah I noticed the same thing. Sounds like I blew my speakers.
  19. God, I love Ueck calling Carpenter a whiner. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  20. While I'm not as critical on Macha as some, he has made his share of "head-scratcher" moves or non-moves already this season. If he continues on his current pace, I have to believe he will not have a job by summer. With that said, What would be the problem with giving Randolph a shot? He has the major league XP and the players seem to be familiar with and like the guy. I say give Randolph a shot if things continue and go from there. The only downside to this is if the Brewers play decent after he takes over, DM will have a hard time hiring someone else after the season ends.
  21. Sigh. Well at least Hoffman didn't give up the lead this time....I guess. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  22. Holy Cow! Two crappy hitters get two hits in a row! Hopefully Hoffman pitches better. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  23. Woohoo! Way to go Zaun. I have to say, I was rooting for a hit after the interview with some local reporter. At least HE can keep a sense of humor about going 0 for the year.
  24. Hart AND Parra? I think the risk of that exploding in our face is too much for DM to approve. If either comes close to their potential I think that would be pretty one-sided. I don't think Saunders is that decent.
  25. I figure 5 legit and 5 un-legit (?) runs in the first should do the trick. Go Soup!!!
