  1. One thing that I have always thought is that by the time we get doing something it seems as though practice is over. I wouldn't mind a little more time in there.
  2. Whether a player get booed or cheered depends on the 10% percent of the stadium that starts the cheering/jeering. Whatever they do the rest of the sheep will follow.
  3. I agree on the quality, weak this year so far.
  4. I thought I would add the Florida series as well. If there are Weekend games that you would like (besides bobbles) and you want tickets you can make an offer for them. Just shoot me a PM.
  5. At the game and was surpised Sheets went out there but you have to reward him with that shutout and with only 108 pitches I don't think he was overused. Great game.
  6. Hey parents, if your kid is kicking the back of someone's seat, tell them to stop. If they don't stop, remove them, restrain them, spank them, I don't care. I just want to watch the game without my neck acting as a foot rest. I even did the "seinfeld" look back at the Mom three times to no avail.
  7. I have an extra, 10 dollars plus shipping and it's yours. -Taken-
  8. I am interested in seeing my seats for the first time this year. Last year I was a little disapointed with the view and I think I upgraded this year in terms of seating arrangement.
  9. A lot of hope and optimism in this thread. Reverse Jinx time.... Zito-7 2/3, 4 hits, 1 er, and 1 walk Sheets-4 1/3, 6 hits, 5 er, and 3 walks Giants-9 Brewers-1
  10. I love me some tractor pulls. I usually get my insulated flannel, camoflague cap, Wrangler jeans, and crapkickers on while making a quick stop to get a pack of smokes and a sixer of Pabst before setting out for it in my Ford F150 to the pulls.
  11. Did Yost say that because I was hoping it was?
  12. This will be my second game watching Sheets pitch this young year. Hopefully, he mirrors the first.
  13. I would think a power dip would be coming but strictly because 50 HRs is a very hard feat. Anywhere between 35-45 for him sounds right.
  14. I created a Powerpoint and on Monday my students will show it to her and try and pursuade her. I am crossing my fingers.
  15. Under Pressure-Bowie and Queen
  16. I did sell them for a but more (15 dollars) but it certainly was not worth the hassle.
  17. Dang my imagination then! I will for sure do concession prices though, thanks.
  18. So the deal is this. I love baseball and I love teaching and I want to somehow combine the two for a day out at Miller Park with my class. My principal is a stickler for having "no fun" field trips, meaning everything needs to have an educational purpose. My need is this; I am looking for different ways to incorporate math at a Brewer game. Keep in mind these kids are in third grade so we need to keep the OPS and WHIP out of this. Think "Big Unit" from 620... So far I have converting frractions to decimals (ie-Hart went 3/4 so his batting average is .750) Also with this, we could have them draw bats giving us the number of at-bats during the game for said player and circle the amount of times they got on base and create a fraction to go along with it. I need to wow her and I will be creating a Powerpoint to try and get this done. All ideas would be appreciated. They are working on the basics (mult, div, fract, averages) Also, I called my season ticket guy but he has not called back about getting a deal on tickets. Does anyone know if there is one?
  19. Pirates and whoever wins the AL cent.
  20. I was wondering the same thing, I think it is. I know his avatar is for sure. Yes it is.
  21. I think we should all make snide remarks and have a false sense of superiority.
  22. Just got back from the game and some thoughts I had: 1) Pretty mild for fan enthusiasm but the weather could have dampered that. 2) The Cubs fans were booing Wood pretty good. 3) The fans were very nice the whole day. 4) Sheets looked filthy as did Zambrano and Marmol. 5) Fukodome lit the stadium up in the ninth and a lot fans got in our faces. Tough break for them. 6) The stadium and grass looked good. It was my first trip there. 7) A lot of empty seats throughout the whole game. 8) Soriano=Weeks=Lost out there.
  23. First off, yes I am that much of a loser. Second off, I am really bored. Third, Neil Flynn, "The Janitor" from Scrubs plays the guy that hugs the "horned" fellow in celebration at the end of the movie. Now we got that out of the way, I would like to try and figure out the batting order for the team. Things we know... -Willie Mays Hayes bats leadoff (CF) to start the year but it is unknown where he bats for the last game. -Dorn batted .271 and 86 RBIs (3B and former high priced talent) throughout the year. -Cerano is their "Power Hitter" but his position is unkown. -Jake Taylor(Slower and Old-All Star at one time) is the catcher. -All other 5 positions (DH because we are in the American league) are unaccounted for. Now for the 163rd game of the year I have been thinking about how they realistically set up their lineup. Here are the clues given thoughout the game. -The Yankee SP was in for 8 1/3 innings. -The Indians had a combined 11 hits for the game. -The Yankees had no errors. -In the bottom of the third (No runs scored at this time) Cerano strikes out. (unknown baserunners) -Willie Mays Hayes ends the fourth with a pop-out (no runs scored in the game) (unknown baserunners) -Cerano strikes out again in the fifth. -No runs scored through 6 innings. -Jake Taylor grounded out for the second out in the bottom of the 7th. -Dorn bats after Taylor. (bats and scores in the 7th) -Cerano bats after Dorn. (Hits a HR in the 7th) -Tomlinson (?) bats in the ninth and makes the second out (Flyout to RF). -Hayes bats after Tomlinson. -Taylor bats after Hayes. -Dorn is seen on the bench during Hayes's at-bat, no helmet or bat. -Cerano is seen on the bench during Taylor's at-bat, no helmet or bat. -Dorn is seen on the bench during Hayes's at-bat, no helmet or bat showing he is not on deck (?) -The on deck person is never shown for Taylor's at-bat. Should be pretty straight forward in the order... 1) Hayes 2) Taylor 3) ???? 4) Dorn 5) Cerano 6) ???? 7) ???? 8) ???? 9) Tomlinson (Or PH) Fishy Things- -Hayes ending the fourth with a popout. Has to be his third at-bat according to this order. -Cerano with K's in the third inning, again with no runs (minimal hits as well) What I am saying is am I wrong in the batting order, is it totally different? Let's just say that none of these are production errors and everything is meant to be this way. Give me the batting order that would make the most sense given the circumstances that I have listed.
