  1. Luis Ramirez with some great numbers thus far in the AZ league
  2. Is there a storm brewing in the Gulf? Seems to me that the corked bat suspension has only made Hernan angry, and he's been upgraded to category 2 Also, good to see Hutchinson on the hill for the MArlins affiliate. He's a nut, but a good, fun guy.
  3. Whoa, judging by the run tallies, Pittsburgh not only shouldn't be 13 games back from us, they should actually have a better record than us. an interesting project for someone during the game (I'll be there) might be to figure out the run differentials when you eliminate Brewers-Pirates games. Off the top of my head, I would think the Pirates and Brewers ratios are heavily skewed because of those series
  4. He graduated from The Hun School. Take that as you will. word has it that he had straight A's in the school's core curriculum, including Destruction, Bood Feuds, and both Raping and Pillaging.
  5. nice...take that Reds 5.0 games back. Reds 1.5 back. Tonight a Cards loss would bring us to 4.5 back.
  6. are we sure about De La Rosa? Didn't he throw on Thurs? Still, a fairly exciting group tonight
  7. Mass, thanks for everything always. Always willing to help out, and some day I'm sure our paths will cross. Having some help will definitely benefit you, as you work your butt off each and every night/day of the season, and many in the offseason, and that's not even counting your real job(s)
  8. Past pitchers who were bumped to AA, like Ty Taubenhiem and Carlos Villanueva, initially struggled, so Yo's dominance is a little suprising exactly. I can't recall dominance without high walk totals since Steve Woodard. I would hope he gets 5-7 starts in AA, at least. Plus if Ohka and Sheets get back, that means Jackson and Villanueva will likely go down.
  9. Inman roolz. just seeing the word/name "Inman" makes me smile
  10. boy this Dillard guy stinks. He should be moved to the pen since he obviously doesn't know how to finish a game. However, in seriousness, I wonder if he can still catch. I mean, we could ask him to start 34 times at pitcher. Would being a backup catcher for 20-30 games really be that tough? He can't hit worse than Moeller, and he WAS drafted as a catcher one of his 3 times.
  11. I didn't watch those at bats, but those last two had to be ugly why do you say that? this kid has a nasty 93 mph heater with movement, and a tight slider that he got Jenkins on. Other than the two that nearly hit Hall, his command has been very sharp
  12. wow, was it Brant Brown day at Wrigley?
  13. nice start for the Hun in West Virginia. And of course, Hendrickson trying to give them more headaches in the front office.
  14. am I the only one disappointed with Mannon? Just checking, cause I remember seeing him and Heether take AB's in spring training in '05, and I thought "wow, these guys have nice swings." I enjoyed following him, even though success was rare
  15. Are we going to get shut out by the Royals??? It looks like it. Hasn't Redman always owned us? With Fla, Pitt, and now the Royals
  16. wow, exciting to see Inman, Parillo, and TBD pitching. Although I was kind of hoping they'd keep Jones in the pen for the rest of the year, but I'm keeping an eye on that one optimistically.
  17. so did someone in West Virgina put Helena Brewers jerseys in the lockers? That's how they hit last year!
  18. remember, Huntsville is more hitter friendly than Brevard County
  19. looked it up, and Hart has 8 gidp's in only 91 at bats.
  20. wow, another GIDP? Seriously, Hart must be nearing some record for most GIDP's in first 50 starts. At one game last year he hit into 3, and the other would have been a DP if there hadn't been 2 outs. I guess it can only get better
  21. how close to a homer was Hall's shot? Gameday shows it against the wall
  22. Jamie, I should mention I saw Chad almost hit an inside the park homer in spring training '05. Almost, because the throw beat him home, but the catcher missed it, yet proceeded to tag Chad. He thought he'd been tagged out, and started walking to the dugout right past the plate, when the pitcher (backing up the throw) walked up and tagged him, mere inches from the plate.
  23. ouch. Another hit for a pitcher? Perhaps AL pitchers have an advantage over our pitchers due to lower expectations. they go up there just trying to make contact, whereas ours go up there trying to execute.
  24. That one is for the people who say Hart is already better than jenkins. I dont think so. brewers77, I've said Corey has superior range and a better arm (that says a lot!), but I haven't said his outfield instincts are good. Last year he looked aweful out there, especially in RF, but better in CF. Jenkins doesn't get very good reads on a lot of balls, but he makes up for it with diving and sliding plays, and his arm is so respected that he can get a bad read, but the guy still won't try for 2nd on him.
  25. nice way to start for the Crew. Rickie gotting on in the first so much is nice
