Watching the video has me excited. He’s not a launch monitor creation, but rather a nice line drive stroke. I especially liked seeing him hit pitches up in the zone.
Given Woodruff started today, Peralta and Burnes are likely throwing in the All-star game, how do we think the Brewers will line things up? Unfortunately I think the game might not set us up strongest against the Reds Friday: ? Lauer, Anderson, or Houser Saturday: Woodruff Sunday: Burnes Tuesday: Peralta Wednesday: ??
I don’t care about wrong calls. That happens and it’s part of the human part of the game. The terrible use of replay is my frustration. Why is there a different standard for us and our opponents EVERY game?
According to the MLB policies, he clearly should have been ruled safe due to lack of conclusive evidence. MLB seems to rule against the Brewers every game. Clear wrong calls aren’t overturned in our favor. Calls our way with no clear evidence are routinely overturned. I don’t get it
You don't need air between his shoe and the base when his foot slams back onto the base. A foot doesn't slam back onto the base unless it was off the base. Define “slam” please. I see a foot slightly twist and reorient to maintain control of the bag. It never fully lifted off the bag as far as the evidence shows
Except he wasn’t. He was called safe. While all angles show his foot move/shift, there’s no angle that shows a gap between the foot and the bag. You can’t see that his spikes weren’t on the bag. Sorry, you’re just flat wrong
There’s no way that was conclusive. Why does NY hate the Brewers so much? We lose inconclusive plays that were initially called our way. We lose obvious plays that we’re called wrong but then not overturned like they should have been.
He's also hit into some bad luck lately. In the last 3 weeks there's been several well hit liners snagged with shoestring grabs. I'm not defending him by any means, but he's been better lately than in April and May Having said that, I'm of the play Taylor more bandwagon. When he plays, he hits the ball to all fields with authority.
If Cowser is available at #15 I think he’d be one of my favorite possibilities for the Brewers. My gut is that he’ll go before the Brewers first selection. Five drafts since Stearns took the helm, five college players, four position players, three LHH. I don't see them deviating. I think there's a couple of reasons. While they covet star talent, Stearns and co seem to view all players as assets. Drafting a college player may get them to AA/AAA a little faster, making them either a phone call away for us or trade bait to improve the big league club.
1) Wong back Thursday puts Peterson at 1b or the bench. Solves multiple criticisms of yours 2) Cain back around the 20th solidifies CF and puts Bradley on bench 3) Vogelbach back around Aug 1 improves the offense at 1b/ph/dh 4) Topa hopefully back in August strengthens the pen 5) Shaw back in mid-August strengthens 1b/3b/ph/DH
I've never been able to actually determine if the 'not within the division' stuff is actually true or just the feeling of us fans. Agreed, especially when a player is a short-term rental. Teams want the best deals for their rosters, and sometimes divisional foes offer those
