  1. So you don't believe that he is a competent RF or even LF anymore? He has had a better career UZR/150 than Braun, the only difference is that Braun makes flashy plays and Hart is more conservative in the field. He is at absolute worst "average" in RF and is becoming a dang good 1B which should only increase his value. The only reason he is playing 1B is because of Gamel's injury. Now thats not saying that I don't prefer him at 1B with our current roster, but not many teams have the OF depth that we have. Heck, we have 2 guys in AAA that could be 4th OF's right now for a lot of teams. I love Hart, but I think that he will price himself out of Milwaukee if he can continue to put up .275/.335/.480 with 25-30 HR and 75-90 RBI. Considering what Ethier and Werth have got in recent years, I could see him fetching at least a 4 year deal with anywhere form 35M-55M.
  2. He's just pissed that Brewer fans destroyed his little poll. I honestly believe that if he had ranked MP more appropriately (top 5-10) we wouldn't be going through all of these shenanigans.
  3. With Beachy now out for the year we could try and offer them Marcum if he checks our health wise. Minor still intrigues me even though he's had a rough start to the year. He would look great as our 2nd LHP next year with Narveson. Pastornicky gives us at worst a cost-controlled bridge to Riviera in a few years. Marcum for Minor & Pastornicky
  4. Heyman reports it's for 9 years at around 30M
  5. Cubs got Soler according to NY Post
  6. According to Fangraphs: Pastornicky is considered an average defender with skills that play up because of his instincts. His pre-pitch positioning is excellent and he reads the ball very well off the bat; he gets good jumps to both sides. He has good footwork and soft hands and, while he doesn’t have highlight reel range, he has more than enough for the position. In all I can deal with an average defender considering that is all we have at the position currently in my opinion. It's his potential that sets him apart from what we currently have. Worse case scenario we have our starting SS til we develop someone better (Riviera). I think our lineups recently has shown a lot about what the org thinks about Green. Today he isn't starting over Ransom or Maysonet(Ransom at SS). Garza is a RHP and they are starting 2 RH hitters instead of him.
  7. Maybe a Marcum & Green for Minor & Pastornicky swap would work. Minor is having a rough year, but still has prety potential as at least a #3. Marcum gives them a proven player for their stretch run and Green is great insurance for Chipper, Uggla, & Freeman.
  8. Don't we need someone to pick up for Aramis being injured/old? I don't think Pastornicky is worth trading anything for. Listen I love Green as much as the next guy, but I just don't think this team see's Green in their long term future, so trade him for basically a similar 2WAR player at a premium position and who is still only 22. Green is blocked by Ramirez and Weeks for the foreseeable future, and 2B looks like it'l Gennett's to take when Weeks is gone. At SS we have 3 30-something below average utility players STARTING as SS for us. Can he really be any worse than what we have at SS right now? We have people clamoring for a waiver pickup from KC in AAA, think about that for a second. Pastornicky is young and still has room to grow. He had very similar numbers to Escobar when he was coming up, except Escobar was 1-2 years older at each level.
  9. He also seems to be very interested in the behind the scenes aspect of baseball and the Brewers are giving him the opportunity to explore that. He has had nothing but good things to say about the team/town/owner, and we all know it't not like Greinke to sugar coat anything. If it is selling off a few pieces and getting back MLB-ready talent, then I could see him recognizing the vision that Melvin and Attanasio are taking.
  10. Pastornicky just got sent down by the Braves to make room for Adrelton Simmons. He has some questions about his arm sticking at SS, but he has great instincts (think Hardy w/o the arm). Maybe we could pick him up for Green+? They need somebody to pick up for Chipper always being injured/old. Green & C prospect for Pastornicky
  11. It doesn't necessarily force Hart to flip back and forth if you do that. Ishikawa has the ability to play RF so I could see a scenario where he gets a couple starts in RF against a RHP. I just think a lineup with us using all of our solid OF's gives our infield some stability as well with a regular 1B.
  12. With the team as constructed as it is this year I would actually think I makes for our best lineup to have all 3 platoon in both CF and RF with Hart moving to 1B full time. It would improve our defense in the outfield and infield while improving our offense as well. The pairings would be: RHP - Morgan and Aoki LHP - Gomez and Aoki Occasional RHP lineup - Gomez and Morgan Basically make it so everyone gets 2/3 starts in the OF. Sorry if this is incoherent but I'm typing it on my phone!
  13. That's kind of painting with broad strokes don't you think? Rivera, Hoffman, and Smoltz were all core players for their teams during their careers and Rivera still is. Now I understand what you are saying that closers are a dime a dozen, but if you have a good one then you keep it as long as the cost is reasonable and you aren't committing to the very long term. Axford is under control for another 3 years and if you can make a contract with him to buy out those years and have cost certainty then you do it.
  14. I really think the person we should be looking at is Bourjos. Paired with Gomez he could give us one of the best defensive OF in all of baseball. Move Hart to 1B and you improve the defense at 2 positions. The only difficult thing about this would be figuring out who plays CF between Gomez and Bourjos. They are bot stellar in CF but I'd have to go with Gomez. If you platoon Gomez/Aoki, then you have Bourjos play CF and Aoki in RF. Kottaras, K-Rod, Morgan for Bourjos, Romine, Fieri RF Bourjos 2B Weeks LF Braun 3B Ramirez 1B Hart CF Gomez/Aoki C Lucroy SS Romine Pitcher
  15. I like your idea, but if I am thinking more realistically I don't think there is a chance we could pry Segura from them. He is their top prospect and not getting traded for a back-up catchers (albeit a good one) and a rental of K-Rod. I could see us maybe getting Trumbo and Andrew Romine from them for Kottaras and K-Rod. Romine is a switch-hitter, a stud defensively and currently has a OBP of .391 in the PCL. Both players can fill right in for us this season and Romine gives us a few more years to develop Rivera or Arcia. Kottaras, K-Rod, filler for Trumbo & Romine CF Gomez/Aoki/Morgan 2B Weeks LF Braun 3B Ramirez RF Hart 1B Trumbo C Lucroy SS Romine Pitcher
  16. I don't think they at knockoffs because they were all the EXACT same color. They just seem to be a fashion jersey but I cannot find them anywhere!!
  17. Hey guys. So I was at the brewer game last night and I saw a few jerseys that were a darker grey than the normal road jerseys. Well I've been looking all over the Internet for one and can find them anywhere. Anybody know where I could get one? Thanks!
  18. Exactly. He argued only what he could prove. There was no way to prove that there was tampering with the sample or that it was a faulty test. That is why nobody had ever won an appeal before. He was able to prove that the MLB testing process did not follow protocol in handling his sample. Smart move by him.
  19. Law's Brewers Top 10 *(Top 100 Ranking) 1. Wily Peralta, RHP (39)* 2. Taylor Jungmann, RHP (58)* 3. Jed Bradley, LHP 4. Tyler Thornburg, RHP 5. Taylor Green, 3B 6. Scooter Gennett, 2B 7. Cody Scarpetta, RHP 8. Logan Schafer, CF 9. Caleb Gindl, OF 10. Nick Ramirez, 1B
  20. Sorry I am new with all of this. How would I find and address to mail him a letter asking permission to send them to him?
  21. Bummer I can't make it tomorrow. Well I'll just keep my eyes open for a signing somewhere. Thanks guys!!!
  22. Not baseball, but I have been trying to find a signing with William Henderson and I am coming up empty. I have his gloves from the 1996 Divisional Playoff game vs the 49ers and want them signed but I keep striking out. Any suggestions?
  23. I think its mostly to get that extra step towards first base to try and leg out a infiled hit/stretch in 2B's. Its the same reason a lot of RH'd batters will push a bunt to the 1st base line to try and get a bunt hit. They are starting their momentum early to get an extra step towards the bag.
  24. Don't get me wrong, I don't want this to be the case, but with the slow/no news coming anymore this offseason due to the budget being maxed out I thought we could use a little pot stirring. Umm didn't we just win a bid for "the best Japanese hitter since Ichiro" like three days ago? I don't think that's slow or no news. It's not even January, there's still a few moves that will most likely be made. I get that you're just trying to start a discussion but I don't think we need to start talking about being sellers at the deadline. To me that implies already giving up and selling off multiple pieces. On the other hand, if you want to discuss which players you think could be traded for the best value, then do that by all means. The Corey Hart thread is kind of doing that already with him. I just hate talking about being sellers at the deadline when there's still two months until spring training. That being said, I would trade just about anyone if they made us better, either now or for the future. This is the intent of the conversation. Who, if moved can bring the most back/reload us for the future. I think Hart is a big one, and I think Weeks would be a very interesting candidate for that discussion.
  25. Don't get me wrong, I don't want this to be the case, but with the slow/no news coming anymore this offseason due to the budget being maxed out I thought we could use a little pot stirring. We are a Gamel flop, Ramirez fall off, or a pitching injury from being very mediocre without Braun for 50 games. There are a lot of question marks about this team currently and I hope that everything will fall in our favor, but this team is not structured to contend at a high level beyond this year if Greinke/Marcum aren't extended.
