  1. I don't think there has been an accepted mutual option in MLB since 2014. Probably if he stays healthy then the brewers offer, because if nothing else he would have positive trade value. Will probably take a 3 year deal to sign him at this rate.
  2. How many injuries does it take to get Gary an inning or 2 at SS
  3. Didn't 3 guys get hurt in a time span of just a few days? They clearly just filled a spot with some random scrub off the street while they figure stuff out and make real plans.
  4. I still have some hope long term, we have seen that type of turn around before, but his 2026 season is very much done (it was weeks ago IMO)
  5. Sproat superpower is putting a few base runners on and giving up a big hit and then quietly retiring the side after all the runners were plated. So obvious that guy just doesn’t have it mentally right now.
  6. Been going though some other trades and this one feels like an overpay compared to Mize and Peralta but the Cubs gave up a lot for Holmes so that balances it out a bit.
  7. We lose trade deadline week every year. It's the one huge negative on an otherwise great FO.
  8. That prospect haul is basically nothing. Just org depth guys very likely.
  9. Naylor is not a bad pickup, definitely not an exciting one though. Think this trade is more forward looking to next year and beyond but might also give us flexibility for another trade this year. I was not too attached to either guy we sent out.
  10. It's an interesting trade deadline this year. 3 teams were supposed to be good but fell flat and are essentially in fire sale mode. Mets giants Tigers. Lots of interesting players there. Most on expensive contracts, but not all. Many will get gobbled up by the Dodgers and Yankees for small prospect costs. Then the bottom feeder teams. I count 5. Royals As angels Reds Rockies. Not many great players there but more sellers is better. Finally there are quite a few retool teams who are on the bubble and will likely try to trade for this year and the next few years. MLB talent going both ways. Probably about half the league falls into this category. Nats Mariners Marlins Padres Astros are a few standouts with lots of interesting players and looking to be active. Here's hoping for a lot of activity.
  11. It’s not crazy to think we could trade for a Seattle starter and get the good version (home splits). We get the good version of all the other pitchers we trade for.
  12. Was thinking about Seattle trade ideas. I think Jett for Hancock would be a great trade for us but not sure it does enough for Seattle to agree. Vaughn is a guy i am not looking to trade but I think he is closer to what they want. Would be interesting what that trade could look like.
