  1. I think it's more to do with us than balls going out that shouldn't go out. It was a ball on the corner of the strike-zone... not a bad pitch.
  2. Lohse isn't the guy to be patient to and the huge strikezone isn't the time to take pitches. When there's two pitches right down the pipe, the batters should be more aggressive. Watching two strikes go by puts you straight against the wall. Chase this guy by punishing the fastball, not diddling until you're down in the count and have to swing at junk. Frustrating.
  3. Because outside of Braun and Prince the offense has been in a slump all year. I can't remember even a small stretch where I was thinking man these Brewer's can mash. Kind of. The Brewers finished 8th in mlb in batting average. Take away any team's 3-4 hitters it's probably remains in the middle of the pack. While they were never over-powering, they were around average. Definitely a slump from what their average was earlier in the year.
  4. This is a terrible time for the offense to go into a slump after the pitching has picked up. Why can't they ever pick up at the same time?
  5. Well they finally have a 1-2-3 first inning and the offense repays the pitching by going 1-7 against the Cardinals worst post-season starter who hasn't pitched in 2 weeks.
  6. Not much chance? You think he would rather have a strikeout than a single or walk? Besides, Hariston and Yuni have been doing well this posteason.... And horray for the first 1-2-3 first inning this postseason for the Brewers!
  7. Brewers better not have another pathetic first inning... I'm pretty much expecting 3 runs right here. I'll be satisfied with 2 or fewer.
  8. Wolf better pitch a foot off the strike zone and expect strikes.
  9. You can't assume the same exact results would have happened given an out in that situation. A double play after an out could have kept the inning scoreless... Pujols could have hit it out on the first pitch. The fact is, Yo was pitching terribly and the Cardinals batted around. Kotsay shouldn't be in that situation to run down the ball... Yo should have kept it down to get a ground ball, not a hard hit to the gap... and you should trust in your 'ace' enough that a single run-down in centerfield isn't the difference in the game. I would rather have Gomez, but who knows, Gomez has had some bone-head base-running moves and defensive plays against the Cardinals this year too. I think the pitching match-ups were great in the end, and he put the team in good position to succeed. He put the matchups in to give the brewers 8 scoreless innings, despite everyone complaining about Narveson in the 8th.
  10. I think most managers would have gone with a power fastball hitter in the last at-bat. Problem was he got down in the count and had to chase. It's frustrating he took the pitch down the middle for a strike. I don't think Kotaras would have gone yard there either... it's not RR fault that the last batter of the game with two strikes didn't score the tying run. Much more problems before that. Ron could have put a pillow in at the end and I wouldn't blame the game on the manager. I didn't like Kotsay in there either to start, but he did get a walk and hit a home run. I think that's a pretty good day at the plate, which is more production than what Morgan has been doing. He gave up a run in the field, but added a run with his bat. Too bad there weren't any runners on. Yo shouldn't have been giving up long fly-balls in the first place. Braun and Fielder needed to come up big, and they didn't. That was my biggest disappointment. We don't expect Yuni to go 2-4 every game, but we should have a lead-off hitter who gets on to give the heart of the lineup RBI opportunities. That didn't happen and Braun and Fielder were too quiet to give even the bottom of the line-up a chance for hits. Pitching-wise, Ron managed the game perfectly. The only 1-2-3 inning of the game for the Brewers came from the guy who caused all of you to say what an idiot RR is. He walked Pujols twice, obviously worked out great.
  11. And the terrible first inning pitching by Yo and the quiet offense down the stretch has nothing to do with it.Kotsay never should have been starting and had he not been Yo gives up 1 run not 4. So that terrible first inning pitching turns in to probably 6 innings of 1 run ball and its 2-1. The offense disappearing means nothing at that point. There was absolutely no reason to start Kotsay in CF and it cost in a big way. Can you go through the progression of 1 run instead of 4? They batted around that inning, I don't think Yo was pitching nearly well enough to escape with 1 run even if that's an out on the second batter.
  12. Narveson will get two quick outs and an 0-2 pitch to the third batter... this is where you bring in K-Rod.
  13. And the terrible first inning pitching by Yo and the quiet offense down the stretch has nothing to do with it.
  14. I wonder if the rain's getting to the batters? Only hits have been singles since early in the game.
  15. Let me try: A lead-off double to the gap and a Prince home run to the right field seats would be the ticket here...
  16. Give Carpenter trouble to face a faulty bullpen... and what happens? The bats die completely. Not even close. NOT the time for the bats to quiet.
  17. That was an obvious situation... base open with a righty on deck.
