  1. Don Vito - I agree with Robert DeNiro Michael - Jon Hamm (from Mad Men) Sal Tessio - Frank Vincent (from The Sopranos) Fredo - Steve Buscemi? Tom Hagen - Ralph Fiennes
  2. It is the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. The Rockford site (www.flyrfd.com) does not have its spring flight schedule up yet, but you can book flights at www.allegiantair.com. Allegiant Air is your only option. It's nothing fancy, but it works for me. My trip, with all costs included, cost me around $350 this past spring but I believe it is cheaper if you book early. The only bad thing is that your choice of flights is pretty limited, so you'd have to be pretty flexible with your schedule. I stayed at my brother's house in Maricopa, used his car all week, and just went to games every day by myself. So it was cheap and as hassle-free as it could possibly be.
  3. I will be heading down there again in the spring. Probably fly out of Rockford again. Cheap, less hassle, a lot less people, free parking and no waiting. Plus Rockford flies to the Mesa airport rather than to the big one in Tempe. Only problem is they only have a few flights per week down to Phoenix.
  4. Triunfel is out for the year with a fractured tibia.
  5. Yep, rain delay after 1/2 inning of play. Escobar hit an infield single and scored a run & Lawrie grounded out to 1b.
  6. How about an almost shutout from the Arizona youngsters! I don't recall 'seeing' such a nice game from the kids, at least pitching-wise. I really like Jose Garcia. I know it is the smallest of samples, but so far so good for him. I wonder what to make of the Brewers keeping Garcia in Arizona while Arias got the bump to Helena. I don't remember seeing any reasoning behind that. Do the Brewers actually consider Arias as having a more advanced bat? They put up pretty similar #'s last year in AZL...with Arias drawing more walks and Garcia showing a little more power...small sample. Has Arias shown he has less maturing to do either physically or mentally? Arias is a little bigger and slightly older...although they both have very good size. Since the Brewers paid a bit more for Garcia are they bringing him along slower to protect him? Whatever it is, once Pena is in the mix, the Brewers will have a pretty nice trio of young Dominican outfielders! Only 10 games in, but it's nice to actually look forward to seeing the AZL box score every day for a reason other than to see how many walks and wild pitches the Santo Manzanillo's and Luis Jimenez's of the system surrendered.
  7. That's what I thought too when I read the list. It is even ordered by team like they opened up the 2003 standings and clicked on each team...the AL East is usually listed first when you pull up standings and NL West is usually listed last...which is how this list is ordered. No Albert Pujols either, which makes me think either a Cardinals fan made this list or they forgot to click on the Cardinals. Edit: Also, it seems that for each team, the confirmed users are listed first in most cases. Like Roger Clemens, Jason Giambi, Alex Rodriguez, Benito Santiago, Bret Boone, etc. are all listed first for their teams. So it's like whoever made this list up made sure they first included the players who have already been identified and then filled in the blanks with everybody else. Whoever made this list is not very skilled in deception.
  8. Lorenzo Cain and Erik Komatsu both in the lineup for the Arizona Rookies tonight!
  9. Finally a very nice line from Rolando Pascual: 3.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 SO (no wild pitches, no hit batters) Hiram Burgos...not so nice a line is his pro debut: 2.1 IP, 9 H, 11 R (8 ER), 2 BB, 3 SO, 3 HR Helena down 13-4 after 4. Garfield and Mike Roberts have gone deep for the Brewers.
  10. Andrew Clark was drafted out of high school in Indiana. After being kicked off the team at Mississippi, he went on to Louisville and was drafted in the 31st round by the Cubs this year. I remember he was offended by the Brewers having the audacity to draft him so low (19th round or whatever...he was thinking 2nd or 3rd round)...now he's a 31st round pick.
  11. Brad Schreiber from Kimberly, WI was the Brewers' 42nd round choice.
  12. 31 - Jose Oveido - RHP - Miami Dade CC South 32 - Chris Ellington - RF - TCU 33 - Jacobbi McDaniel - 3B - Madison County HS (FL) 34 - Michael Ojala - RHP - Rice 35 - Matt Costello - LHP - Valdosta State 36 - Joshua Turley - LHP - Texas HS (AZ) 37 - Cullen Sexton - RHP - Minnesota 38 - Casey Stevenson - 2B - UC Irvine 39 - Brady Rodgers - RHP - Lamar Consolidated HS, Rosenberg, TX 40 - Kyle Hansen - RHP - St. Dominic HS, Oyster Bay, NY Kyle Hansen is the brother of Craig Hansen and would be a dream to sign, but that is probably highly unlikely.
  13. He's a big-time 5-star Florida State football recruit...plays defensive tackle. Gotta imagine he's a tough sign.

  17. 3. I'll guess Christy Mathewson did not have a number on his jersey as numbers were not used in that era. I don't know about Chuck Klein. I'll guess he didn't have a consistent number throughout his career unlike most players.
  18. 1. Ken Griffey Jr. - George 2. Chipper Jones - Larry 4. CC Sabathia - Carsten 7. Corey Hart - Jon 12. Seth McClung - Michael
