  1. Rollie wasn't unanimous in both awards. He just narrowly edged out Rickey Henderson for MVP that year.
  2. 2) Dennis Eckersley 4) Reds? 5) Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth....Jimmie Foxx?
  3. Tigers' first World Series win was 1935. So that would eliminate Hack Wilson and Babe Ruth's accomplishments. Frankie Frisch won the first modern MVP award in the NL...not sure what year.
  4. Giants (the New York version) went to 4 straight sometime in the 20's, beating the Yankees a couple of times. I believe the Tigers appeared in at least 3 in a row in the very early 1900's. That would leave the Reds.
  5. 2009 - Evan Anundsen (BC) 2008 - David Welch (Huntsville) 2007 - Manny Parra (Nashville) 2007 - Corey Thurman, David Johnson, Luis Pena (Huntsville) 2006 - Carlos Villanueva, Mike Meyers, Alec Zumwalt (Nashville) 2005 - Simon Beresford, Richard Breshears, David Welch, & Wilfredo Laureano (Helena) Those are the recent ones I can remember.
  6. The husband strangled her at a drive-in theater. Nobody noticed because they were in their car. ??
  7. Was his brake line cut? Was the card one of those "buy 'X' number of (whatever) and get one free" cards?
  8. Key card? Was the man a resident of the town he was found dead in?
  9. Was the card a membership card of some sort?
  10. Was the card an ID card? Was the map being used to find the way to an address on the card?
  11. Was the man in the military? Was the man a prisoner of war in the first event? Was the 'loved one' a fellow soldier?
  12. Hmm. 1. So, there are two separate events that led to the guy killing himself? (The unknown traumatic event and eating at the restaurant). 2. During the first event, did he somehow eat human meat, thinking it was what he later ate at the restaurant? 3. Was eating human meat essential for the man to survive the first event? 4. Would the type of food give any clues as to what happened in the first event? a. Does the food come from the ocean? b. Would the food be found only in a specific country? 5. Did he order the food at the restaurant to confirm or deny a suspicion? 6. Is the 'loved one' a coworker?
  13. Does cannibalism have anything to do with this? Does the man feel guilty about anything? How's this for far-fetched.... Man and loved one get stranded on a deserted island. There is a lack of food, so they must draw straws to see which loved one gets to eat the other. The man's loved one draws the shortest straw. He kills her and boils her up for dinner. A few hours later he finds some sort of large fish stranded on the beach that could have easily fed both him and the loved one. Several years after being rescued, man goes into the restaurant, sees the same large fish on the menu, orders it, eats a bite. The fish is tasty and after just 1 bite he realizes how perfect it would be for two people stranded on a deserted island. The regret becomes too much so he offs himself.
  14. Did he think that he had this food before? Did he previously have somebody close to him disappear? Guy goes on vacation with a loved one. Loved one is abducted. Guy goes into a restaurant at this place, orders something on the menu that he has never had before. Eats his entire meal at this restaurant. Comes home without the loved one who remains missing. Sees a news report that the restaurant he went to on vacation served human meat and notices that the cook at this restaurant was the abductor. Goes into the current restaurant in question, and orders the same thing that he had on vacation. This time the food tastes different. Gets the proof he needs that it was his loved one he ate previously. Kills himself.
  15. Was the 'food' he ate human? My guess is that the guy went into a exotic restaurant. Ordered something on the menu, not knowing what it really was, only to somehow find out it was human meat he was eating. After realizing what it was he was traumatized, so he killed himself. Better yet, maybe it was a loved one he was eating.
  16. In addition, Eric Fryer makes an appearance under the 'Men Among Boys' category.
  17. I graduated this past December from Whitewater at the age of 28. Sure I was probably the oldest person in all of my classes, but I thought that was a good thing. I could just concentrate on my classes without any of the distractions that doomed me when I was 18-21. The only bad part was working on group projects...I got stuck doing everything. Luckily I had all my core classes out of the way so I only had to take classes that applied to my major. My first go round of college was a complete disaster, barely sustaining a 2.0 GPA. Took 4 years off, figured out what I really wanted to do, and my last 3 semesters were the complete opposite. I doubt anybody cares about how old you are unless you plan on hanging around the dorms looking to party.
  18. Lou Palmisano DHing for Arizona this evening.
  19. I turned down some nice seats for the Cubs game today. Through the first 8 innings I was happy I didn't go. Now I'm regretting it. Not looking good now though...so maybe I really am glad I didn't go. I'm confused. Go Giants!
  20. I got Bryson's, but I made sure to jack up the price on Anundsen's http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif. LaPorta's went for $270.58.
  21. Congratulations to Brevard County on advancing to the championship round. After the walkoff win last night, you sort of got the feeling that today would be a good day. Contributions from everybody on offense and a great job by Brae Wright...solid win!
  22. Nice pro debut there for Matt. First swing of the bat, first home run.
  23. Arrrggh. I was going to guess Dickie Peterson (of Blue Cheer), but the pictures did not match up...should have looked at the other members.
  24. Not sure if this belongs in the draft forum, but Steve Wendt just mentioned that 18th round pick, LHP Bobby Bramhall is in uniform for Helena.
  25. Didn't Enrique Cruz have something like a 30 game hit streak back in the High Desert days? I remember he and Glenn Woolard both had amazing streaks (Woolard with the scoreless inning streak) around the same time.
