  1. Pitching not too bad in Helena either...Seidel, Baron, and Tyson combine on a one-hitter.
  2. For anyone wondering, since the milb box score is not updating at all, Helena was leading 5-1 in the 4th last I heard. Wendt said Seidel is pitching very well.
  3. Scoreboard update: West Tenn 4 Tennessee 1 going to the bottom of the 7th
  4. First blown save of the year for Salas came at a bad time. 2-2 now, Birmingham has the bases loaded with 1 out. Edit: Phew! Great job by David Johnson getting out of the 1-out, bases loaded jam. First got a grounder to 3B with Heether getting the force out at home and then struck the next batter out to end the inning. To the bottom of the 9th they go, tied 2-2!
  5. The Iowa Cubs are currently getting the snot beat out of them by New Orleans, so the Sounds should be just 1.5 games back in the standings after tonight. Jake Gautreau is 6 for 6 with 4 doubles, a homer, 5 runs scored, and 8 rbis for the Zephyrs and will probably get one more at-bat.
  6. While that's true, the Sounds' roster still stands at just 23 men since they have not yet filled the spot vacated by the Zumwalt trade. Nestor Corredor was lifted for J.R. Hopf in the sixth inning in the Manatees' nightcap for whatever that's worth. If Palmisano goes to AAA, perhaps Corredor fills the catching void left at AA, leaving Salome and Hopf as the two remaining catchers at high-A.
  7. With Yo's 11 strikeouts today, I believe that he now leads all of minor league baseball in k's with 66. Before today's action, I believe Will Inman was tied for the overall lead with 58 k's (along with Gio Gonzalez, Brett Anderson, and Chris Cody).
  8. Power score 3 in the 17th. Caufield solo HR, Chapman RBI triple, and Green RBI double.
  9. Power and Lexington still 5-5 just starting the 13th. West Virginia got a little help from the Legends to send this into extra innings. West Virginia Top 9th * Pitcher Change: Santo Luis replaces Victor Garate. * Chuck Caufield grounds out, third baseman Christopher Johnson to first baseman Eric Taylor. * Andrew Lefave hit by pitch. * Offensive Substitution: Pinch runner Anderson De La Rosa replaces Andrew Lefave. * With Martin Maldonado batting, Anderson De La Rosa steals (2) 2nd base, Anderson De La Rosa scores. Throwing error by catcher Ralph Henriquez. Throwing error by center fielder Cesar A Quintero. * Martin Maldonado pops out to shortstop Jhon Florentino. * Stephen Chapman strikes out swinging.
  10. Unfortunately Helena was not represented very well. www.baseballamerica.com/t...62502.html Cole Gillespie ranked too low (in my opinion) at #11 and Steve Chapman at #18 was the only other Brewers player making the list. As for the chat...Bryan Smith compares Cole Gillespie to Matt Murton and says Gillespie is the "most likely Major Leaguer on the list". He says Errecart didn't make the list because of his lack of athleticism and because he doesn't really fit at any position, but also notes that his power is a plus tool and that he was one of the best hitters in the league this year. (??? I don't see how his defense at first base was so bad that it completely outweighs what he did offensively). He also talked about where Steve Chapman fits in with the other Brewers outfield prospects at the lower levels (currently 'behind in the foot race'). www.baseballamerica.com/o...62503.html
  11. Gillespie's was already out of my range by the second day when jackalope and someone else were pushing the price towards $100. Thanks a heap http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif . That was me. what did it go for any way? It ended up going for $114.
  12. I got outbid with under a minute left to go on Cole Gillespie's. Boooooo! I tried to quick make a last second bid, but I just missed. I made a last ditch effort just to get something so I made a bid on JT King, but lost that one too. I guess it's not all that bad considering I probably would've had to borrow money to pay for one. Hopefully I can get one next year.
  13. Here's the correct link to the Power game box. Great job by Parillo, Welch, and Ryan. Welch's ERA is down to 2.45 now. Only run scored by Lexington was on Gamel's 5th inning error, but Mat did hit his 17th HR earlier in the game. www.minorleaguebaseball.c...x&did=milb

  15. Arizona is actually playing a double-header today, making up for a game rained out vs. the Cubs a few weeks ago. Periard is starting game 2. 1-0 Cubs in the 3rd. www.minorleaguebaseball.c...k_cubrok_2
  16. Good news seeing Mark Rogers name in the boxscores again. He was Arizona's starter this evening.
  17. Julian Cordero is making his Brewers system debut tonight as the starter for West Virginia.
  18. Mat Gamel is having himself some sort of game tonight! Already 7 RBIs and just a homer short of the cycle after just 4 innings. Salome, Cain, Ford, and just about every other Power starter hitting the ball well tonight. 6 runs in the 1st and now 10 runs in the 4th.
  19. Another solid outing for Will Inman. I believe that he has now thrown 22 consecutive scoreless innings.
  20. Congrats to Carlos Villanueva, Mike Meyers, and Alec Zumwalt combining on the no-hitter for the Sounds tonight!
  21. Cole Gillespie just tied the Pioneer League record with his 6th hit of the night. He's reached base 7 times in this game.
  22. Jeremy Jeffress is your Arizona starter today. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif
  23. Ned Yost hits the walkoff grand slam for the Power.
