  2. Rogers last 3 starts: 20 2/3 innings, 5 hits, 1 earned run, 8 walks, 29 strikeouts.
  3. 06/12/06 - Tropical Storm Alberto continued to damper Florida State League spirits by raining out Tuesday's doubleheader between the Vero Beach Dodgers and Brevard County Manatees. The games will not be made up as the two teams do not play each other again in the 1st Half.
  4. According to baseballamerica, the 6th round pick was dismissed from Mississippi's baseball program after violating team rules then missed most of 2005 because of a broken hand suffered from punching a teammate.
  5. Yovani Gallardo, Josh Wahpepah, Ryan Braun, Hernan Iribarren, Steve Sollmann, and Brendan Katin were all selected as representatives for the Florida State League East Division all-star team. www.minorleaguebaseball.c...mc=_fsl_06
  6. Yovani Gallardo is #3 and Dana Eveland is #6 on Baseball America's Prospect Hot Sheet this week. www.baseballamerica.com/t...61243.html
  7. Game will be suspended if the Sounds don't score in this inning. Edit: Unbelievable! 6 K's for Nelson. This time with runners on 2nd and 1st. To be continued tomorrow. Maybe Rivera will get another chance to extend his hitting streak. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Hey! The fireworks are still on...good for them! "15 cards still in the parking lot". Either they have a few very dedicated baseball fans or a few very dedicated firework fans. And to the 18th inning they go. Mike Rivera has caught every inning of this game. Edit: Rivera has also been hit by 2 pitches and was just nailed in the foot with a foul ball but is still in there. I'm going to guess that he gets tomorrow off.
  9. Wiki Gonzalez certainly has done his part to slow this game down. That was about his 300th visit to the mound since he came into the game. He's the "human rain delay" as Chuck put it earlier.
  10. Phew. Mitch Stetter nearly got nailed by the bat. That would've been unfortunate. Corey Hart is coming up to bat in the bottom of the inning. Hopefully he can redeem himself.
  11. Hopefully Mike Meyers can go a few innings tomorrow. Evert is the only reliever not to throw yet tonight. The bench has been exhausted as well, so I think Stetter will have to finish this thing out. Edit: Top of the 17th and Brett Evert is now in to pitch. The bench and the bullpen are now both exhausted. The Sounds were not planning on calling anybody up from Huntsville until Monday, so they might need to make an emergency call to get some help.
  12. Rain is what they say, but I'm suspicious. It's too bad, when the game was called, the bases were loaded and the 10th batter of the inning was coming up to bat.
  13. West Virginia just set the Sally League record for Home Runs in a game. Mike Bell just hit a 3-run jack; the 7th HR for the Power. 16-2 in the 5th.
  14. Tune in to the Power game for some entertainment. 12 runs on 12 hits so far for the Power. Still in the first inning. 6 home runs in the inning.
  15. So now we know what is going on with Alcides Escobar, but what is up with Charlie Fermaint? He must be day-to-day. Perhaps I just need to read those link reports more carefully from now on.
  16. Wow. West Virginia scores 5 runs in the bottom of the 9th for the 7-6 victory. Darren Ford with the GWRBI single.
  17. Greg Sain hit his 2nd grand slam of the season earlier in the game. The Stars currently lead 8-2 going to the 8th inning.
  18. Here's a quick and informal rundown of today's action. I'm sure more details will be coming later. Final: Nashville 9 Omaha 4 Nashville Box Score: Mike Rivera, Brent Abernathy, and Enrique Cruz each with a home run in this game. Gwynn and Hart reached base three times. Sounds defense definitely lacking today with 5 miscues. Jared Fernandez gets the W with 5 1/3 innings of relief work, allowing just 2 unearned runs. www.minorleaguebaseball.c...a_nasaaa_1 Nashville Game Log: www.minorleaguebaseball.c...a_nasaaa_1 Huntsville vs. Mobile: Rained out. Final: Brevard County 9 Jupiter 4 Brevard County Box Score: Freddy Parejo a homer shy of the cycle. Braun, Iribarren, Fermaint, Ezi, and Corredor each with 2 hits. Carlos De La Cruz with a 2-run home run. Mike Jones threw 2 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs. Ben Stanczyk picks up the W with 2 1/3 scoreless innings. www.minorleaguebaseball.c...a_jupafa_1 Brevard County G www.minorleaguebaseball.c...a_jupafa_1 West Virginia @ Hagerstown: Suspended due to rain after 3 1/2 innings. The game was scoreless. Thanks DKM4Boston. I cleaned up some of the coding to make it look pretty like Mass Haas' efforts http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .
  19. Edit: Nevermind....Mass already asked about Hinton.
  20. Neither Stetter nor Adams can retire a batter, 5 runs score, and suddenly Oklahoma is up 7-3.
  21. Nothing special f/ the baby Brewers today as they lost 1-7 to the Cubs. Out-hit 12 to 5. Anderson De La Rosa's rbi double looks like the only highlight on offense...pitching was bad in the late innings (Labasta & Villar), giving up 6 of the 7 runs in the final three. Matt Kretzschmar (sp?) with 2 scoreless innings...
  22. Some fun numbers from Thursday from the Sounds, Stars, Power, and H.Brewers combined (not counting Arizona, since nothing is available yet.) Hits: 66 or 16.5/game Runs: 51 or 12.75/game Doubles: 16 Players w/ multi-hit games: 21 Players w/ 3+ hit games: 9 I'll be very disappointed if the baby Brews didn't put up at least 9 runs...
  23. Congrats to Ken Holmberg on his first professional HR.
  24. His father, Dennis Holmberg, played for the Brewers from 1970-1975 according to his profile.
  25. I'll put this here for now.... Round 20: LHP David Welch, Texarkana CC. Tall Australian lefty.
