No way they can pinch-hit for Sheets. He's just dominating. Take our chances with the offense - sure seems like it's assured that Sheets will shut them down the rest of the day. Only 68 pitches! If we don't score, then it's on the offense. Have to let Sheets keep pitching.

I guess anything is possible, but with our offense and Cards bullpen, it would be surprising if we even reached base the last three innings. (Not that they need to go to the bullpen with the way Suppan is dominating our hitters.) This blows.

Double by Eckstein, sacrificed to third, suicide squeeze bunt home for the run. Then NOTHING from Sheets since.

I'm not sure we should get all excited about a possible Krynzel call-up (assuming Clark is actually hurt seriously, which there has been no indication of). Krynzel is batting .252 at AAA right now with only .736 OPS. Not sure that's an upgrade if you translate to MLB stats!

Well, it just keeps getting better.... 6 IP, ONE hit, 0 B, 3 K, 56 pitches (45 strikes) Bottom of the sixth and the game's only 1 hour and 10 minutes old.

Here's something to cheer everyone up, though: Cincinnati 3 Chicago Cubs 1 in the 4th. Gotta love seeing the Cubs lose again!!!! Hee hee.

Sheets gave up ONE hit! No way can you pin this on him. ONE HIT. 49 pitches (39 strikes), ONE HIT, ZERO WALKS, 3 K's through 5 IP. You're right, don't complain about Sheets. I don't care what inning he gives up the 1 run in if he always pitches like this!! Geez, what are you looking for, perfect game every time out? If you're going to complain about Sheets, maybe we should be angry at Yost for not playing the infield in with a runner on 3rd in the top of the 1st! If the offense is this bad, we probably should!!

What a gem being wasted. 5 IP, 49 pitches (39 strikes), 1 hit, 0 B, 3 K. If we don't win this for Sheets, I wouldn't blame him at all for "going off" on the team.

Wonderful. This game should be over by 3pm. Maybe I should try to run out and get a late 18 in. Better than listening to this game! Offense is pretty AWOL at the moment. At least Ben's pitching great, but it would be a shame to waste it again.....

Well, how many batters until LaRussa orders a Brewer to be hit? Or maybe he'll wait and order Clark hit. LaRussa's a jerk. Not sure why everyone always fawns all over the guy.

16 pitches (13 strikes) through 2 innings. Too bad we let Eckstein score. Maybe LaRussa knew what he was doing pushing that run across. Sure would appear that Ben has his good stuff so far today!! That was one quick 1/2 inning!
