  1. Who will be playing first base for the Brewers on opening day 2014? I fear the answer is "Someone who has no business playing first base for the Brewers on opening day in 2014".
  2. After thinking about it, I wouldn't be terribly upset if we did trade Braun. I also think we may be severely overestimating what we could get for him simply because I believe (and I very well could be wrong) that he is basically 1 PED "strike" away from being banned for life now isn't he? Sure he can look Melvin in the eyes and swear up and down it will never happen again, but after his vehement denials that turned out to be untrue, would you or any other GM believe him?
  3. The only person this season that John Axford has fooled is Roenicke.
  4. Due to a lot of various reasons, I almost never get to listen to the WTMJ feed of the games. I am able to today and I maybe it's just me, but this Joe Block guy, he's killing me. That HR by Tulo, I had no idea if he had hit a grounder to left center, a blooper, a line drive or a towering 500 foot bomb. He just sounds so uninterested in the game. Please someone tell me I am wrong and he gets better. Please.

  6. I am not as angry about this as some people, our pitchers haven't exactly been setting the world on fire during spring training and you only have a limited window to win when it comes to Braun, Weeks, Ramirez, Hart, etc. I'm not overly thrilled about it though either, especially not at 3 years/33 million. Though, truth be told, I think a lot of us saw this coming. :| Here's to hoping it works out better than Suppan/Wolf, etc.
  7. Looks like the deal is officially off now.
  8. I hate the Cardinals, I don't just dislike them, I actively hate them. That being said, deep down we all saw this outcome coming. Between the Cardinals apparent deal with the devil, and the Nationals idiotic "We don't need our best player to win the championship" decision, a Cardinals victory was almost a foregone conclusion. Now please excuse me while I go vomit.
  9. I dislike the Cardinals as much as anyone, but the Nationals are getting exactly what they deserve right now. I hated the idea of sitting Strasburg and if it bites them in the butt, so be it. Though I wish St. Louis didn't benefit from it...
  10. I feel bad for Pittsburgh fans, not only are the Pirates about to lock up their 500th consecutive non-winning season, but they might get no-hit while doing it. Ouch.
  11. Is there anyone who we can have start when it's Marcum's turn again? Especially if we are really going to make any kind of run at a wild card spot, I just don't want to see him out there. I am sure he is a wonderful person, but I have absolutely no faith in him to give us a quality start in crunch time.
  12. It was really nice to be watching MLB Network and hear them spend a good 5 minutes on how the Brewers are relevant again and "right back in it". Granted, I still think it is a loooooooongshot we make it really close, but considering how dire things looked a month ago, I'm happy to be caring about the Brewers right now. (Especially with football season starting) They mentioned we have 27 blown saves. I know the bullpen was awful, but that number is astounding. Just convert a third of those and we're sitting pretty. Ugh, I'm gonna make myself sick.
  13. Looking at how Estrada pitched, and how Axford pitched, and then seeing the "W" by Axford makes me cry a little on the inside.
  14. No wonder he was hurt so much this year, he was quite the workhorse in 2011 for us.
  15. Is there some reason we don't just release K-Rod? He clearly has lost whatever talent he once had, and running him out there time after time has to be demorlaizing to the rest of the team, doesn't it? Send a message and just cut the guy, sheesh.
  16. On a side note, I am completely fine if that was the last time I see Marcum in a Brewer jersey. I am sure he's a good guy, and he has talent, but you just can't depend on that guy. Now, how about a dozen insurance runs...
  17. The bullpen looked good...interesting experiment.
  18. "But it worked out well that a hurricane came through..." That may be the first time in human history someone has written those words, lol.
  19. There must be something in the water in LA. Hanley shows up and looks like a brand new man, and Gonzalez rips a 3 run homer in his first at bat. I expect a no-hitter from Beckett on Monday.
  20. If our loss helps the Pirates make the playoffs, I actually don't mind too much. Odd to see a game without a single earned run in it.
  21. I would assume Gallardo, Fiers and Rogers are getting 3 of the 5 spots. Maybe Peralta for a 4th. I'd probably stick Estrada and Thornburg in the bullpen, meaning Doug Melvin would have to go out and get a 5th. Maybe Marcum, though it wouldn't be my first choice. I listen to sports talk here in Arizona, and they seem to want to get rid of Joe Saunders in the worst way, and he seems to me to be someone Melvin would target, and I'd be okay with that. He's not Cy Young, but he's an upgrade over Wolf...and being a lefty helps.
