A 4.56 era isn't what I would call having success. Lately marco has been what most would call terrible. The book seems to be out on marco. Don't swing at the changeup, wait for the meatball, and drive it.
I was listening to the mets broadcast and they decided to talk about how "the brewers are an AL team that hits a lot but doesn't have a good defense or pitching".... do they still think jaha is on the team and mercedes is our best pitcher?
you'd think if the word got out there how much fun it was to touch your head because of the reaction you gave you would calm down. Apparently beltre doesn't play that game. Wow this is funny
September and October. Because 92 pitches is so taxing for a large, strong guy like peralta? I don't agree with the use of so many bullpen arms when peralta was already pitching well
but seriously, nelson has struggled in the minors. He has recovered from it before. It's not like he's had a 0.00 era his whole minor league career. Word is he has really learned to command the changeup this year and it has completed his development. I'm not a betting man but I would think betting on nelson to be a better pitcher this year would be a great bet.
I could see some scenario where the braves acquire gallardo for a couple prospects and we spin them plus a few of ours for price. He isn't exactly hot right now and the right combination of young bats/ pitchers might at least turn their heads
Yes, I realize that Garza's era is higher. But Garza and Gallardo have track records for success. Now as I have stated I'd like to replace Gallardo ASAP but Estrada has only had minor success in parts of a few seasons. He's never pitched a full year and it might be the league has just figured him out. We all seem to agree that Nelson is ready and most likely will pitch well as soon as he steps into a big league role. So how long do we let estrada keep hiking his era up while leading the league in home runs allowed?
Maybe it's the logic of "hey he's seeing the ball well right now... let's sit him and see if he handles the adversity of losing his stroke again" Like roenicke's comments about wang in spring training
