Hey guys, I know I've been a little overly negative about Rickie Weeks, and I'm going to try and cut down on it. I don't want to ruin anybody's enjoyment of the game. I've been having a really rough time with some medical issues, and when I'm not feeling well, I get somewhat cranky. So, I want to apologize to everybody. Feel free to slap me if I go down that path again. -
Ok cool, thanks Polish Falcons. This is my first season with MLB.tv, still getting used to it.
-
Not sure I completely follow but I was watching it on MLBTV earlier I haven't turned it on tonight. I'd assumed this was one of the nationally televised games that would black it out on MLB.tv.

Seeing eye hit.
-
I'm not picky, Taylor. Scratch and claw, get any run you can.
-
Wow, Matt Moore is on a roll for the Rays. I just got a really nice Beckett graded 2011 Bowman Chrome auto card of his. He's my pick for the AL Cy Young. That's a scary pitching staff Tampa has.
-
Kinda fun listening to Vin Scully. I guess this would be a blacked out game per MLB.tv as it's on MLB Network. I'll take two runs, would have liked more. Keep their offense down, Big Willy.

Come on Martin, nut one.
-
Ok, thanks pebadger.
-
Surprised he didn't go home.
-
Whoa, just turned on the game. LOL, that's a creative lineup there, Ron. Is Jean ok? Just getting a night off I hope.
-
Yuni strikes again!
-
That's the first player I thought of. If Trout's not getting extended after the year he had, then Segura won't. And we still have a lot of baseball before Jean's even finished with his true rookie season (though he doesn't technically qualify as a rook).
-
Just out of curiosity, what's the rationale behind having Braun batting second? I've always thought he was the perfect #3 hitter, and typically that's where a team's best hitter will sit in the lineup.
-
Ryan's really off. I don't know what's wrong with him. Not seeing the ball really well yet.
-
He hit .300 at A+ Brevard County, and .293 at AA Huntsville. He's never going to be a big power hitter, but I'll take a guy hitting .290 with little power over a guy with all the power in the world hitting .165.

/rally cap on.
-
Lalli, lean in. See if you can get plunked.

I don't care how much money he's making. If he's not performing at the level of even a passable Major Leaguer, he shouldn't be on the field. And right now, he's an automatic out at the plate, and an error waiting to happen in the field. How many balls have been hit to him, only to see the ball magically stick in his glove? He spent two weeks in the cleanup position, and for the year he has 3 RBI. He's awful at everything right now. Salary should never be a concern, especially when there's a guy at AAA that's hitting .400. If you at least bring him up, maybe it lights a fire onder Rickie Weeks' butt. If not, let the kid have a shot. He's hit at every level of baseball, and he can't be any worse than Rickie Weeks. Who knows, he might be better. He'll certainly be much better at the fundamentals.
-
We should have won this game. Damn. Calling a stupid bunt, pitching around Punto, and now this. Just not our night.

http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/355/infield.png Our infield of the future, Segura and Gennett. Can't we form Voltron, and get these two together now? Please?
-
It might be a small sample, but thus far, Scooter Gennett is hitting .417 at AAA Nashville. 25 for 60, .928 OPS. Can't we at least bring the kid up, because Weeks is useless at the plate right now, and awful in the field.
-
At what point does he sit? 4 for his last 40. He is batting .100 his last eleven games. Enough is enough.
-
"And now Rickie Weeks, who has been waiting a long time for a big hit." Not as long as we have, Brian.
