  1. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9146327/jonah-keri-ranks-mlb-teams I'm not sure how much of an article I can quote, so in the interest of not incurring any possible nasty grams from the site in question, I'll just leave the link. Scroll down to the Brewer discussion, where Keri has us ranked 27th out of the 30 teams. He hits it out of the park. The injuries we have sustained are making it worse, but the construction of this team's roster is ultimately to blame for our horrid start. Carrying 13 pitchers is absurd.
  2. Ron Roenicke and Doug Melvin headed to Miller Park to see which one can screw up the Brewer franchise more.
  3. I am trying to remain positive. I am trying to remain positive. I am trying to remain positive.
  4. Just once I'd like to see this team start out hot. Is that too much to ask??
  5. The game will be blacked out while it's in progress. After the game is done, you can watch it. I did that last night with the Rangers/Astros game. I live outside of Dallas, and those are the two teams in my market.
  6. I just got this in today: http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/8567/08chromelschaferoranger.png Really high on Logan, and hope to see him getting some playing time.
  7. With the top of our order coming up, 3 runs is still doable. Yet Roenicke seemingly just let it ride, and it could have been much worse. Brignac singled to right Cuddyer homered to left Herrera flied out to right Fowler homered to right Cargo lined out to left Tulo singled to deep right center Rosario singled to left Roenicke didn't get off his butt until after another home run and two singles were surrendered by Axford. If he pulls Axford after the first home run, it's a 3 run game. My problem is that he let Axford keep throwing after giving up a game tying home run in game 1, and a two run bomb in this game. He should have been out then. Maybe the Rockies still score another run, but it's clear that Ax doesn't have it, and he shouldn't be out there floundering. The Rockies have an awful bullpen. Three runs is possible. Four is harder.
  8. Our 2, 3 and 4 hitters are 14 for 32 with 2 HR and 8 RBI in 3 games, and we're about to fall to 1-2.
  9. At this point, the game's over. Why make a move now? Let Axford flounder.
  10. "Brewers desperately need Axford to return to form". Not going to happen. I could hit one off Axford now. Roenicke just standing there in a trance.
  11. So RR took a winnable game and flushed it right down the toilet.
  12. Are you kidding me? Why is this clown still in? Somebody check to see if the Old Man is awake in the dugout. Houston we have a problem.
  13. Glad the Ax man cut his hair, it's making all the difference.
  14. Ax stop worrying about the guy at first, and focus on getting Cuddyer out. Never mind, spoke too late.
  15. Can we get some of the plate discipline Braun's working on to rub off on Go Go, please???
  16. Grr, was all excited that Schafer was coming up, and once again RR shines me. Screw it. Just got this in. I'm going to share it anyway. http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/8567/08chromelschaferoranger.png
  17. And that OPS + is inflated by his stats at Coors Field. His tOPS+ at Coors Field is 119 His tOPS+ away from Coors Field is 80 He has 216 HR and 816 RBI at home. He has 138 HR and 530 RBI away from Coors. No matter how you cut it, his numbers are grossly inflated by his home stadium. Compare his numbers to Ryan Braun, who plays his home games in a very hitter friendly Miller Park Braun at home: .309 AVG, 109 HR, 329 RBI, .588 SLG, .965 OPS. tOPS+ 104 Away: .318 AVG, 94 HR, 317 RBI, .550 SLG, .922 OPS. tOPS+ 96 His splits are pretty close. +8 points tOPS+ at home. Helton's tOPS+ split is +39 at home. Away from home, Helton's not even a .300 hitter. His numbers are purely a product of where he hits.
  18. Weeks is hitting. A Ram is hitting early in the season. If our pitching is even decent, we'll be ok.
