  1. Writers everywhere are quick to point out that Ryan Braun won't win the MVP because of the PED association, even though he won his appeal (he got off on a technicality!). Ok then, so why are we hearing nothing about how Posey benefited from having Melky Cabrera, who WAS suspended by MLB for PED, batting right in front of him in the lineup? How many extra RBI did Posey get having steroid boy in front of him? How many extra wins did the Giants get because of him? Where are these stories?
  2. I think that even within the time he's been up in Milwaukee, he's taken a big step forward. He's much more patient at the plate, and the results are starting to show. Segura has more power than anybody realizes. His ceiling is quite high. I think he's a guy that could be a .290-.300 hitter with 15-20 HR a season, and 40-50 stolen bases. If he can keep working on the strikeouts, and up his walk rate a bit more, the sky's the limit. Defensively he's pretty good. Not in the same league as Escobar, but he's got a quick release, and pretty good range. I am very excited about Jean's future.
  3. Only one player in Major League history has hit 40 HR, stolen 30 bases, and lead the league in RBI. And that was Hank Aaron in 1963. Braun has 40 HR, 27 SB and is tied for the NL lead with 104 RBI. Can he do it? I Hope he can.
  4. I had a good laugh on ESPN earlier today. Braun wouldn't hit as many home runs at AT&T Park according to some mouth breather Giants fan. When I pointed out that in 66 at bats at AT&T Park, Ryan Braun has a .364 AVG with 8 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 14 RBI, and a 1.227 OPS, he shut up. One home run every 11 at bats. Apparently, Braun doesn't have the same difficulty hitting the ball out of park in San Fran that Posey has.
  5. Segura is starting to show how special a player he's going to be.
  6. Yo and Wily are saying "we don't need no stinking Greinke"! And Brauny might get 30-30 yet. Hell, he might get it tonight at this rate.
  7. The NL MVP's comments today after the game: I don't think this is Brauny talking up a teammate. I am really starting to believe in Wily. It's eerie watching him on the mound. He's got the same kind of body type and game that CC Sabathia has. Not saying he's going to be as good, but 1 one allowed in his last 14 innings pitched....this kid is going to be good. He could be really good.
  8. Parra has a lifetime 5.06 ERA. Why the heck are we still sending this guy out there?
  9. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! Hello, win column! 8 wins in 9 games against the Braves, Pirates and Cards!!!!
  10. Rock solid start by Yo, and some good run support. This would give him 15 wins on the season.
  11. Ryan Braun's home run lead is evaporating. Mike Stanton up to 34 now, Jay Bruce up to 33.
  12. Ummm that was all on Lucroy there. If he blocks that third strike the runner doesn't advance. Again that is all on Lucroy there. Loe could have not thrown the pitch in the dirt. I couldn't see the game, but while a catcher could and should block many in the dirt, the pitcher shouldn't be bouncing it to begin with.
  13. Kameron Loe NEVER NEEDS TO PITCH FOR THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS AGAIN. Mental midget. Useless.
  14. Get him out of there, Roenicke. He is serving up batting practice. This game is too important to let Marcum screw up!!!!
  15. Fiers is not a fast baller like Stephen Strasburg, so while I'm watching his innings pitched, I'd be slightly more likely to give Fiers a couple more starts than Strasburg. Keep him under 100 pitches like they did tonight, and I think he's going to be ok for a couple more starts.
  16. Before that road trip, we have one more against the Cards, then 6 games at home. Don't underestimate the power of confidence. This team won 96 last year, and I think they're starting to believe they can get back in it. We've won 15 of our last 19, and it all started with the 3 game sweep of the Cubbies. You've got to believe. I do. I've never given up hope. A true fan doesn't stop believing until they're mathematically eliminated. As long as you've got life left, you fight like hell. And the Brewers are doing just that.
  17. Wolf was released on August 22nd. We won that afternoon. The Brewers are 13-4 since Wolf was released.
