  1. Here we go, bringing up the "who was the NL MVP" talk again? The DBack station just put up a poll, and they're talking about how Kemp was clearly the MVP. Kemp had 6 more HR, 12 more RBI, a couple more runs, and 7 more SB. He also played 10 more games, and his team finished barely above .500. Braun had a higher average, a higher OPS, the same OBP, more extra base hits, better isolated power, better AVG with RISP, a better stolen base percentage, a better fielding percentage, and Kemp struck out 67 more times. Oh ya, and he did that during a pennant race. Braun was clearly the better player. Kemp's team was out of the race two months into the season. He swung for the fences the second half of the season trying to pad his stats, and struck out 159 times in doing so.
  2. Nori is seeing the ball really well! Oh stuff it, D-bag fans. I want to see Braun crush one.
  3. I'm just going by what the D Back announcers are saying (I'm getting the Arizona broadcast on MLB as I live in Dallas, and Houston is playing on FOX right now). They are saying the pitch was clearly intentional. Now, I don't agree... They are also saying this is over, as they hit two Brewers last night. I would be surprised if they go after Braun here.
  4. Pulling him before the McDonald homer wouldn't have made a lot of sense, given how he got out of the first. RR didn't do any damage. Sure he did. Greinke gave up three more runs when he clearly didn't have it tonight. He was at 70 pitches when he was pulled. He was obviously laboring, and not hitting his spots. He needed to come out.
  5. REALLY? Is NOW the best time for a retaliation pitch? LOL, down 7-5, let's load the bases! Great idea!
  6. Zack's season ERA jumped from a 2.70 to a 3.66. Our manager has no bleeping clue when to pull a pitcher. Absolutely none.
  7. Greinke has given up seven runs in two and a third. Why is he still in there? Somebody wake Roenicke up before this game is out of reach.
  8. Loving Lucroy right now. Guy's just on fire! Offense has bailed out a shaky start by Zack.
  9. I did a reinstall of XP on my laptop, and Firefox and Chrome are brand spanking new installs. IE is v 8.0. Nothing that would prevent me from logging in. I have no issues on other sites as of yet. No blockers running, no strange privacy settings, no firewall restrictions, etc. I'm using Chrome right now.
  10. Aoki looked much quicker than I expected when he ran that infield single out today. I like him. I really like him. He's getting comfortable in the majors, and the guy can flat out hit. He's only 30, and his game will translate well as he ages. He brings something the Brewers desperately need: small ball. The Crew needs guys that can hit, and get on base, and aren't trying to hit it out of the park all the time. Aoki brings that.
  11. I caught a Cubs game-can't remember if it was late preseason or regular season, but the guys on WGN were talking about Castro's power. They think he's got some real upside. We shall see. All I know is that I'm buying Castro's Bowman Chrome auto rookie.
  12. He's certainly strong enough to hit that many, TooLiveBrew. One thing he doesn't have (right now at least) is a lot of loft in his swings. The times I've seen him, he's been a line drive hitter. That can change, however, and often does once hitters start to move into their mid 20's. If it does, the winds at Wrigley will bump up his home run totals substantially. The guy that I think is going to absolutely rake at Wrigley, however, is Anthony Rizzo. 6'3" 220 lbs, and he can crush the ball. Trading him from the Padres and the Cavernous Petco Field to Chicago and Wrigley is going to have a serious impact on his power numbers when he gets called up. I think LaHair stays at first, and Rizzo ends up in left field once the Cubs can dump Soriano.
  13. I think he is going to be a great overall player. He's already a .300 + hitter at 22. Most people his age are still in the minors. The subtle nuances of the game, taking pitches and walks, will come with time. He's young and a little impatient right now, but you can learn to be patient. You can either hit, or you can't, and this kid can. I think he'll improve somewhat at short, also. I also think he'll end up hitting for more power than people think (not so much home runs, but extra base hits. 10-15 HR is his ceiling, imo). I've watched the Cubs a few times this year, and he hits the ball pretty hard. The Cub offense is struggling right now, but when they bring Anthony Rizzo and Brett Jackson up, that will start to change. LaHair, Barney, Castro, Rizzo and Jackson will score some runs.
  14. A starting staff of with Greinke, Gallardo, Peralta, Thornburg, Jungman and Bradley to choose from.....wow. I wouldn't want to be the other team.
  15. I like this! Baseball games should be a place you can take your family, have a fun night, and return home safely. If you want to root for the wrong team, expect to get some friendly razzing, nothing more. When idiots get crazy, it ruins it for everybody. I don't think they'll ever get rid of alcohol sales, but no reason why they can't stop selling it earlier in the game. Have a few brews...by the time the game is done, you're not drunk as a skunk, and a danger on the roads.
  16. Bingo, that's my feeling exactly. Yes, Hardy had a bad season. But he'd had really good success the couple years prior, and it's not a stretch to think that after giving him some time to get healthy, and back on track, that he'd have success again. He was still young. The you know what really hit the fan the moment that the Brewers ok'd a trade of Escobar after trading Hardy. You don't give up two starting shortstops. Now we have nothing.
  17. Our 1-3 hitters have 7 hits tonight, and we have 3 runs. Go figure.
  18. I go to log in, put my user name and password, and it forwards me to the forum, but doesn't show me logged in. I've tried this several times, same issue. No problems at all logging in on Chrome or IE8. Suggestions??
  19. A Ram's line .220/.291/.339. Just when exactly is his annual "slow start" going to end?
  20. The worst team in baseball is embarrassing us. Wow. /insert picture of little car filled with clowns /high pitched honk
