I agree. Why can't Roenicke figure that out? His average has dropped like a rock, and he's said why he's not hitting. I guess RRR was asleep. Go figure.

I'm encouraged by some of the things I'm seeing. Wily with a really strong start, Luc is mashing, Logan Schafer is playing great, and hitting the ball well. I'd sure like to see Ryan Braun get healthy though.

Looks like Luc's slump is officially over!!!!!! Wowie wow! This is 2012 Lucroy we're seeing.

I don't know how today's start against the Phillies will end, but I think today we are starting to see Wily Peralta put some things together. He's starting to figure it out, guys. His command today looks absolutely outstanding. The fastball is consistently hitting 97-98 mph with nice movement, and the slider is looking just nasty. I'd like to see him mix in the change up a little more often, but this is the pitcher I thought he could be. This is the pitcher that people raved about as he was moving through the farm system. I don't want to be premature, as it's just one start, but Wily is showing today that he has the makeup to be a true ace. He's making some of these Phillies hitters look just foolish. In some of his previous starts, I felt Wily was nibbling a little around the plate. Not today. He was going after the hitters. Looks like the final line is 7 IP, 8 hits, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K. 103 pitches, of which 65 were strikes. The defense let him down a few times, but overall, just an outstanding performance. A performance that gives me some real hope for his future. A big, enthusiastic round of applause for the big guy!

I am really liking what I'm seeing from Wily today guys. I'm actually excited. Regardless of what the final score is, I'm liking his command. I'd like to see him mix in the change up a bit more, but the fastball and slider are looking outstanding. Now we're really seeing why he was a top 100 prospect.

Wily hitting 98 on the gun. Pretty darned nice. The slider is starting to look really, really, really nasty. I think Wily's going to go on a run pretty soon.

Wow, Segura has 7 doubles, 6 triples and 8 home runs. I guess he likes to divide his extra base hits evenly. How about Logan Schafer!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!! Kid's starting to really hit the ball.

Same here, but I prospect the Brewers, too. Pick up some 2010 Bowman Sterling Domonic Brown autos if you haven't already. Those are about to take off. I also think the market for Julio Teheran is going to start rising. Ya, I think that Emerald Auto is going to be one of his most valuable cards. It's a 2010, as opposed to the 2011 Bowman Chrome. And with a print run of /25, I can't think of many more valuable cards of his. There's a gold /25 auto, and a black /1, but I've never seen either. -

Taylor won again on Thursday night to even his record at 5-5. I haven't watched the game yet (will likely do it tomorrow night), but it looks like he's getting some of his strikeout numbers back. In his last two starts, he has 13 K's in 12 IP. And in his win Thursday, he only walked 1. I am cautiously optimistic based on the numbers, but I want to see how he looked.

Hellweg's control has been absolutely horrible thus far. Entering the night he had like 38 K's and 37 walks. Tonight though, he struck out 7 and only walked 2. It's only one start, but if he can continue doing that, then he could have a future. He's got the raw stuff. Get that WHIP down, John, and we'll talk. Good start, now do it again.
