  1. Schroeder just said on postgame that he walked through clubhouse and talked to Lucroy who said he hasn't heard anything. He is still a Brewer.
  2. So this means Boston is probably still in it.
  3. I'm also hoping it is Cleveland. Just makes too much sense. I have to say it would be slightly disappointing not to get Frazier though. I'm not huge into the minor league scene but I'm having a hard time grasping how 1.5 years of Luc is not worth the 24th ranked prospect (per MLB.com), but Chapman and his 30 appearances is worth the 26th ranked prospect (per MLB.com). Especially if we add Will Smith, whom they are rumored to really like. Somewhat apples to oranges, I get that, but still.
  4. Ask and you shall receive. He's been pulled.
  5. It totally depends when it's caught. In your Brewer scenario, if the other team appeals before the next pitch to the 5th batter, Braun is out and Luc is returned to second. Lucroy is still safe at second because they didn't protest before the next pitch to Braun. If another pitch is thrown to the 5th batter, all is well. If they appeal after Lucs at bat, before Braun bats, Luc would be out. If they would appeal during an at bat, the correct batter comes to the plate with whatever count previous batter has. Almost positive that's how it shakes out. Hope this helps.
  6. Arcia won't and shouldn't be up until this time next year. No need to start the clock early, especially in losing seasons. Money's to valuable to small market teams.
  7. Because guys never develop more power as they age.... http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/m/molitpa01-bat.shtml Highest ISO seasons at ages: 30, 33, 36, 37, 34, 38 http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/a/aaronha01-bat.shtml Highest ISO seasons at ages: 39, 37, 35 Probably not the most popular statement here, but who's to say Molly and Hank didn't take steroids.... My biggest fear of the Mitchell Report was seeing Ripken, Nolan Ryan, and god-forbid Yount's name on it. It would have ruined baseball for me and many others. Here's an interesting read on Hank Aaron and steroids http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/baseball/20406-hammerin-hank-aaron-he-roids.html
  8. I recently purchased a bunch of bobbleheads from Prices Sportscards before they sold. This was part of the lot. Hunter Morris with his son signed on the brim of his hat. It comes in the the original, plain, white box. Box shows some wear, but the bobblehead is great. It was on display at the shop so it does have some dust on it. Not overly interested in minor league bobbles. Thought I'd check here first before I most likely put it on ebay. I have no idea of the value on this. Willing to sell, but would rather trade for other bobble(s) that I need.
  9. Not really looking for a price on these things, just wondering what they are. I'm guessing it was a all fan giveaway in the early-mid 80's? Anybody know what they are called and when they gave them out? Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.
  10. Anybody listening to today's broadcast? It's Grindle and Levering. Grindle's voice sounds a lot like Levering's. Having a hard time distinguishing between the two. Although, that's quite possibly because both are fairly new. So far I'm a fan of Grindle. Very smooth voice. Good flow to his broadcast. Great interaction between him and Levering. Looking forward to hearing the both of them mesh as broadcasters this season.
  11. I will never understand this argument. Steroids were put into the US Food and Drug Administrations Controlled Substance Act in 1990, which if I'm not mistaken, stemmed the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 1990. If they were illegal in the United States, how were they legal within the rules of Major League Baseball?!? Happy for Griffey Jr as he is a no doubter. I'd love to see Raines get in next year. Ballot might remain crowded though with the new additions of Pudge, Manny, Vladdy, and Posada.
  12. Not really here to argue that Lofton is a HOFer, just that he fell off the ballot a little prematurely. HOFer or not, I would think it's a prestigious thing to hang on the ballot for awhile. IMO, he's a Hall of Very Gooder. His stats are sneaky good though.
  13. Dave Parker is another one. Ultimately it falls on the writers, although their hands are being tied quite a bit. If I'm not mistaken, it was the Hall of Fame that shortened the years of eligibility from 15 to 10. This is huge and Bert Blyleven and Jim Rice agree. They also capped the voting to 10 players a year. This forces some players to fall off prematurely ala Kenny Lofton. Many writers heavily dislike the voting process and scream for changes. To me, it is clear that the Hall doesn't want these guys in either at the present moment.
  14. Count me in on more former player bobbleheads. They hit a homerun with Deer last year and Vaughn this year: In no specific order: - Nieves no hitter - Teddy Higuera - he deserves one anyway - Listach ROY - Tommy Harper 30/30 or 1st ever Brewer All-Star - a nicely done, appropriate Darryl Hamilton - Milt Mason - maybe sliding down the rope or up on the scoreboard - Dave Parker - Love to see him in the on deck circle with a sledge hammer over his shoulder and a little cobra on the ground. He was an All-Star for us. Borderline HOFer. - Cirillo, Sixto, Burnitz, Plesac, Surhoff, Briggs, May - 1 a year from the Milwaukee Braves. That list might be endless. Please don't start with Hank though. Maybe Spahn or Mathews first.
  15. There are only 4 more days until the voting is revealed. Who gets in? Who doesn't? Who deserves it? Who does not? Griffey Jr is a lock. I'm thinking Bagwell, Piazza, and Raines will round out the top 4 although I think only 2 of the 3 get in. Hoffman doesn't get in this year, but will get enough votes to stay on the ballot. Jim Edmonds and Billy Wagner get a little love and remain on the ballot also. Randy Winn has no chance and will rightfully fall off the ballot.
  16. No sure if this interests anybody, but there is a Bernie Mac, Mr. 3000, bobble on ebay. The knob of the bat is broke off and it has no box. Going for $47.00-ish shipped. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Used-RARE-Movie-PROMO-Mr-3000-Baseball-Bobblehead-Bernie-Mac-Milwaukee-Brewers-/201487787755?hash=item2ee99ba6eb:g:KgIAAOSwZ1lWdgTD
  17. Wow. Didn't see that coming either. Also impressed with the return considering Rogers will be 28 (I think) this upcoming season. My only question now is who's playing first next year? Clark? Braun? Pedro Alvarez?
  18. turbo - not sure if you ever got these 2 magnets yet, but brewer19grandpa has these and many more on ebay atm. Pretty reasonable too.
  19. I understand there's coulda, woulda, shouldas littered up and down this post and that injuries happen but Neugey is still only 34 years old. It would most likely not be for the Brewers anymore, but he could still be pitching. He would have looked great on the 2008 piching staff at 28 years old, and 31 in 2011. He'd have most likely been at the tail-end of his prime. I would have loved to see him on the mound instead of Suppan and Marcum.
  20. Are you thinking of Enrique Cruz? Never remember Yohannis Perez on our bench, let alone for a year.
  21. Nick Neugebauer His k-rate in the minors was outstanding. He was a strikout machine. Came to the bigs at the perfect time. New ballpark, new era, winning teams on the horizon. Thought him and Sheets were going to dominate. Coupled with D'Amico, Kyle Peterson, and Ben Diggins that we were going to have a solid rotation. Guess not.
  22. Not sure if anyone has seen it yet but Rob Deer has a picture of his bobblehead on his facebook page. Awesome looking bobble in his SI cover pose.
  23. I would agree Piazza should get in next year based on his upward trending percentage. It's not going to get any easier in the upcoming years for any of these guys though. 2016 will bring Griffey Jr., Trevor Hoffman, and Billy Wagner to the ballot. Though I don't see it, Billy Wagner will get his share of love. 2017 will bring Vlady, Pudge, Manny, and Posada. Yes, Posada will get his share of love too. 2018 will bring Chipper, Thome, and Omar Vizquel. 2019 will bring Mariano, Halladay, Helton, and Pettitte. One could argue that all 14 of these guys have a legit case. The only one who won't clog the ballot up too much is Manny with his PED use. This, sadly, does not bode well for guys like Raines, Bagwell, Mussina, Schilling, McGriff, etc. Unless the BBWAA continues to stay generous and keep voting for 3-4 guys per class, we'll see a lot of these guys fall off sooner than they should.
