    derrick turnbow is from a union city that I thought was the one I grew up next to that is highly inbred and poor and out in the sticks PA... then I saw it was in TN. so that led to this edit.

    kicking someone in the shin does physical harm to someone, someone whooing or hooting/hollering over a tv broadcast doesnt, unless you have sensitive ears... so I dont see how you can try to compare the two.

    no, I just have the ability to ignore it. I know, mindblowing... The fact that you have a high tolerance for annoying behavior doesn't mean that other people have a problem. You probably have no problems with the knuckleheads who yell "Get in the hole" when a golfer tees off on a par 4. you're right, I dont have a problem with that either. im not one to rain on someone elses parade for trying to have a good time just because it bothers me.

    well, I wasnt laughing AT pirates fans, I was with a bunch, and I grew up one (they were my NL team growing up). a big group of us were at oktoberfest here as they got no-hit, so we were fairly loosened up by the time homer got Presley to pop out... lots of laughs

    I have to say, the depression in this city right now is at an all time high... 20th losing season in baseball, the steelers "suck" and no hockey. I mean, really, if there was ANY year the pirates had the opportunity to steal the lime light in September/October, it was this year. Always the 3rd wheel in Pittsburgh sports, they had the opportunity to really move to the next level had they kept even .500 level baseball.
